"Oh shit."

That floorboard creaked too loud. The wrong kind of loud. The breaking kind of loud. The kind she doesn't like hearing.

"Oh fuck oh fuck"

Too late.

The floor boards of the old building give way beneath her feet. Before she knows it Maiya's carefully laid plan of scoping out the old abandoned building for any left over treasures in hidden places was crumbling beneath her. She barely has a chance to fumble for her Fennekin's pokeball before she's starting to fall. "Psychicpsychicpsychic"

Her fox lands on the floor above and she's going through to the floor bellow before she knows it and making a racket along the way. She should have seen this coming while she was sneaking around, she didn't belong here and there was an eery feeling in the air she couldn't quite shake. It had her the wrong kind of on edge, not scared but like she had to be extra careful. It was making her sloppy.

Not that it mattered now that she was hoping her pokemon- or something caught her before she hit the floor. She could have sworn something was laughing at her over her pokemon's shoulder.

FATE EPISODE U N L O C K E D

completing a thread with these characters before AUGUST 24TH, 11:59PM PST will net you a bonus of 20PD.

"HOLY HELL."

This exclamation rings out as the ceiling to the basement caves in and Goodcop, his Morpeko, inadvertently acts as a cushion for whatever fell through. Atlan was lucky to have been just far away to avoid any of the debris and most of the dust. As it cleared, however, the dazed Morpeko became a very irate Morpeko. And it wasn't long until Goodcop shifted angrily into Badcop:

"Nyahnyahnyaaaah!

It constantly growled like an imp, pissed off and trying to hastily whack the person off of him. Thankfully, its hateful speak wasn't easily understood by the human ear. He had some very choice words to make about the person's buttocks.

When the lad in the cheap suit finally realized they weren't some tortured spirit or wandering zombie, as apparent by their swearing and muttering, he rushed over to fan the dust away, shoo Badcop off, and extend a hand to help them up. "So you were the one making all that noise up there? I almost pissed myself thanks to you, y'know!" He candidly admitted.

Then her face emerged from the dust cloud. And suddenly he found himself blinking; a little embarrassed to have said that in front of a young lady such as... wait. How old was she? Like 13?

Without a word, he lifted his hand and measured her height with it, placing it flat against the top of her head before comparing it to his own height. Then he checked at her feet to make sure she wasn't standing in a hole or more surprising... on top of something. Turns out, she wasn't. "Huh."

Meanwhile, the ghostly laughter in the background receded. But more activity started to slow stir on the second floor: such as a faucet turning on.

— Goodcop/Badcop cushions Maiya's fall and Atlan helps her up before assessing how short she is.

"Hey! Fuck you too you mutant zangoose!"

A slap fight with a purple and black... whatever that was, was not high on Maiya's list of to-dos today. Not that you'd expect it to be high on anyone's really. Regardless she just wanted whatever bratty thing this was to stop whacking at her, it wasn't like she asked for it to break her fall.

No she asked her Fennekin to, the slow ass.

She doesn't take the accepted hand, perfectly content to get up on her own despite the growns that came with it. Maiya might have managed to be a little more friendly but he immediately went at her height and that threw the idea out the window. "Maybe you should have, you and whatever the hell that thing was."

Maiya taps the pokeball her Fennekin belonged to, returning it to where it belonged. A faucet turns on and she signs, a long, low, aggitated sound.

She was gonna hate today, she could feel it.

Atlan made a face at her response, thoroughly baffled by her suggestion that they should have pissed their pants. Badcop wasn't even wearing any. He almost laughs at how ridiculous and alarming the suggestion is, but is interrupted by the distinct sound of all the mansion's faucets turning on.

He holds up a finger to the girl in an attempt to shush her as he tilts his head. "... You hear that?" The suited lad whispers as Badcop scampers up his leg to mount his shoulder. Still angry and housing a low growl in his throat, the Morpeko keeps glaring at the girl despite the evolving situation they're in. Without a morsel of food as recompense, he holds quite the grudge.

Regardless, before long, a drop of water drips down from the exposed hole above and lands right on Atlan's forehead. He blinks as it slides down across the bridge of his nose, the side of his nostril, then the curvature of his lips. Until, finally, pooling at the tip of his chin and dripping off:

Drip.

Followed by a peal of ghostly laughter.

[x]

Suddenly, the hole the red-haired girl has fallen through becomes a portal through which a cascade of water from the faucets above pours through. "Aw HELL." Atlan exclaims, scampering to move out of the way before he's drenched. In the process of it all, Badcop holds onto his shoulder for dear life. This is doing nothing to improve his mood. Meanwhile, if the girl isn't as quick to move as Atlan was, she was liable to get soaked herself before the pair can reach the staircase leading to the basement's exit.

"Those damn things wanna drown us!"

— The basement is being flooded by the naughty ghost(s) above.

On instinct she reaches for the finger he's holding up and grabs it like she could take it if she tried. She doesn't get far with it before the drop of water makes for a very clear distraction, putting any comments she might have made to a stop just as quickly.

Maiya scrambles faster than her little legs probably seem like they can take her. First the wrong way. "Fuck." Then she finds the sudden wave of water knocking over items in the basement. She' scrambling over a fragmenting shelf to make it to the stair way before the water can make it to her knees.

(And yes, she's painfully aware that won't take very long.)

"No shit Sherlock. I thought they wanted to play a game of water tag." she's cursing the entire way up the steps, but this one stands out in particular.

Shocked she would just grab his finger like that, Atlan is nonetheless relieved when he manages to slip away from her grasp with finger intact and clothes yet to be soaked. As they hurriedly ascend the basement steps, however, he can't help but notice her constant muttering of curses. He snorts out of his nose. "It's Beckett, actually. Atlan Beckett. And is 'water tag' even a real thing?" He retorts, helping Badcop up onto his shoulder after the little rodent slipped off a bit.

Just as they're about to reach the door leading to the first floor of the abandoned mansion, however, the sharply dressed assistant stops. He holds out his arm to bar the girl from moving forward herself, then points at the doorknob just a few feet ahead of them. It vibrates frantically, as if somebody on the other side of the door is desperate to enter.

Then, with little warning besides that, the door slams open to reveal a grouping of several different household appliances hovering in the air. Realizing what's about to happen next, and noting sparks of electricity somehow coming out of the floating toaster, despite the unconnected power cord, Atlan shouts.  "Duck!" And, just as he does so, all the floating appliances come flying past the basement door and crashing down the stairs, narrowly avoiding them both before splashing into the pool of water beyond and igniting it with electricity.

With the attack past them, the young lad scrambles up onto both feet. "Let's go!"

— Atlan and Maiya get a bunch of appliances thrown at them.

Why exactly was he wasting time introducing himself? Maiya couldn't quite tell and as such, did not bother to commit his name to memory. She didn't intend to need to know it anyway. "What kind of rock do you live un-"

He cuts her off and the rattling doorknob has her full attention. As does the door. And then the floating appliance. Then there's the electrified water and Maiya finds herself about done with this ghostly encounter.

She doesn't even really have to duck. Instead she ends up barely lowering herself and srambling forward into the hallway. This is starting to look like a b-rate horror movie and she's less than amused. "Arceus almighty I oughta-"

Her curse it cut short by the ominous glow in a doorway down the hall. Most people have seen enough horror movies to know it's time to head for the front door.

Maiya has not.

She releases her ninetales, the fox curling a tail around her waist. "You see it, you Disable it." the tips of the pokemon's tails glow and lie in wait.
