"I'd simply like to know if you're worth following is all."

She keeps her composure but gives him a half look to the side, their feet soon meeting the solid concrete of the basements floor.

"I can only hope you aren't as foolish as him."

"While I respected your mentors ambitions, he went about them all wrong. By the time I realized he was completely off his rocker it was too late to do anything about it."

Though it's not like she would have done anything even if she did realize his instability.

"Take what I say with a grain of salt though. I don't plan on holding anyone's hand that puts themselves in charge. You're old and obviously knowledgeable enough to handle yourself and an organization... right?"

She gives a semi-wicked smile as she continues forward, a snap of her fingers causing the Rotom to expel a burst of electricity, lighting the room further and revealing a switch on the wall nearer to Cadis; not a Hypno to be found.

"Would you flip that switch please and thank you."

"Uh-huh. I rotom." She said in disbelief, figuring the man had just decided to blame his laziness on some random pokemon that came to mind.

"Sure, sure. I'll help."

She said skeptically, setting her things near the door as she began to call out to the pokemon.

"Here, rotom-rotom-rotom."

Her voice escaped as she slyly began cleaning up the mess, pretending to look for something she figured didn't exist.

Her face contorted to a look of pure confusion, giving him a look of 'what is wrong with you' before pointing to the alleyway.

"A voice aske- You know wha, Blue. We choose Blue, right? Blue. Say Blue."

Before she even began to explain she had become tired of him, choosing to take matters into her own hands.

She'd look to him with a confused expression, dumbfounded by his wording as he greeted her.

"What are you talking about? They're just Hypno, it's not that deep man."

Quickly she would stuff away her phone, waving for him to follow as they walked a few doors down, soon approaching a small gardening store. She moved through the front doors, exchanging pleasantries with the person managing the counter before the two were ushered to a cellar door, the employee returning to their station promptly after.

Marie would be the first to enter, forcing the doors open as she released a Rotom, the glow of its body lighting the way as they walked down the staircase.

"So whats your deal? What makes you stand out from all the others that you were chosen to be the one that leads us?"

So far he had only proven himself to be a bit of an oddball, the woman feeling slightly uneasy by his presence.

Marie listens, her hands sitting atop one another as she nods diligently, intaking every word Olivia had to offer until she had finished speaking. Her proposition was agreement locked behind Marie’s own initial agreement, a stalemate of sorts made with the simple exchanging of words.

“One answer I can give you assuredly is that we at Lupin Inc. are more than happy to aid the environment when we can. So far we have only invested in businesses that pose no threats to the environment and- when the time comes- plan to progress these businesses with eco-friendly methods.”

“Now, while I am not at liberty to give you a matter of fact answer to your proposal, I can pass this information onto Miss Lupin. A little more context would be appreciated, though- if you deem it not to be- is not necessary.”

Their arrival to Cadis’ apartment was a bit awkward for Marie, the woman entering only to greeted by the mans belongings strewn about the room. While it wasn’t the worst she had seen, the fact that someone who had lived alone lived in this condition was something she regarded as distasteful.

“Damn bitch, you live like this?”

Was the first thing that escaped her mouth, her question somewhat scornful as she continued to look around the room.

“Red or Blue”

A voice etched its way into her ears, the womans stopped in her tracks soundly, looking to the one who had accompanied her for a walk.

It would take a moment for her to regain her composure, looking to where the voice had originated, staring into the void that presented itself within an alleyway along the main sidewalk.

“Who are you and what do you want?”

The voice would not answer, only retelling its question.

“Red or Blue?”

Marie looked over to Cadis with a confused look and relayed the question.

“Red or Blue?”

Word had gotten up to Marie about some unwanted guest in a business Marie had taken under her wing, something about an infestation of Hypno in the basement level of said building. Usually she would make a call and have the lot of them evicted in a moments notice, but with how boring her work had been as of late, she decided to take the matter in her own hands.

It also gave her the opportunity to speak with another she had been meaning to catch up with, her superior in regards to rank, Cadis.

So after giving the man a call, she waited, attending to unread emails in the meantime.

The presence of another was felt moving in on her location, the young woman setting her belongings aside once the one she had been waiting for made her way into the room, rising at an even pace to meet her hand in her own.

“It’s nice to meet you too Avery. The location does not matter as long as we have privacy and I assure you that this is fine, so you need not worry.”

A soft smile set onto her face as she spoke, allowing Avery to take a seat before she did so herself.

“Lets get down to business then?” She asked as a predisposition to her furthing on with negotiations. “The business your grandparents and you take great care of is an absolutely amazing one. To pride yourselves on the wellbeing of pokemon, whether they be raised here or simply dropped off for the day is truly amicable as well as admirable.”

She would pause briefly, grabbing her belongings and setting them onto tabletop, an abundance of folders containing paperwork seen, if Avery’s eyes pried for long enough, as she removed a smart tablet, setting it onto the table.

Once it had been placed she would sort through a few digital files and select the one she had prepared for this particular meeting. It was opened and the tablet was nudged over to Avery, allowing her to have a physical view of the plans as she explained them to her.

“Miss Avery, what we at Lupin Inc. have planned for your daycare business is to expand its reach, not only allowing convenience to those in more locations, but also allowing you all more revenue.”

“Of course money is not the major pull here, but it is something that keeps your business afloat is it not?”

A rhetorical question but an answer was needed before she continued.

No business venture was to be undermined when it could be milked for a sizable profit, Maire knew this, having the same mindset when her job was as simple as making friends. The major difference this time around was the profit. No longer were they simple alibi’s to be made in order to stealth herself within a region unconquered, instead said alibi’s were created to fund the organization she had grown to care for thanks to new ownership.

The prey she had picked out for the evening was one she had set her eyes on when she was still in the small time, a business with potential growth yet untapped by modern production, a daycare.

The owners of the one she had her eye on were an old couple and their granddaughter, the charm of their own daycare and the pride taken in quality keeping an influx of customers.

It was the perfect business to sink her claws into.

She arranged a meeting at the daycare in question, a satchel set to her side as she entered, being greeted with the sight of pokemon playing behind a barrier, a few of their heads eagerly turning to her before going back to what they were doing.

It wouldn’t take long for the woman behind the desk to escort her to the back, a room set up for Avery and herself to speak. She would sit idly, taking in the rooms scenery as she twiddled her thumbs.

“All perfectly valid questions.” She mused in a gentle tone, her features calm yet neutral in their aspects.

“While It would do Miss Lupin injustice to give excuses, excuses are all that I can currently supply for her, my employer having other affairs to attend to in running her company. This does not mean she thinks any less of you for not personally meeting you- I am her most trusted employee after all- it is simply that a business is quite a lot to care after, as I am sure you wholly understand. I hope you feel no offense for the course of action Miss Lupin has taken.”

Immediately, and with hardly a breath taken, she would continue, hazel eyes focused on Olivia’s oceanic iris.

“Now onto why this meeting was arranged. To put it simply, we would like the support of not only you, but the business your family has created harvesting Clamperls. We think it would be beneficial for our company to have the approval of a distinguished professor of your caliber to better promote our products and manufacturing. Along with this we would like to better introduce your families claim into a wider market, whether this market be regions not yet introduced to what your family offers in terms of the distribution of pearls. We either aim to improve on said product with our own manufacturing or, if we do not see a reason to improve on the product, ship as is.”

Each word was spoken with purpose, not a single slip-up uttered with posture held upright. Fingers sat intersecting within one another on top the table cloth- only untethering once she had finished and reached for the pitcher- pouring herself a glass of water, then promptly taking a few gulps, setting both the decanter as well as her own glass back onto the table.

This moment would allow Olivia the chance to speak before Marie continued on any further, the young woman sighing quietly before looking back to the one opposite of herself.

Setting stages was easy, the only thing one had to worry about was if everything was in the correct place or not, the hard part came from the play that would follow, a hope of nothing going wrong heavily resting on the mind of the actors. This was a situation much of the same cadence.

This meeting with Abbiati would test Marie’s limits, the young woman truly seeing if there is a limit to how far she would be able to pursue the goals she held within this time frame.

The place of their meeting would be chosen by Marie herself, somewhere that would cater to all of their needs while also being an acceptable location to speak business. The location being was a seaside restaurant, reserved for the hours that they would occupy it, the only other inhabitants being employees hand picked by herself to present amenities when requested by either of them.

They would be sit at a table for two in the middle of the room, cleared of any unneeded decoration other than a white tablecloth draped over its surface.

Marie had enough time to give the room one final once over before the councilwoman had presented herself, Marie straightening out her clothes before meeting her halfway to the door.

“Good evening, Miss Abbiati. My name is Emilee Shou and I am a representative for Lupin Incorporated and secretary to Miss Lupin, current owner of Lupin Incorporated.”

She had extended a hand quietly as she spoke, expecting her to intercept within the introduction.

“Take a seat and make yourself comfortable, I’ll get us some water.”

Once she had finished introducing herself, Marie would move towards the kitchen, disappearing for a moment before returning with a waiter, two glasses and a pitcher of water upon a platter, the waiter quickly setting the glasses down and pouring the both of them a drink before returning to the back.

Once everything had been settled, Marie sat herself down, ironing out her dress quietly as she let Olivia set into a more comfortable position.

Once the door had been open for their meeting to commence, she would not waste any more time, allowing no more room for small talk or idle banter on either side.

“The two of us are not particularly well acquainted with each other but currently with how Rocket has evolved, I thought it would be best for us both to have a symbiotic relationship with one another.”

Her hands begin to move idly, one setting itself atop another as she continued speaking.

“While our peers have their own merits, they do not align quite so right with my own, or they have yet to give me a reason to single them out as I have done for you.”

She sighs, shaking her head and quickly getting to the point without any further delay, the need for trivial explanation overstaying its welcome.

“What I want is to expand your reach in business, raking in more money for our organization while integrating myself as well as you into a more comfortable position within society.”

A moment would be taken to let Anette soak in the information that she had been handed, a glass of water poured for herself and sipped shortly after.
