nope. still, delta had yet to dunk anyone, so, still they stayed. sagira watched as her daughter reeled back for another throw. at least the last one was better?

delta, though quiet, was alert. she knew what she wanted, and the hole she was digging with passimian was hardly more pressing than seeing virizion again.

even before matias gotten close enough to greet, delta stood and held the leaf high above her head, as though hoping to summon it now that he was in the vicinity.

sage looked over, and had to wonder: would it work? her eyes returned to matias, giving a low-energy wave as he approached. when he got close enough, she took the smoothie gratefully.

”hey. thanks.” she sipped, soon deciding, ”you still owe me juice boxes.” and she would get them eventually.

again, she looked over at delta, who was now coming closer, leaf still in-hand.

”yup. and she hasn’t stopped carrying that leaf around since virizion gave it to her.”

the six-year-old accompanying sagira was nowhere near satisfied with her last attempt. lingering, they waited their turn again, and delta took the pokeball in her small hand, and hurled it as hard as she could at the target.

her daughter had been the leader that week, sage merely trailing behind with a watchful eye as delta darted from booth to booth curiously.

when they got to the dunk tank, sage handed over the pokeball, and delta got into stance. her blue gaze narrowed, looking somehow even more like KING WAYLAND's as she hurled the ball at the target without a word.

after getting some krabby poboys for lunch, delta led sagira back to the clamperl diving area. this was definitely up her alley. though the girl didn't talk to explain, she seemed to fancy herself a treasure hunter lately.

they went back in, sage still swimming leisurely behind as delta swam ahead with her magikarp, eyes peeled behind her goggles.

it’d been a while. in fact, it’d been since matias had showed up at their house in fortree, drunk. the tension that she’d created prior was sure to still be there. she could feel it in her shoulders, as they approached the boardwalk.

delta had been holding her magical leaf since they’d left home. it had become one of her most beloved items. when matias was nowhere to be seen, the six-year-old held it up in question.

”i don’t know if virizion will be with him, del. maybe.”

she could only the legendary had its own will to follow.

lingering on the sidewalk at the edge of the beach, they waited. sage’s attention idly turned-on delta as she plopped on the ground and began digging a hole. the passimian that had come along with them sad behind her and began helping.
