WHEN YOU ENTER THE FIRST FLOOR, a dojo student greets you. the tower is grand, smelling of incense and wood. sunlight seeps in through the paper paneling and windows high above. before you can leave the genkan, they politely remind you to take off your shoes and to place them in the cubbies to the right side.[break][break]

ahead, a whiscash awaits the party, resting in a small inflatable pool. the dojo student gurgles, "YO! AVOID TAKING WATER-TYPE DAMAGE AT ALL COSTS WHILE LANDING AN ATTACK THREE TIMES. GOT IT?" he exhales, "READY UP! MY WHISCASH WANTS TO HIT THE WAVES!"[break][break]

he guides you all onto the floor and waits for you all to pick your pokemon. a rotomi is stationed to the left, should you require it. as soon as you all summon your pokemon, the whiscash spews water from its maw and sends a SURF attack against your entire party.[break][break][break]

Quickly obliging the dress code of the dojo, Derek seems to jump ahead of his group at the mention of battle. Gripping a pokeball that had already been on his person, Derek lets it's contents loose without a moment's hesitation. Releasing a Honedge that he'd just acquired, the trainer quickly shouts a command as the Whiscash's wave grows over their heads...

"Damascus, use your Wide Guard! We'll leave the others to attack it!" Thankfully responding in kind, the ghost-sword pokemon projected a large spectral aura from itself, expanding sideways and vertically to meet the surf wave. Once it was completely halted, the other three would be free to pursue the Whiscash in whatever manner they saw fit. Derek just had to hope none of them missed...

Billie thought to herself that the outfit they had been given to wear was quite reminiscent of a particular movie saga as she kicked off her shoes and twisted a little on the ball of her foot, looking down at the mustard yellow attire that had been presented to them upon entrance. Something like this in general wasn’t exactly the norm for her but, as she and her randomly assorted team were bunched together in the first level of the tower, she couldn’t help but feel a little curious for what was to come. Her intrigue piqued.

As the huge wave loomed and her teammate summoned his pokemon, Billie found herself tensing a little, as if unsure whether the water would simply crash over them as well, her nose scrunched as if preparing herself for a dousing. Being within the depths of battle also wasn't her norm. “Chewie,” she said as the cogs in her head began to spin, feeling a tickling sensation against her neck as the Joltik crawled his way from out of the folds in her uniform and out of the back of her shirt, where he had previously been clinging. Her fingertips hooked into the belt loosely tied around her waist as the water crashed against the Wide Guard, relaxing as behind her, her tiny Joltik began to scuttle up a wooden support beam. “Electroweb; aim for the face.” Tiny claws digging in, it clung to the celling rafter and released a crackling mesh towards the Whiscash when he was directly above it, attempting to both attack and hinder its vision so the others could get a stronger hit in.

tldr; joltik climbs up the wooden beams to get out of the way of surf and shoots an electroweb at whiscash's eyes

she didn't.. exactly know what to think of the garb that was provided for the tower, but she didn't say anything as to not disrespect the custom. unfortunately, the outfit wasn't the only thing she wasn't prepared for; the sudden chuck into battle knocked her off for a moment, before she could properly process what was happening. luckily, one person in the group was already ahead with using wide guard to shield the party, to which she gave a small smile to the trainer in gratitude, and reached to pull her own pokeball.

a meganium makes itself known, craning its long neck and gently ruffling the petals at the bade by its body. from this distance, she assumes, she should be able to hit it. "peridot," she starts, glancing at the meganium that seemed a bit taken with the joltik, shooting out its electroweb. "to the wailmer, and use petal dance." with those orders, the pokemon began to conjure a flurry of pink petals, similar to those around its neck, and they are shot towards the water type in an attempt to ensnare it.
