WHEN YOU ENTER THE FIRST FLOOR, a dojo student greets you. the tower is grand, smelling of incense and wood. sunlight seeps in through the paper paneling and windows high above. before you can leave the genkan, they politely remind you to take off your shoes and to place them in the cubbies to the right side.[break][break]

ahead, a nosepass awaits the party, electricity coiling around its stone body. the dojo student snorts, "HI. SO, THIS IS YOUR FIRST CHALLENGE. YOU MUST AVOID TAKING ELECTRIC-TYPE DAMAGE AT ALL COSTS WHILE LANDING AN ATTACK THREE TIMES." she sniffles, "UH, PREPARE YOURSELVES. MY NOSEPASS IS NO-JOKE!"[break][break]

she guides you all onto the floor and waits for you all to pick your pokemon. a rotomi is stationed to the left, should you require it. as soon as you all summon your pokemon, the nosepass rocks back and forth and sends a DISCHARGE attack against your entire party.[break][break][break]

[attr="class","lancepost"]the smell of incense and wood hits him the moment he steps in, and he obliges with their reminder to take his shoes off. but his eyes remain focused on the nosepass in front of them. the challenge presented to them is simple enough but it has yet to peak his interest of this tower.

lance releases his answer to the challenge. the shedinja that forms flutters to life and hovers nearby, awaiting orders. it isn't until the other participants call out their pokemon that the challenge commences.

the DISCHARGE does nothing against aave's WONDER GUARD. it remains stationary, unmoving, and it isn't until a click comes from lance does it burst to life. it rakes its SHADOW CLAW against the tough body of the nosepass, delivering the party's first attack.

Well this was quite the shenanigan Asher had dragged Oscar into. Money is money, but as Oscar stood there in that yellow uniform he began to question if it was worth it. He felt so silly! Plus the yellow hurt his eyes; and to top that the damn teacher he encountered when he was kidnapping slowbroz was on his team! Stupid ass world was too god damn small.

Oscar took a long draw from hos sucker as the first challenge of the tower revealed itself. No electricity damage? Was that all? Piece of cake. Oscar sent out Pain, his pupitar. Pain glared wildly at the nosepass, his eyes unblinking. As the attack approached, he took it all. He stood absolutely still as it hit him, his gaze unwavering. Due to his Ground Typing, the electric attack did jack. He felt nothing at all--except hatred.

Oscar popped the sucker out of his mouth to give his command, "Stone Edge.". Pain vibrated and hopped up
As he came back down, the floor shook wildly as stones flew through the floorboards and floated in the air. When he was ready, Pain let out a metalic scream. The stones flew toward the nosepass, the mighty impact providing the team's Second Attack.

[attr="class","witness"]First there's Lance, who Asher wanted to punch in the face. It was something about the man that just made Asher want to hit him. Why? Hell if Asher knew. Sometimes fate just rolled the dice and you were stuck with the outcome.

Like Oscar. He never in a million years would have thought that his usual body guard would be there with him today!

Lastly, his beautiful friend, Miss Rhodes. He typically tried to keep everything with the woman as casual as possible but her beauty also demanded it's own attention. She was honestly gorgeous and there was no denying that.

Unfortunately with her beauty and poise came ... morals, which Asher abided by. Which is why she was a beautiful friend and not just a beautiful woman he got to play with.

Now, Asher was rocking the blinding yellow because Asher rocks everything. He accessed the terminal in the room. No electric damage? Pretty easy. He brought forth his vibrava, who had no nickname because he hadn't gotten to know the creature very well. With an excited buzz, the dragon type zoomed about the room until the electrical current tickled him.

Tickled him because electric type moves were ineffective to his ground typing. That didn't mean he didn't need to seek revenge! So he immediately blew a brilliant display of dragon breath colors from his mouth, before buzzing over to Asher and landing on his trainer's shoulder, sniffing at his hair, because it smelled delicious.

"You lick me, and I'll devolve you."

This whole exercise is bizarre if she's being honest. Entering a dojo wearing this horrible shade of yellow clashes with her skin tone and the platinum of her hair - but she bears it because it's the polite thing to do.[break][break]

Leaving her shoes at the door, she quickly takes note of who is joining her, or rather, who she is joining. Thea is the last to arrive it seems, and the rest of the group had already buckled down and got to work. [break][break]

Her attention settles on each individual in turn. It's both a surprise and relief to see Lance here, they seemed to bump into each other a lot by coincidence. Asher was also a welcome sight, and she was well aware of the lingering attention he gave her.[break][break]

Finally, she does a brief double-take on the third young man, someone who looks vaguely familiar but she can't place the face of. [break][break]

Regardless, she releases her Mimikyu to handle the electric situation. While the rest had made good use of ground-type Pokemon or the whimsical Shedinja, Thea was able to allow Mimikyu to tank the attack with her DISGUISE, taking no damage and passing the first test.[break][break]

The other three attack and she nods for her Pokemon to do the same. Mimiyku MIMICS the DRAGON BREATH, dousing the Nosepass in mysterious blue flames.

[attr="class","lancepost"]the others do what they do to clear the first challenge and lance is glad that they're pulling their own weight. it makes it so he feels less obligated to watch out over them, and for that he appreciates. though to be fair he hadn't paid much attention to them in the first place. but now that there is a brief lull he's allowed a moment to regard the others.

lick me and i'll devolve you; what an odd threat to be making to a curious pokemon. they are an unfamiliar face, as is the man with the pupitar, and perhaps it is from that unfamiliarity that lance keeps his mouth shut. it isn't his place to speak, no matter how much it bothers him. instead, he greets the one face he recognizes with a warm smile before heading up to the second floor.

"good to see you finally in action, miss rhodes."

the climb up the stairs is short, which some might appreciate more than others. he recalls his shedinja and once the next challenge is introduced, he releases his rattata, which is by all means an odd choice. the tiny rodent peers up at the swellow in the air; the distance between them monumental.

"do the thing, rotta."

lance crosses his arms over his chest and watches with a sense of amusement. rotta jumps forward, braces himself like he's charging something up, and releases a powerful THUNDER that shoots straight at the swellow.

Oscar brought up the rear of the group as they went to the second floor. Technically, his primary job at the moment was protecting Asher. He was best placed in the back; he wasn't expecting an ambush or anything, he just knew Asher could trip on these stairs. He doesn't always watch where he's going, shit's dangerous.

The second challenge was a dozy. Oscar watched as the swellow soared into the air and sighed deeply, "Shhhhiiiit." How the fuck was he supposed to hit that? He didn't have any resources to strike a target that high. It was looking like the end of the road already, which was absolutely bogus. God damn it, if only Tir Na Nog had finished his Swift training. Oh well.

Oscar was ready to leave, when suddenly he remembered something. "Oh--oh fuck wait!" He ran over to the pc, and after swiping a few times he withdrew a pokeball. He opened it immediately, releasing the Venomoth he caught not too long ago. Oscar crouched by his venomoth and pointed up at the swellow. "See that bitch? Gust their ass!" Venomoth nodded and aimed itself at the bird. It began to quickly flap its wings, before eventually swiping them furiously. A mighty Gust of wind soar through the air, traveling at breakneck speeds to slam directly into the swellow.

Oscar smiled, he was still in it after all.

[attr="class","witness"]Asher has no idea his usual attitude had soured somebody in the room. What he is aware of, however, is that that person he had unknowingly offended smiled at Thea.

N-Not that it bothered him.

He returned his pokemon to it's ball and continued forward with the rest. Thankfully, the second challenge brought enough of a distraction from his conflicting emotions that he didn't have to focus for too long. A kabuto was thrown from a luxury ball, which he did with a flourish, because he likes to show off.

"Bring it down to earth."

The kabuto chitter across the ground enough to fling a rock up, smacking the swellow down to earth.

Thea is all business - any notion of stiffness between her two friends was unnoticed or ignored. As Mimikyu's disguise breaks and the Pokemon's body flops over, Thea quickly returns the beast not long after the Nosepass is defeated. They climb the stairs and make it to the next room, their next challenge.[break][break]

And this one is equally difficult as the group watches the Swellow fly up to the ceiling. Fortunately, the rest of them manage to find a way to tear at the Swellow despite it's height. She can, too.[break][break]

She releases her Drifblim and the Pokemon copies the Venomoth's GUST with her own. She deflates in the effort, expending all of her hot air to force it up to the ceiling to assault the bird Pokemon.

[attr="class","lancepost"]business is business but lance is at least able to find some fun in it. the second challenge is easily cleared and he's smiling as a result. rotta is quickly recalled because he had done his job, and when lance steps into the third floor, he's already reaching for his shedinja's pokeball. once again, aave flutters to whatever life a ghost-type is capable of.

a FISSURE rushes towards them and lance is forced to have to step to the side to avoid the splitting of earth. aava remains hovering, unaffected by the attack due to its WONDER GUARD.

lance turns to watch how the others react to the attack.

Another floor down. Their luck was pretty good so far, although Oscar was uncertain it would last much longer. He could only imagine the horrors that awaited them in the upper floors. The very thought of it gave him conniptions. Oh well, best stay in the present.

The next challenge had a much simpler solution to the last one. As the fissure began, Oscar sent out his hydreigon Puffnstuff. The dragon roared, its eyes full of malice. It glared toward the Flygon and prepared to charge and engage it in battle! Oscar waved it down, "No no no! None of that, you just have to stand still."

Puffnstuff scratched his head with his...heads. He was confused, this was a most unorthodox request. He did as he was told though, and did not move. The fissure passed right under him thanks to his Levitate ability. Puffnstuff looked to his master as nothing happened, Oscar responded with a thumbs up. Puffnstuff smiled, at least master was pleased.

[attr="class","witness"]Watching as Thea takes her turn, Asher gives a small smile of appraisal. This tower is far less social than he thought it would be, but then again, it's not as if anybody but Oscar is making a spectacle of themselves. Perhaps it was time to take a number from Oscar's unprofessional book. It was, after all, what attracted Asher to Oscar enough to hire him.

Upon entrance to the next floor, Asher takes note of the challenge before them. He's already returned the kabuto, moving his hand back to the vibrava's ball with a small groan. This thing was coming in handle more than he would have liked.

Releasing the vibrava, it's eyes graze the floor and it uses it's levitate ability to avoid the ohko move before moving over and landing on Asher's shoulder again.

He just smelled so good, and that's all he did, was give Asher a sniff, instead of making a scene... even if he really wanted to lick the guy, the idea of being devolved sounded awful. Vibrava liked being able to fly and having a tiny mouth.

The floor is ultimately an easy challenge and they pass onto the next with ease. Lance replaces his Rattata with the Shedinja that continues to pique her interest, and Oscar releases a three-headed dragon. It dwarfs the Shedinja in the room and would dwarf both Asher's Vibrava and her own Drifblim as the two Pokemon take the scene.[break][break]

She doesn't need to swap Eva out in favor of her Mimikyu for this instance, as she watches the Drifblim slowly float above the ground. The fissure passes and crumbles at her feet, encouraging her to side step and not fall in herself. As a result, she misses Asher's appreciative smile.[break][break]

Thea does, however, look up to speak with Oscar.[break][break]

"You need to be firm with a Pokemon such as Hydreigon. If you lose the respect of one head, the rest go with it."[break][break]

Her tone depicts harsh criticism, and her severe expression replicates that.
