"oooh, rich guy huh? guess i shouldn't really be surprised." he is the champion, after all. "mind if i use your card sometime, then? since you have so much money to spare."

"i'm sure there'd be a lot of orphanages who would love to have pairs of your old sneakers. imagine - being a kid, and being able to say, 'i'm wearing the champion's sneakers!'" her voice pitches higher as she mimics the 10-year old kid who would love to be kyle lopez.

there's something sweet and fond about seeing blythe rosewood again, a person so unblemished by the war that people like her and paxton concordas were scorned by.

[break][break] "i'm glad to see you again too, bly," she admits.

[break][break] as the conversation turns back to the new detail of her old friend, callie seems contemplative. "i guess you're right," she says with a short laugh. "especially since we're faced with the end of the world, right?"

[break][break] the officer leads them down the path and towards the graves they're about to protect. a sharp whistle to her side, and her lycanroc darts across the pavement, looking out for any sign of intruders.

[break][break] "don't worry," she says. "today, there's not much for us to do. we just have to make sure everything's all good at the gravesites — which shouldn't be too hard." she winks.

[break][break] a sudden, startled laugh is drawn out from callie and when she recovers, she flashes a grin. "well — we'll just have to work on that. part of being an officer is making sure you don't get lost — or at least trying not to."

"still, i do gotta say, hoenn's complicated. johto is much easier to navigate." she was still getting lost sometimes, but a quick text to Greyson Connors or MATIAS SILPH usually solved her problems. they knew the region much better than she did, after all.

[break][break] callie's busy looking at some birds that fly past that she almost doesn't notice the waterworks on blythe rosewood 's face. almost.

[break][break] "oh my god, are you crying? don't cry!" the officer closes the distance between them, swooping them up into a tight hug and twirls them around. "i'm glad we can meet again too. guess our schedules must have matched up, huh?"

when blythe rosewood had texted her, saying that she'd signed up for the corps, callie had been both surprised but excited. it was nice to see a familiar face even if they weren't stationed at the same precinct. nice as paxton concordas's face was, the captain could be morose at best these days.

[break][break] "hey," she says, waving when she notices the other approaching. beside her, her lycanroc wags his tail in greeting. "took you long enough. did you get lost?" she teases.

"ooh secrets with the great champion?" her gaze twinkles with amusement. "i can get behind that."

[break][break] though something tells her that it probably wasn't a very big one. it wasn't as if kyle lopez was screaming his passion for his job to the rooftops. or at least, that was as much as she could garner from the few interviews she'd seen him in.

[break][break] "hm," she taps her mouth as she considers it, dancing around the side of the cliff. "not sure — it seems like it'd get kinda boring for a while. maybe i'd ask for a discount everytime i went shopping."
