The Quagsire was knocked to the ground, rolling around a bit as he struggled to sit back up. Finally, he managed to stand, before raising both hands. Slowly, a ball of light started to gather between them. "Quaaaaaaaaag..." he boomed, before firing a Hyper Beam with a loud "...sirrrrrrrre!"

The Quagsire let out a gasp as the Dark energy settled over him, then blinked and shrugged. Not having a held item, it seemed to have no effect on him. He then grabbed another fistful of mud, executing another close-up Mud Shot at Houndoom's face.

The Psychic-type move seemed to simply slip off Half-Moon's fur, doing no damage and completely failing to keep any hold on her. Snarling, she rushed to meet the punch with her own Headbutt, but as fist met head it became clear who had the advantage here. Staggering back woozily, Half-Moon let out a low growl of pain before collapsing.[break][break]
"Aw, man," muttered Cardamom as she recalled the Obstagoon. "That came pretty close! But Fighting-type moves are pretty much Half-Moon's weakness. And I'm guessing Exeggcutor could still have given her a bit more trouble."

Perhaps because he was too distracted by the beauty of the rain he had summoned, the Quagsire didn't even try to get out of the way as the Houndoom's fangs closed down on his side. He didn't even let out a yelp, simply picking up a ball of mud from the ground and mashing it into the Houndoom's face, looking more like a schoolyard fight than the Mud Shot attack it was meant to be.

The blasts of starry energy zeroed in on the Tentacool, who could only curl in to make sure they hit his bell instead of his more delicate tentacles. Cardamom winced, but called out another command. "Rapid Spin!" she yelled. "Take advantage of that Screech!" The Tentacool immediately started moving in again, spinning faster and faster before slamming into the Starmie like a buzzsaw...made of tentacles.

As smog filled the battlefield, the Quagsire started coughing, in an almost exaggerated manner, making Cardamom stare again. However, even as it did so, it raised its arms, and the ground around it started to churn, slowly mixing with the water from the rain before firing a blast of Muddy Water towards the Houndoom. Cardamom, not knowing what else to do, clapped.

Right, Starmie were part-Psychic as well. Zap winced at the hit, the jewels on his head flashing in distress as he backed away, staring intently at the floating star as if trying to comprehend what it'd just done. "Screech!" called Cardamom. Still keeping his distance, Zap let out a loud screeching noise, aiming to weaken his opponent's defenses. Honestly though, considering the lack of expression, Cardamom wasn't sure how she could tell if it'd worked.

Zap burbled a bit as Salem left the pool. Now that made much more sense. It was just Water-type on Water-type now. Cardamom chuckled at the trainer and Meowstic's antics, before calling out, "Start strong! Wring Out!" The Tentacool immediately started moving, tentacles emerging to wrap around the Starmie's extremities and squeeze as hard as he could.

We've got a food stall down with the others, my parents figured it'd be a great way to get some publicity." Zap, meanwhile, floated a bit closer to the duo, burbling curiously at his intended opponents. But since Cardamom hadn't said anything about starting the battle yet, he made no move to attack. That was how trained Pokemon did it after all, wasn't it?

But in the end, the double weakness to Fighting-type moves proved to be Half-Moon's undoing, and she slowly crumpled to her knees and went down before her opponent could. Cardamom cheered anyways. "That was really close!" he called as he recalled the Obstagoon. "You did really good, Half-Moon."

Before Copperajah could faint completely, another rock came rolling towards Nash. He tried to brace for it, but the sheer power made him release his jaws, letting out a yowl as he was bowled over, falling unconscious even as his opponent did as well. Half-Moon was preparing to face down the Golurk, but she didn't have enough time to prepare for its strike, which struck her right in the chest and made her skid backwards. However, she wasn't completely down yet. Her claws gleamed as she charged in, readying a Night Slash to tear as the earthen ghost's chest.

There wasn't time for her to get her arms up in time, so this time the beam struck Half-Moon head-on. Powered up by the sun, it sent the Obstagoon flying back, even as she dug her claws into the ground in an attempt to slow herself down. She hit the ground hard, and despite lifting her head to growl one more time soon went unconscious. Cardamom quickly hurried to recall her, though he had a smile on his face. "Wow," he muttered, "that's two legendaries you've fought now, Half-Moon! Not bad!"
