Augustin's sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, the stark white of his button-up blending in with the pale rock of Sootopolis. Out here in the middle of the ocean the heat seems somewhat starker, sinking into him until he wants to crawl out of his skin. He doesn't though, and sits still and unimpressed on a rocky ledge, looking out at the other fishermen in the area.

He has his own fishing rod in front of him, but he hasn't set it up yet. He knows the face of his target, as well as his habits. He's not surprised when his eyes find him at his usual spot, fishing by the side of a sizeable yacht. Augustin's careful to sit at a certain distance. Close, but not too close. He's supposed to be getting company some time soon, after all.

He makes no outward sign when he realizes that his 'partner' has arrived. Only when the man approaches does Augustin call out:

"Patrick! I thought you weren't coming!" His passive expression shifts into one of good cheer and he puts an arm around the man's shoulders. "Come on, let's get you settled before all the fish are gone."

And then they're walking to the chosen location. Once they are in a relatively private place, Augustin's eyes study the blond man - his cheerful expression, however, doesn't change. It is somewhat unsettling. "By the yacht," he says, voice low.

Augustin's unrelenting cheer is unsettling in the way that children's laughter in an empty room is unsettling: pleasant under normal circumstances, but not when something else was expected.[break][break]

Gavin adapts to this, as well as to the role of Patrick as he so often does.[break][break]

"Had a business meeting," is the excuse, and also a code: Rocket business. "I just managed to get away. They weren't making me miss this."[break][break]

Honestly, he doesn't care much for fishing. It had been a favourite past-time of his grandfather and he'd spent summers out on the water with the old man, sitting idle and waiting for a bite that might never come. It bored him, but it could be an excellent activity to allow one's mind to wander.[break][break]

It's his gaze that wanders now, spotting but not settling on the indicated yacht. A barely perceptible nod to show he's spotted their man.

He begins to set up his fishing gear.

Augustin feels a thrill as Patrick slides easily into his role, like a fish to water - so to speak. It is a welcome change from his daytime work to have colleagues who understand the intricacies of human behavior, even if only to adapt to a persona with some ease.

"I'm afraid the fishies haven't bitten yet," he answers the other man, using one hand to shield his eyes from the bright sunlight. There's movement in the yacht, but the blackened windows prevent him from seeing who's inside. If his information is correct, there should be at least two other people inside. Business transactions happen in the strangest of places, especially if you are filthy rich.

His fishing rod is set up nicely, and Augustin makes sure to keep his stance relaxed as he peers into the waters. "It won't be long before they do though," he says, warning his partner that the negotiations should be about to start.

As if confirming his suspicions, a man and a woman exit into the deck of the yacht and there's a second as Augustin searches for their names in his memory.

"How familiar are you with the local fishes, Patrick?" How much do you know about these people?

His languid smile conceals a pleased smirk. Augustin not only picks up on the coded message of his question, but responds in kind. Not every Rocket recruit lived up to the potential that Gavin glimpsed in them, and fewer still surpassed it.[break][break]

"All the commotion must be scaring them off."[break][break]

Gavin casts his line into the water, hook making a gentle splash and bobber coming to rest above it. Though the Rocket appears to have his eyes on the water, he eyes the yacht in his peripheral and notes the movement of two figures onto the deck.[break][break]

"I haven't fished these waters much," he replies. The line tugs gently as something nibbles at the bait, then swims away. "I've gotten a few tips from friends, though, so I should be all right."[break][break]

His division was not intel. That was Marcel's game; Gavin's operations were of a broader scope. Stealth operations, however, were his favourite kinds. He slips into the role of an actor with ease. As it so happened, marcel maeda was the friend he spoke of. He'd read through the dossier the admin provided him before setting out.[break][break]

On the deck of the yacht, something is exchanged.
