there's no gentleness or caution in her movements as she picks at the boards. Maiya tosses them aside as quickly as she plucks them up. A couple of the larger ones take a little more effort than the rest and she's focused on moving one of them when the other girl approaches. If she expects any sort of greeting she doesn't get it. Maiya seems to be ignoring her when she steps through the broken fence to examine a different board and beyond that, the mud and grass on the other side of the fence.

The area is packed down well, sloppy tracks left behind by the fleeing pokemon. Rain has washed a fair amount away but it hasn't dampened all of it. She imagines they'll find tracks from mud caked hooves eventually too.

"they're probably in the trees." her hands are on her hips when she finally acknowledges the other girl. She's rude but not that. Her eyes look down at the cufant at the girls heels. She raises an eyebrow. Says nothing. Moves to make her way towards the treeline where the disruption in the grass seems to lead. It's a moment later that she turns and asks something wasn't patient enough to hear.

"He say how many there are?" you know, so she can make sure to bring back and hug every last one of them.

She's doing it for the wooloo let's be real.

Specifically for the chance to hug one of them. Let alone it end up needing consoling after getting lost from home. Arceus, Maiya would die for the wooloo cuddles. They sooth her fiery and ill tempered soul.

Which is probably why she's a little crabby about having a partner again, some league regulation bullshit. 'What if something happens in the field and you need help blah blah blah'. She didn't sign up to be an assistant or to have one just for the cash (and the pokemon cuddling, apparently) so neither listening to the old man keep going on an on about his lost pokemon nor waiting for her partner in pokemon rescuing is very high on her list of things to do today.

Maiya has walked away from him mid plea, a surprising amount of focus etched into her features. The determination in her eyes is on par with the crease on her forehead as she follows the fence line. You can see where the storm took out some of the posts from here and she's headed for it. No better place to start than where they got freed from right? It sounds like a bright idea at least.

"Fan-fucking-tastic." the little woman yells back through the smog. The impeding approach of the lycanroc having been cut short lifts a weight from her shoulders but not from her attitude.

Maiya can't help but feel like what should have been a nice little cuddle fest with these fluffy beasts has become an obnoxious mess.

"Orchid, Burgandy, swap out." a quick set of taps retrieves the hissing lizard that seems anything but pleased to return to her ball so soon and replaces her with another fox. The Fenniken seems alarmed at the smog, but Maiya's gesturing at the rocks becomes her focus. The Psychic energy that envelopes the stones flings them haphazardly but digs into the tomb faster than her hands would have.

If she were the sort to pinch her nose and rub it in agitation she'd be doing so now, instead she just looked pissed. "Are we done with this yet?"

LANCE VOLLANS

The beeping and booping of the porygon seems to begin reigning the wooloo in. Maiya finds it a little disruptive but makes no move to put a stop to the pokemon's activity. If anything the slanit seems interested in trying her hand. Soon the little creature is hissing in much the same manner the pokemon is beeping. The wooloo seem willing to comply.

Until the rock tomb erupts above the gathering wooloo, "Disable! the attack is cut short but it doesn't change the fact that several rocks and stones have not only split the herd in two but a pair of the wooloo have become easy pickings for wolves, now half buried beneath the rocks.

Maiya runs through the smog, her fox on her heels. She's quite to begin working at the stones, trying to free the pokemon before the other wolf can arrive.

It's not long, they seem to have followed the sounds through the poisonous clouds.

Why exactly was he wasting time introducing himself? Maiya couldn't quite tell and as such, did not bother to commit his name to memory. She didn't intend to need to know it anyway. "What kind of rock do you live un-"

He cuts her off and the rattling doorknob has her full attention. As does the door. And then the floating appliance. Then there's the electrified water and Maiya finds herself about done with this ghostly encounter.

She doesn't even really have to duck. Instead she ends up barely lowering herself and srambling forward into the hallway. This is starting to look like a b-rate horror movie and she's less than amused. "Arceus almighty I oughta-"

Her curse it cut short by the ominous glow in a doorway down the hall. Most people have seen enough horror movies to know it's time to head for the front door.

Maiya has not.

She releases her ninetales, the fox curling a tail around her waist. "You see it, you Disable it." the tips of the pokemon's tails glow and lie in wait.

On instinct she reaches for the finger he's holding up and grabs it like she could take it if she tried. She doesn't get far with it before the drop of water makes for a very clear distraction, putting any comments she might have made to a stop just as quickly.

Maiya scrambles faster than her little legs probably seem like they can take her. First the wrong way. "Fuck." Then she finds the sudden wave of water knocking over items in the basement. She' scrambling over a fragmenting shelf to make it to the stair way before the water can make it to her knees.

(And yes, she's painfully aware that won't take very long.)

"No shit Sherlock. I thought they wanted to play a game of water tag." she's cursing the entire way up the steps, but this one stands out in particular.

"What's it look like?" Smog. Duh. Not that she says it out loud but she knows that's all he can really see. Probably hears a lot more, bleating sheep pokemon scurrying about, the cry of a paralyzed wolf, the thudding feet of the other three. It takes them effort to find them in the poisonous smog that will drain their health with enough time.

Orchid's already scurried away from her, Maiya can hear her hissing in the distance. "Venoshock." moments later another lycanroc finds itself drenched in a venmous liquid. It's cries make her clench her jaw but she smiles at the lizard when it returns to her anyway.

Two down, two to go, she and the ninetales wait and listen.

Garden pokemon

"Hey! Fuck you too you mutant zangoose!"

A slap fight with a purple and black... whatever that was, was not high on Maiya's list of to-dos today. Not that you'd expect it to be high on anyone's really. Regardless she just wanted whatever bratty thing this was to stop whacking at her, it wasn't like she asked for it to break her fall.

No she asked her Fennekin to, the slow ass.

She doesn't take the accepted hand, perfectly content to get up on her own despite the growns that came with it. Maiya might have managed to be a little more friendly but he immediately went at her height and that threw the idea out the window. "Maybe you should have, you and whatever the hell that thing was."

Maiya taps the pokeball her Fennekin belonged to, returning it to where it belonged. A faucet turns on and she signs, a long, low, aggitated sound.

She was gonna hate today, she could feel it.

The flock begins to scatter. "Safeguard, Smog."

The first pokeball she throws produces her nintetales, the fox on alert but calm. She stands ready before her trainer as a series of safeguards course through the flock. The barriers settle into place around the furry creatures as seek the far sides of their pen.

Next is the small lizard pokemon, it clings to the ground, belly low as its maw opens. The smog starts small, like a leak and quickly grows to consume the area, filling the pen and obscuring the flock from view. Them too, which is the real point. Maiya stays close by her ninetales, safe from the poisonous haze beneath the barrier.

The lycanroc howl through the haze.

Gacha pokemon

Zippy zappy kitty thing!

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

Maiya blinks at the pokemon that goes racing by her and rudely interrupts her perusing stealing of people's berries and gardens. The elephant seems to be wholly unaware of just how fast it is going and the direction it's going in towards a strong tree at the other end. "Hey watch it! You could kill someone!"

Not that it's listening or anything.

The little woman rolls her eyes and almost turns away to leave the pokemon to ravage people's gardens and possibly itself before the event is over. She can't quite do it, turning around and releasing two of her pokemon in turn. "Psychic, Disable."

The smaller of the two foxes seems rather excited to be out and about, the Fennekin eager to use her psychic to redirect the donphan and at least momentarily, get it up into the air where it can't hit anything. The elder of the two sits pretty as she pleases beside her trainer. The pokemoon is poised and calm. Her Disable breaks the pokemon's spin by cutting the rollout short. Maiya has half a mind to have the fennekin leave it in a tree anyway for being so rude.

She doesn't though, turning to walk away as her pokemon sets it down. The woman doubles back while it's trying kick up a roll again and failing, chucking a pokeball at it as hard as she can. She's always secretly wanted an elephant.
