Emma rolls her shoulders. Honestly, this seemed like a mundane exercise but both Gavin and Katherine had been enamored with the idea of winning that she refused to be the bad guy. Ironic, I know.[break][break]

So here she is, ready to give it her best (mostly) effort to appease the crowd. So much for relaxing near the beach. [break][break]

The woman's Scolipede is massive as she stands next to her. The moment the race starts she tucks herself into a ball, bursting forward with a SPEED BOOSTED AGILITY. Emma holds on somehow for when the Scolipede flattens out for her to ride it.[break][break]

As soon as the starting shot is heard, Scolipede shifts into action. AGILITY is executed without so much as a second thought, and Katherine mounts her poison-type then and there, without taking too much of their time.

"Come on! We're reaching that finish line first!"

The Rocketess might not be able to aid her pokemon with this task, but she can certainly cheer for her.

[attr="class","dae i"]his teammates are honestly a bit intimidating with how prepared they seem to be for the race. he recognizes none of them, but that isn't that much of a surprise. he steels himself, stretching, and is caught off guard by the starting shot.

"oh shit."

dae fumbles for the pokeball in his pocket. it's not his, which is why it feels unfamiliar as he calls out the dragon-type. "go go go go go!" it's all drakloak needs to hear as dae jumps on, latching his arms around her long neck before an AGILITY takes them away.

Scolipede's speed is unmatched.

Through the aid of both her ability and AGILITY, she only makes things easier for Katherine and herself, bringing them both closer to the finish line. "Come on, girl! Faster! You can do it!" And she does. Her speed grows tremendously in another boost following the Rocketess's cheer.

It's only a matter of time before they finish this course.

The Scolipede uses AGILITY a second time to get to absolute max speed. Her velocity is so great Emma's cheeks are flapping in the wind.[break][break]

[attr="class","dae i"]dae and his stolen drakloak fall behind but to be fair they were always behind. so really, it doesn't matter much. everyone's zooming away from him but that only seems to motivate him to want to catch up. he gives drakloak a friendly slap to its side.

"we're falling behind! speed bost go go!"

and again, an AGILITY sends them soaring through the air, avoiding the obstacles and even snaking through floating platforms in slateport's sea. they look rather cool, but his hair's all messed up.

His team pulls further and further ahead, and eventually everyone's speed levels out to max velocity. He and Aerodactyl are comparatively left in the dust, but he repeatedly tells himself that it's fine, he's not jealous, he's not considering the acquisition of a Scolipede based solely on this moment.[break][break]

He has to yell in his poor Aerodactyl's ear so that the frenzied winds don't steal his voice, but he thinks she hears him. She growls, anyway, and he can only hope that it's not indigestion.[break][break]

She looks like a real cowboy out here, hair flying, eyes narrowed. She's dodging debris and hanging on tight as Scolipede climbs the rock walls and lands with a thud every time. She is by no means a smooth ride and she would need some TLC later when it came to rolling out her tense muscles.[break][break]

Worth it for the gold medal though, right?[break][break]

Given that they're flying through the course at max speed, Emma is confident they have this in the bag.[break][break]

This should be the end of this race.

Scolipede utilizes her natural agility, the ability of her species, and an additional AGILITY just for good measure. Just to ensure that they reach the finish line in time. The poison-type doesn't slow down even to make sure that her trainer was handling all of this in a stride, but instead, she opts to do as Katherine would have liked her to.

She gives it her all.
