One day Cove had a family, and then he didn’t. He didn’t know at the time what kind of stuff his parents were involved in, but after that night it became painfully clear. His parents had been neck deep in criminal activity and thought, when Cove came along, they could get out. Their history eventually caught up with them and took both of them out of the picture leaving Cove alone. Friends of his parents took Cove and raised them alongside their own kid, but Cove was never treated as an equal or just a normal child. He was raised to be an attack dog of sorts who served the family, and the Rockets they were apart of, without question and punished when he thought otherwise. It wasn’t all bad, though; the rewards for compliance were grand, he and his step-sibling were close and remain so, and as he grew the pay for his work wasn’t half bad. It’s a stretch to say he’s happy, but he’s working on that. [break][break] Cove likes to act like everything and everyone annoy him; he’s keeps the vast majority of people at a distance with rude, foul-mouthed behavior, a sarcastic tongue, and a rather dark outlook on life. He doesn’t have faith in much--not people and not the system that governs them--and would rather see it all burn. He isn’t exactly negative, but a realist of sorts who’s accepted the life handed to him as the best it’s going to get. He has ambitions, but has a lazy streak and a love of bitching that rarely sees those ambitions met. He’s intelligent, broody, and talks as little as he can get away with. He’s protective when necessary and prone to aggression, as he was taught to be, but has a charming (to him) sense of humor when he deigns to use it.
