Though Shalin was trying to speak quietly, Elaine could hear every word she had to say. Though her demeanor had changed, even if for a short moment, the words were still colored with the same hue as her prior bombastic speech. With her head still rested on her legs, she spoke as well. "Yeah, it's definitely still a necessity. Though, it would be nice to see a day when people like me become obsolete."

Wherever the detective went, there was always crime to be solved, justice to be doled out. Though one could question whether it was simply a curse or whether it was merely the detective's propensity to always sniff out blood, in the end, that was a stark reality.

A world where people like her would become obsolete. Where people merely would not transgress upon others. A simple and almost childish dream--yet one that she would never stop chasing. No matter the extremes.

For someone like her who was chasing a childish and seemingly impossible dream, it would be remiss of her to dash the childish dream of the girl next to her. After all, Shalin's was far simpler, and far more likely attainable.

"Why be so uncertain? There's no need to be. In the end, you're only chasing that dream because you know you can make yourself worthy of attaining it. Simply by the existence of your dream, this level of reasoning is possible for this Ace Detective. What do you think?"

The young detective kept her gentle smile. Even as she heard Shalin's complaints about the heat, she could only chuckle. "Yeah, it's a summer in Hoenn. I'm a bit of the same, though. Sinnohan summers rarely come to close to as sweltering as it gets here in Hoenn."

Taking another drink from the soda can made her realize that the drink she had held had gone warm. It was a shame it happened so quickly.

As far as what she knew, Metagross could Mega Evolve. However, given the nontrivial number of large Steel-types (mostly Aggron) which had taken the Mega Evolution stage before her, Elaine absolutely wanted to take advantage of the chance to differentiate herself from the crowd ever so slightly.

Though she would have fancied a book or a journal type accessory for a key stone, the flying water everywhere wasn't the most conducive to that. So, she took something far more elegant, more befitting of the Pokemon she had chosen to bring on display alongside her.

A pocket watch with a stone swung before her eyes as the light from the stone embedded within erupted and consumed the Absol as they walked together, slowly but elegantly towards the end of the runway.

As the light faded, a new form emerged, sporting a pair of snow-white wings while the young woman stood by her side.

Well, it seems like we're the outliers in this group.

While what Elaine was seeing could hardly be called coordination, it was clear that the remainder of the group was all acquainted with each other in one way or another. It was honestly frustrating. In the face of sudden and imminent danger, they were all barking orders, covering for each other, and fighting back.

It was not easy. She was an outlier and she had already seen a dear partner of hers seemingly erased from existence. She gritted her teeth as she had seen two legends accompanied by two trainers immediately unleashing hell. And yet...

She felt another hand reach for her own. The one familiar face in this sea of infinite strangers had reached out to her. So, she couldn't let the primal fear permeating through her best her. Not just yet.

Grasping Violet's hand with her left, she pulled out a Pokeball out with her right and called out the Pokemon from within.

If this is really a data-like field, then we can use that to our advantage and mess with it.

"Astrape! Discharge!"

An electric attack for the flying beast of death and one that she hoped would alter the landscape in her favor. If the world around them was really centered around data, then that meant that electricity should break through. To overwrite the series of 0s and 1s with high voltage.
