His love for dark types couldn’t be dismissed and he couldn’t fight it. And although he had plenty of them already, it wasn’t enough and he wanted more. With that, Maverick made the trip from one side of Hoenn to the other. In truth, traveling back and forth was both time consuming and costly but worth it. However, the trainer really needed to learn how to ride on one of his flyers. The last time he rode this salamence, she throw his ass to the ground. That was some else he needed to do. The man had to start a bond with the dragons type. Of course, he could always ride his aerodactyl instead. They had an amazing bond already. But there was something about riding on a massive dragon that felt, exciting.[break][break]

Route 117 was beautiful, distinguished by its flower gardens and small ponds. Warm orbs flickered to the sky, clear as day though temperatures were on the rise. In fact, it was already in the high eighties and it wasn’t even noon yet. With the sigh and a glance at his six foot seven houndoom to be sure she was ready, the pair made their way through the route. His hopes to find more dark types were high though wasn’t sure if Lady Luck was on his side today.

Samuel was making a trip to Verdanturf, wanting to enjoy himself with the town’s tranquil atmosphere and relaxing spas.

Instead of making it an easy straight shot to the town, he decided to make a couple of detours, one of which took him to Route 117. And it was going pretty uneventfully until Samuel crossed paths of a man and his Pokémon.

”Wonderful day, isn’t it?” He’d say, giving the other man a small nod.

”Just passing on through?” Samuel added. Samuel had his suspicions that the man was here for more than just a simple walk given the Pokemon that was walking with him but it'd be best not to make assumptions and potentially offended the stranger.

It didn’t take long for Maverick to run into someone. Warm colored orbs flickered to see a red haired male, greeting him with a nod. Maverick returned the nod, his expression blank and emotionless. “Sure,” he said rather bitter and short, his mind focus on the task at hand as Azula’s swaggered at his side, “I’m hunting for dark types.” The man motioned for her to continue her search, even reaching in his pocket and pulled out four more pokballs. The more pokemon the better right. With a simply flick of the wrist, the three balls burst open to reveal more canine’s. Two houndooms and one arcanine. “Search,” the man order in a low tone, turning his attention back to the man.[break][break]

“Yeah… I heard that dark types have been appearing more often here,” he offered as his gaze flickered at the sound of snarls, seeing his pack messing with a poor murkrow, “Have you seen any?” The canine’s played with the bird for a moment before Azula managed to jump up, clamping her jaw on the creature body. The bird screeched, but ended just as quick as he bite down and killed the bird. A chuckle escaped him letting his gaze shifted to the guy for a moment. “Hope you weren’t looking for a murkrow.” But his joke was short lived when a massive bug like creature come out of no where. His gaze shifted to the man, waved offered for him to take care of the bug. “All yours if you want?"

Samuel looked around, this was the first time he was hearing about the abundance of dark types in this area. It wasn’t as if he went out of his way to keep himself informed on such information but it was still nonetheless strange to him to actually think about it despite how much sense it did to do so.

”Can’t say I have.” He responded but it seemed that would change quickly due to the arrival of two wild Pokémon. The stranger made quick work of the Murkrow and now it was Samuel’s turn to take care of the large bug Pokémon.

He’d use his Pidgeot and then ordering the bird to use Hurricane the bug would be dazed enough for Samuel to try and capture it. ”Seems like there are bugs and dark types in abundance here.”

Too many bugs was an underestimated. Once again, he found himself running into everything but dark types. It was starting to really annoy him. Was there a dark type repel attacked to him or something? After the man took down the massive bug with his bird, Maverick had to admit he was impressed. But of course, not out loud. The man simply nodded when he captured that creature, moving on to something else. And something else, they did.[break][break]

Not shortly after the man took down the giant bug, a butterflee flow passed them. Warm colored orbs watched as the pokemon flew right over their heads, not caring about the humans on the ground. It might be nice being back to go where ever you want. His attention was quick turned when a parasect hopped out of the underbrush in front of them, looking like it wanted to battle. His looked to the stronger. “Want me to get that one or do you want it?”[break][break]

If the man didn’t want it or take care of it, Maverick would simply nod for Azula to take care of it. Surely, a few fire fangs and flamethrowers would take care of it.
