The moment she noticed what was lurking in the Safari Zone, she knew she had to go in. This had to be her ‘big brain moment’, after all.

The problem was—would she be lucky enough to find what she was looking for the first time? Once she’d slapped down the bills on the counter and got the three Safari Balls in return, it was time to search.

There is definitely a Dratini on this list! She thought as she passed through the security check before being allowed through. Although there’s something else that’s caught my eye… she continued as she looked around.

Where the hell was she even going to start?!

The first thing Izumi encountered was a… wait, what the heck was that? Blinking, she saw that the strange penguin Pokémon waddling around on what appeared to be a frozen… wait, frozen?

She had to rub her eyes and take another look because how in the fresh hell did a frozen part of whatever the Eiscue was skidding on exist in a tropical region? Either way, she bowled out a Pokéball and popped out the Cyndaquil—soon, she’d be reunited with her Typhlosion, Arashi.

For now this had to do.

“Rollout, now!” she began, and the Cyndaquill curled itself up before bowling right at the Eiscue. A little screeching noise came from the strange Ice-type, before it attempted to retaliate with an Icicle Crash attack. Blinking at the Icicle Crash, the Cyndaquil crashed into the first obstacle, but righted his course and went straight for the Eiscue and slammed into it several more times.

Two, three—four! One short of five! She thought as the Cyndaquil unfurled itself after the fourth attempt before taking aim and firing a—“Nice one, Flamethrower!” she cheered on as the strong blast of flames licked at and surrounded the Eiscue.

Screeching, the Ice-type tried to hide in a sudden blast of Mist, but a second Flamethrower pierced the fog and knocking the Eiscue off its feet.

The Safari Ball was quick to fly and catch the Ice-type.

Something that was unfortunately the butt of so many jokes across the regions. A Tentacool. All because of the tentacles implication…

Chuckling softly to herself, she knew that this wasn’t the one she was looking for, even as it waved its two appendages angrily her way. “Nope, no way, I am not going to get tangled in that shit,” she muttered to herself as she gave the dual-type the widest of berths she could manage.

It was hilarious, too, she’d even come up with several code names for the damned thing—one of which involved a certain eldritch horror.

And she was pretty sure said eldritch horror wouldn’t want to be compared to that shit.

Unfortunately the next thing that she came across was something… that she wasn’t in the market for.

Sighing, she left the Sunkern alone—she was pretty sure there were more people who would appreciate the Grass-type. She wasn’t one of them.

And to think she was looking for two very specific Pokémon in the Safari Zone! Well, what was she going to do? She had no idea… honestly she just wanted to go scream in a corner about it.

Now, on to the next location!
