His lips pulled to a line, and he followed her finger. Diamond hues landed on the whiskey, "I don't know." He hadn't tried drinking since they'd joined, held back by the fear of what may happen. [break][break]

Quickly, Killian searched inside himself for the creature. The indescribable void in which it dwelled felt like stepping into darkness itself. Oppressive and all-encompassing. It still slept despite his earlier stir of emotion.[break][break]

Good.[break][break]

"But let's find out." he stepped away and over to the bar. Killian didn't bother with glasses, grabbing one of the whiskey bottles and taking it back to the couch. He sat down slowly, dusting the bottle off with his sleeve before unscrewing the cap and down a shot.[break][break]

It had been weeks since he felt the liquid burn of alcohol. Killian welcomed it with a smile despite the sting. After it settled in his chest, he waited. A single moment stretched on forever as Killian waited for it to stir. When it didn't, he handed Lex the bottle.[break][break]

"All good."

He made his way down the hall when it was clear Lex wasn't home. The silence surrounding him became an eerie reminder that he'd ruined something precious with his choice. His absence forced her away from homely warmth to the dank darkness of Rocket's sub. If Killian didn't hate himself already, he did now. [break][break]

A cold chill ran down his spine as he stepped into the living room. "Gardevoir." at least Lex hadn't left the house utterly empty. Diamond blues landed on the Pokemon for only a second before it dispersed into the shadows. It wouldn't be long before Lex got her now. [break][break]

Sighing, Killian rounded to the couch. The very spot where they'd had the conversation that saw them part ways. He stood motionless in front of the leather amenity, fingers curling into his palms as he recalled the events. [break][break]

Anger, anxiety, and so much more flooded his chest. The rush of emotion threatened to bring him to his knees, but he held firm. Firmer still as the thing that caused all of this began to stir. [break][break]

"No." Killian breathed deep, using the feel of Loveless brushing his leg to anchor his emotions. "Not today."
