The blue sky is blotted out by smoke trailing off dangerously close to Petalburg Woods. Pokken Rider grimaces as he darts towards the flame, fearing what might happen if it spreads into the forest and the damage it might cause to the ecosystem.

Watts spark off from his boots as he runs, but without a vehicle or pokemon he can ride, he’s still limited in how fast he can actually move despite his minor enhancements. ”Bzzt. You’re almost there, boss.” a voice echoes from his comms.

”Yeah, just gotta hope we can do enough to stop the fire from spreading out.” he utters back, exasperated. He skids to a stop as he sees the raging inferno off in the distance. Taking a fighting stance, he stretches both arms outwards – his palms closed into a fist. ”Hydro Pump!”

As he yells, his vizor briefly glows red as the Liquid the Rotom speaks out from his comms. "Yes, sir!”. A panel pops outward from his gauntlets, revealing small barrels underneath as water begins to spout outwards. Suddenly a torrent of water sprays out, hosing down some of the flames in front of him. Yet, despite the wave of water being shot out, it’s not enough to quench the flames.

The damage dealt by the Megalopolan troops and the ultra-beasts is an extensive one. Even now, people are weary of any lingering effect that might remain from the war.

Pokken Rider kneels down against the ground, running his red gauntleted fingers across the dirt. There has been rumors of still-infected Pokemon roaming the area and the league has spread itself too thin to properly take care of everything. Thankfully, he’s willing to do all he can to help.

”Record these tracks down.” he says, briefly hearing static before ”Bzzt. You got it, boss.”

He slowly stands as he stares at the large tracks trailing off in the distance. His hands ball up tightly into a fist as his sight trails off to the distance, worried about what he might find; after all, he’s seen the news and even the reports. He’s seen all the gruesome details involved.

Between him and Pokkenger, the two manage to nab the criminal without causing any additional harm to the structures nearby. Just as the other hero is in awe of his suit’s functionalities, he’s in awe of the alien-like pokemon floating about. He silently watches the green-suited hero cuff the man against the broken-down motorcycle.

His head perks up at the sound of sirens approaching as he inwardly curses at himself for having to run away like some common crook, but before he can take off sprinting, the other hero is quick as he pulls him away into another corridor.

Grunting lowly, he follows after – already feeling the stress from having to run a good distance away. ”You think so?” he asks somewhat sheepishly. ”It’s not really superpowers, but more or less the suit itself.” he says, pointing down at the belt. ”You know how Rotoms are capable of possessing technology and are becoming more and more common thanks to things like Rotom phones, pokedexes and things like that? Well, there’s a rotom inhabiting the suit. That’s how I can do some of the things I do.”

As he reaches out to shake Pokkenger’s hand, there’s a loud buzz that comes out from his helmet’s speaker phones. ”Bzzt. Nice to meet you.” Shine the Rotom chimes in.

There’s chilling silence as the audience watches from afar – their eyes locked onto a single figure standing within the ring itself. Whispers begin to spread as they all begin to wonder just what kind of spectacle they’re going to watch.

A man, fighting a pokemon? Is that even a thing? While it’s understandable that some martial artists might spar against their own fighting-type pokemon, they typically never involve proper pokemon combat; after all, moves are dangerous and even potentially dangerous. Yet a mad-man stands within the ring dressed in a similar suit as Pokkenger.

Even the judge himself is left flabbergasted, but the money and ratings they might get for putting on such a circus show seems too good to pass up. Plus, he signed a contract exempting them from any legal issues should he get injured.

”Bzzt. Boss, are you sure about this? The suit hasn’t even been properly field tested.” a voice rings in from within the helmet. Hendrix grins beneath the mask. ”Why do you think we’re doing this?” he retorts, eager to field test the suit through a ‘proper’ pokemon battle. Besides, he technically wasn’t breaking any rules considering he was fighting with a Rotom powering his suit.

”Thanks, I made it myself.” he says somewhat sheepishly as he’s still feeling slightly awe-inspired from the fact that he’s met with the real Pokkenger. Yet, before he can properly bask in his own excitement, the other masked hero takes off, chasing after the criminal that managed to shake himself free.

“Shit, shit, shit.” The criminal bobs and weaves, ducking away as the strange looking pokemon fires off beams from its stinger.

”Bzzt. Uh, boss, you gonna do something?” Shine speaks out, bringing him back down to reality. ”Damn it.” he chides, suddenly smacking the forehead own helmet, feeling ashamed for letting his personal feelings get in the way as he breaks off into a sprint, following closely behind the Pokkenger.

”Thunder Wave protocols.” he says as he manages to sprint up next to the green hero. ”Bzzt. Aye, aye, boss.” Lifting his read gauntlet, he aims his palm over at the criminal as an electric pulse suddenly shoots outwards, zapping the man as it paralyzes him.

“What the fuck?!” the criminal cries out as his movement slows, stalling before he drops to the ground – unable to move due to the paralysis caused by Shine’s THUNDER WAVE.

He's alarmed at the sound of a loud crash. His helmet turns towards the noise as he quickly questions what he heard. "You hear that, Shine?"

"Bzzt. Yeah boss, I heard it. Sounds like it's about 1 kilometer away." the Rotom within his suit chimes. He quickly springs into action, scaling from rooftop to rooftop as electricity begins to spark from the suit. It's a good thing he's developed the Rotom Bike technology properly... He's faster than he's ever been thanks to it, rolling as he lands to the next roof.

From within his visor, he spots a man over a familiar figure, beating into it. "Is that...?" he pauses to ask, recognizing the green helmet almost immediately. His hand balls into a gauntleted fist. "Shine, Discharge." he utters lowly as he begins scaling downwards. Electricity begins to spark around him, gathering into the red gauntlet as he dashes madly towards the man.

He slides forward, punching outwards at him as he slams his gauntleted fist into the man's cheek. Electricity flares outwards as it blasts the man away as the DISCHARGE exits out from his fist, shocking the man terribly.

Looking down at Pokkenger, he offers a hand out. "You okay there?"

The lower district of Slateport City… once renowned for its splendid night market now reduced to a recovering slums and riddled with petty crime.

A red light shines from the vizor of his helmets eyes as he downwards from the rooftop of a building. It’s a damn shame that he didn’t have time to develop his suit any further. Static briefly crackles against his ear as a voice calls out to him. ”Bzzt. What’chu lookin’ for boss?” a robotic-like voice asks. Hendrix smiles to himself from beneath his helmet.

”Nothing, Shine. You manage to catch anything on the police scanner?” There’s a brief silence before the voice calls out again. ”Bzzt. Nah, boss. Everything seems quiet today.”

What a damn shame, Hendrix can’t help but thing to himself again as he’s interested in taking his suit out for a proper field run. ”Bzzt. You seriously thinking about using that name though, boss? Bzzt. Pokken Rider?”

His brow twitches. ”Hey, hey, hey. I’ll have you know, Pokkenger is an upstanding guy – he did more for Slateport than people give him credit for. Besides, he’s better than the others running around the street in costumes these days.”
