The question came as a surprise to the large man, though Mercutio turned his head to look at her. His green gaze looked from one bottle to the next, reading their labels and trying to figure out the best response to her question. While he didn't cook in the Apricot Household, he did help once in a while. He often picked up additional groceries for things and sometimes he had to help stir things in the kitchen. So he would sometimes ask about things, pick something up.Truthfully he prefered baking over cooking and there were times he made sweets for the children of the Apricot household. Course..he didn't bake for anything big. More for his own personal enjoyment and cheering up the two heirs.

"I believe that depends on just what you wish to do with it as well as the flavor profile you're looking for." Mercutio answered, putting his fingers to his chin as he pondered the answer still. "Skiddo shanks are tough, so braising it is the best way to go as that will help make it tender. What kind of dish are you preparing with the skiddo shanks?"

Once braised you could make it into thin slices for sandwiches, just leave the meat as it was in the oven, or even turn it into a stew. There was many possibilities for a dish.

Rought terriarn [W]

The empty land certainly had a...forboding feel to it. The empty land with sharp formations, the many nooks and crannies that something could be hiding it. There was a purpose to coming here. While Maybelle and Magnus were good pokemon to have, two pokemon wasn't going to help him very much in Team Rocket. Plus, people could recognize them easier...he had to come up with back ups to use. To help make it less suspicious he was the one odd man with a underbite, in a rocket uniform commanding a incineroar and granbull with those names....coincidences didn't go that far.

"Alright..." Mercutio muttered as he cracked his neck.

Taking a seat on a large rock, he kept his gaze open and fixated toward the more open area of this part in the pass. It was midday and thankfully it was a cooler day than most. IT certainly stood out in his spot, the only red thing there for miles possibly.

Mercutio said nothing as the vulplix was returned to it's pokeball. What did draw his attention back to her and caused him to stop an look was the sound of her falling. Turning, his green eyes spotted her on the ground and he already went down to a knee in order to get a better look at what had happened.

"Don't touch it." Mercutio instructed, his deep voice firm. "Picking out the rocks with your fingers will increase the risk of infection even with them being clean. Here, I can carry you there."

This wasn't good, that leg was going to need a doctor to look at. While he wasn't a doctor, he was used to see scraps and cuts, injuries and twisted limbs. Being a fighter allowed for him to see these things and he even experienced a few. Besides, it didn't take a genuis to tell that foot was badly hurt and no weight was going on it. He could just strongman his way with this, he could pick her up easily. She was smaller and thinner, she'd be light. And yet that would only make the situation worse, she would then flail if he did that. Scream and kick her protest. No. If he was going to help, he had to get her agreement on it.

Herding pikachus [M]

Pikachus. The highly popular electric rodent that never seemed to lose it's popularity. It was a cute pokemon but he wasn't planning on catching one. The pokemon wasn't a bad one, it just wouldn't really fit in with his appearence nor his team. Besides...it was a dime a dozen, sometimes it paid more to not embrace the flow of popularity. Some people might get the stupid idea that the pikachu must be unhappy with a ugly trainer. Shaking his head lightly, he pushed his glasses up a little more.

It was a sunny day and even from his spot at the start of the route he could hear it. The constant 'pikas' and 'chu' that rang through the air. Once in a while, he'd spot a flash of yellow darting by further up the road. The infestation was more like it rather than a swarm. A swarm at least could stay hidden. This? This was a full blown invasion force. Who knew that there were thunderstones buried around here! Maybe he'd try to dig for some once this issue calmed down.

His Incineroar sat on the ground beside him, the large cat glared down the route. Wanting to chase off the little rodents but they had to wait. Backup would be needed on this. For the sheer numbers that these rodents had, it would be stupid to go in alone. Even with his two pokemon, they could overwhelm him with a combined electrical attack. Thus, his 'partner' as the last piece needed before they could get this going.

Mecrutio honestly didn't consider this chatty, more explanation. The behavior of his two pokemon didn't seem to be a bad thing to him. They had a healthy rivarly. Despite Magnus wanting to shine brighter than Maybelle and Maybelle being very pleased in her power, they never took things too far. Even when the incineroar was a litten, Maybelle knew to handle her new sparing partner carefully. For a little while, she held back, restrained herself in order to help the small pokemon gain strength. Slowly over time, she introduced more of natural power in their spars as Magnus grew. It wasn't quite taking it easy on him, she never made fights easy even if she was holding back. She was older, so she knew to use some brains in them. Something that Magnus had taken to more. The fire dark type pokemon used their brains more, hence why it took them longer to strike the tree.

Spotting the vulpix, Mercutio doubted it was wild with how closely it stayed to Fay. Besides, that was a pretty pokemon and it's evolution even prettier. Having something like that in his team would be very out of place. So he focused his gaze on the path, once in a while keeping an eye on his two pokemon as they led they way; Magnus having escaped the temporary dog pile that they had been subjected to.

However with there being no other words said, Mecutio kept himself quiet. Slipping his large hands into his pockets as he walked. He could feel his wallet within and was already considering what he could buy that would ensure enough left over for what he was tasked with getting and what he could spend to get everyone else something nice.

Mercutio was glad that she agreed to it. Food would do well to soothe Magnus's displeasure over not being able to outdo Maybelle. The two pokemon seemed to be bickering; the granbull was more taking the angry feline's growls with a big smirk. Glancing over to them, he couldn't help but smile before he raised his hands and clapped. Causing the two pokemon to turn their attention to him.

"Alright, whose ready for some food?" Mercutio called.

The ears of the two pokemon perked and it seemed a race was on. Magnus had a head start since he was closer to the direction to head back to Mauville though that didn't mean Maybelle had no chance of catching up. Mercutio's smile remained as the two pokemon went past.

"You know where to wait for me to catch up." he told them before looking to Fay. "Ready?"

She seemed to be looking for something but he didn't really think it would be right of him to ask what exactly. Some people didn't like to have questions thrown at em for every little gesture. So he wasn't going to bother her. If she was ready they'd start walking down the road, Mercutio could still see the two pokemon he had. Maybelle had caught up with Magnus, seemingly doing a mock tackle and the two tumbled down the road a little. Angry hissing could be heard.

"Those two like to compete, mainly Magnus wants to show up Maybelle since he's grown up seeing her power." Mercutio explained. "They both have strengths but also weakness, they need those weakness to help their strength shine. His inexperience will fade with time, he's a little impatient."

Midnight task [m]

Truthfully, he didn't expect this. A call in the middle of the night for him to head down to the night market to do a job. Great. He hadn't expected this. Calls at night to go off somewhere. But he didn't refuse, he would just have to make sure that he'd get back before anyone noticed or woke up. The man needed his sleep too. This did make him considering getting a flying type pokemon, it would make traveling from points easier. But he managed to get there. A text went though to him and he looked down to it.

"You're partner should arrive soon." the text read.

Raising a brow, he closed the message down and put his phone back in his pocket. Alright then. So he was waiting for someone else to show up. Just a matter of time..the cold of the night air was registering though. Something he wasn't fond of. Figuring it was best to keep his pokemon in their pokeballs, he was just standing there. Leaning against a wall near the Night Market. Honestly he never been down here before, it was going to be a new experience but at the same time...what was the reprecusion? He knew what this was, he knew that transporting a illegal pokemon wasn't a good idea. If the Apricot family learned of it, he'd be in more than just legal trouble.

There was no way that Lord Apricot was going to cover his ass and keep things quiet. It was unlikely anyone in team rocket would as well. Just a risk wasn't it?

Suits him well huh? Well that was something he didn't considering. With how his wild sideburns grew compared with his underbite, he never really thought much about his hair. Yes he cleaned it and brushed it, he kept it as tame looking as he could manage. Combine these traits with a fancy looking vest, tie, and pants. IT probably did make him look stranger. But that was the thing, whether he wore a fancy suit for a wealthy meeting if the head of the Apricot family had kept him as....a heir or if he just walked around the lavish house in a suit cleaning, there was no difference. No matter which lifestyle he could've had versus what he had, a suit would always make him look...ridiculous.

"They have fierce personalities." Mercutio agreed with a nod, gesturing for her to watch. "In their own ways they are as well."

With that said, the Incineroar finally rushed the tree. Making a fist as the swung and then followed through with the movement. They weren't using any moves on the tree, this was a test of rare physical power without adding in the elemental power that pokemon were so reknown for. The tree would shake slightly from the hit and a second dent above the first was created. The incineroar folded their arms, triumphantly making a sound as they seemed mighty proud of their work. Mecrutio headed over to the tree and the tall feline moved out of the way for him to examine the marks left behind.

"Much better, though Maybelle still has the more damage." Mercutio said.

The feline lost their triumphat look and their arms unfolded, a look of confusion and shock was on their face. The granbull was pulled out of her watchdog activity, only to stand proud and stick her bigger tongue out at her companion. Which just made the cat very angry. Mercutio chuckled as he walked back over to Faya, just in time to hear her stomach.

"Training doesn't do very well on a empty stomach, takes away vital energy. There might be a food stall open in Mauville if you would to grab something there when we go?" Mercutio offered.

Was he offering to buy a total stranger something to eat? Yes.

Indeed his focus was on his Pokémon but that didn’t mean his Pokémon didn’t have his back. Magnus was distracted, the tall feline focused on how it would proceed with this exercise. Maybelle’s ears perked to the voice and a growl left her seeing the small woman’s approach, the hand still on her head despite her reaction. Mercuito glanced toward Fay from the corner of his eye at first, letting her ask her question before fully looking at her. The bags under her eyes and tattered clothes, coming up to him just to ask a stupid question...suspicious already but also revealing. She might be in need and not care how she gets what she wants or is just down on her luck. Either way, it be wrong to judge. Course with him ‘facing’ her, she’d notice his underbite.

”Just how it is.” Mercuric replied simply.

Removing his hand from the granbull’s head, the purple dog stayed close to its trainer. Clearly on the look out for anything that would come near. Mercutio honestly had his wallet in his pocket, so swiping that would be hard. If she tried to get a pokeball from him, she had a good chance of getting a empty one from his belt. Swiping something was going to be hard.

”Early training?” Mercutio asks her.

The incineroar unfolded their arms and started to adjust their stance. Clearly still motivated to show up the canine companion; whom of which wasn’t paying them attention. Instead they were keeping a eye out.

Grocer Power (O; DW)

Today was just a day to wander around, Mercutio had no duties to attend to. Nothing to really do here. So why not wander around instead? The tall man was used to the looks he was given, his underbite still noticeable and all he did was adjust his glasses as he walked along. Even though his...boss was nowhere around, he kept himself straight as he walked. Even alone he had to keep up appearances for the sake of the Apricot family. After all, if people learned just who he served then it would be easy for them to think that the hired staff by the family were slobs or just didn't care if they were seen slouching around as they walked. Looks....it all went down to looks sadly.

Holding in the sigh, he merely continued along. Only to notice something interesting, a man with a backpack...were grocery bags tied to the straps? That was a..interesting sight.

"Need any help sir?" Mercutio asked as he came to a halt, allowing there to be a comfortable distance between the two.

Originally, he was out here to go get some...groceries but, the store was closed for another hour. So there was time to kill, thus rather than remaining in Mauville city, he headed on up to Route 111. There was some trees here that could work decently for what he had in mind. Mercutio made sure they picked a spot that wasn't in the way of any travellers or wild pokemon nearby. A single tree stood against the edge of a small ledge, the tree was on level with the route and off the path. Though people passing by would still see the large man with his two pokemon.

The incineroar and granbull were beside him, the purple dog looked mighty proud and sure enough there was a reason for that. The tree already sported a nice dent, the mark left on the tree suggested that the grandbull had been the one to leave the mark in the tree. The incineroar stuck their tongue out at their canine companion, clearly not intimidated by their confidence. Mercutio chuckled, resting a hand on the large dog's head.

"You can't let her get to you, Magnus." Mercutio cautioned with his deep voice. "Now, approach this how you would. When you're ready, strike."

Magnus made a sound, folding their arms before directing their feline gaze at the tree. Where could they strike the tree that wouldn't affect the blow left by Maybelle? Where was a weak spot that could help them take the tree down? Despite neither of these pokemon being fighting types, they held that sort of air to them. Perhaps it didn't help that Mercutio had become a fighter in his own spare time.
