kyle wanders around the abandoned parts of new mauville. this place was supposed to be nice, but the wild pokemon wandering its halls has definitely made it a less than ideal hangout spot.

"there's gotta be something cool in here for you," he tells his rotom that currently inhabits his phone, "like a mega evolved rotom should be able to occupy a mecha or something. if a mecha's to be found anywhere, it has to be here, right?"

the rotom simply plays kyle's weeb music as a response. the elite four grumbles as he continues to move forward.

kyle feels like a hobo trying to pick through the discarded electronics to look for a thing his rotom can inhabit so it can be some kind of mega pokemon knockoff. it doesn't seem like a mecha rotom is happening anytime soon.

a mareep gets curious to hobo!kyle's activity and watches beside him sift through the trash. kyle tries to shoo it away, but sighs and just gets up and leaves when the mareep doesn't go.

he felt like he was being judged by the sheep and he didn't need that energy today.

he finds a box with an electrike near discarded pieces of electronics. kyle wasn't sure if this electrike has been abandoned or if it was already here and it just made the box its home.

kyle grumbles at the sight since his decision was already made the moment he saw her. he wasn't sure about adding another one to the large group of pokemon he doesn't even get to use, especially since the pokemon was likely to turn into a pet anyways, but his heart melts at the electrike nonetheless.

it barks at him and kyle clutches his heart to keep it from failing. he's weak, bound to follow his desires no matter how much tolerance he has built. he seethes under his breath as he approaches the box electrike, leaning down to meet it face to face.

"okay. you're mine now."

he quickly folds the flaps of the box before the electrike can even react, closing it so it cannot escape him. he lifts it up easily and runs to the exit, holding the boxed electric-type with him. it was such a big brain play.
