Which he appreciated more than she'd ever know.

Now he was signed up for the cash, and because it got Pang off his back about not giving her enough fights.

The pangoro at his side beat her chest as they were introduced. First Abner and Pang the pangoro are introduced, before the announcer gives the name of who will be competing against the clock with him, and he's suddenly grinning. Not at the name, cause it's probably a fake, but at the woman who shows herself entering the 'arena' of this little adventure.

"Wolfie!"

He gives a wave, not excited, but the fact that he waved at all was enough to show that he was excited to see her again.

"Sorry about dropping off the face of the planet. I got ghosted, bro."

The fuck Abner? She's a woman she's not a bro but to Abner she is so it's fine.

Emma wasn't hard pressed for cash, but given that this was a stupid easy concept and therefore stupid easy money, it was a no-brainer. Why wouldn't she beat up a trashed up car in order to add a little bit of coin to her back pocket?[break][break]

She brings with her a Nidoqueen, the immense Pokemon flexing as she makes her way to the center stage. Everything is fine and inconspicuous and generally indifferent until a grating voice calls out to her. [break][break]

'Wolfie? What the fuck? I haven't heard that name in--- oh."[break][break]

A sour look spreads over her face as she turns to face the man. He waves and she half-heartedly returns the gesture, though she isn't sure she's as pleased as he is to see him.[break][break]

"I don't know what you're talking about."[break][break]

In the background, Nidoqueen takes it upon herself to start smashing.[break][break]

That uninterested, gaze, awe, she missed him. No she didn't. The only thing she probably missed ... well Abner wouldn't really know, but fuck. It was good to see a familiar rocket face in all this shit.

"What the fuck ever then, huh?"

Abner shrugs before making his way to her so they can talk while the pokemon smash the cars.

"Good to see you're still in one piece, in my opinion."

Abner's just teasing her, but then looks forward and the two girls having the strangest version of girl time Abner's ever seen in his life.

"...so how are you handling the shake down?"

The way rocket's reforming, he means.

Her tone is flat but there's a note of amusement as she regards him. She had never been particularly close with Abner before Rocket's coup, or whatever you wanted to call it. She seemed far more relaxed as a human being, though, than she ever did before.[break][break]

She's focused on the two female Pokemon semi-bonding over their carnage. Nidoqueen seems apt to improve the Pangoro's form, flexing her muscles and demonstrating ways to better herself. [break][break]

And then she DOUBLE-KICKS the crap out of the driver door.[break][break]

Marcel was actually a ghost type. Whishy washy about what it wanted, leeching onto the negativity in his life, and being an absolute shit to everybody else while also using things like spite and shadow sneak on the daily.

How shadow sneak? All those little information ninjas that hide around as grunts Abner doesn't recognize. Big brother's always watching.

Pang takes a note out of the nidoqueen's book and gives a crunch her own tire, raising her hands in victory as they overcome the trial within the timelimit.

"Well shit, look at that."

Turning to her, Abner smirks.

"Time's up, I guess," he gives a lazy one fingered salute. "See ya on the flip side, Wolfie."

And with that, he withdraws his pangoro as the crowd cheers.
