It's weird, but it's also a huge relief to see CALLISTA MOON again. He's glad she's alive, and at least physical well from what he could tell. She's mentally well enough to join back up with the police force. He's happy for her, and happy to see her again. Despite their differences, she'd been a long standing confidant and he liked to consider her a close friend. Maybe that's why they were working together so often again. He's not worried about accomplishing their task together. She's more than capable without him. He's just...nervous. It'd been a while since they'd spoken after all. He's thoughtful, maybe a little remorseful even and the weather doesn't help. Cloudy skies rumble wit h the threat of thunderstorms above. "Moon." he returned just as easily, despite himself. He doesn't have the heart to correct her though. She'd get it eventually. He attempted a smile, its forced and tired. [break][break]

paxton concordas has always been serious, but these days he looks downright morose. it was depressing to look at.

"And you know I'm retired." He returned, though he still smiled. "I'll be lucky if I make detective." He added with a snort. "Mmm maybe. Its been a while, and I haven't seen you much with all the ranger corps shifts." He said as if still debating. If she had plans though- [break][break]

"Great, you can take me out for a change." He said, cutting to the point. His way of asking to hang out. He wanted to catch up. "I feel bad I haven't really been able to help you adjust to Hoenn…" he had left her a letter but… [break][break]

He led her towards the lighthouse before adding, "Joules will be happy to see you." He said referring to the Magnezone that often followed and coordinated with him. The place is quiet but he can hear a slight, loud wheezing echoing from up above. "Hello? Einstein?" He called out gently to alert the Ampharos that they were coming. "I'm here about your check up at the pokemon center?"

she gasps. the audacity!

[break][break] still, callie grins at the light teasing. ever since they met up in hoenn, she thought he'd been far too depressing. war was over. well, sort of.

[break][break] with a yawn, her arms stretch up over her head and then folds together as she leans up to look at the blue sky. "don't be. i can take care of myself, ya know." he did know. perhaps a little too much. it had been what caused the rift between them in the first place -- why she'd stayed behind.

[break][break] as they near the lighthouse, however, callie straightens and assumes a more professional position. one hand on the halter of her belt, the other watching paxton concordas as he carefully calls over to the inhabitant of the lighthouse.

"Call it evening the score after all those meals I prepped for you." not that setting up an MRE heater was the equivalent of doing a dish but he'd always tried to be nice during meal time. "Guess so." That much is obvious. He'd put his life in Callie's hands a thousand times over. There's a reason he'd worked with her so long. "But I wanted to." he continued. [break][break]

The lights seemed to flicker on and off warily before there's some shuffling around. He nodded over at his partner as they began their ascent. "Einstein...c'mon kiddo the Nurses were making poffins." he added as if trying to coax a child out of their bedroom. There's a huff as a large yellow pokemon came to meet him and Callie, scowling as it rose from its bed. [break][break]

He turned to Callie before nodding over at the old Ampharos. "Think you can talk to him while I check their generator." Instructions had been straightforward. Look for leaking, damages, battery acid, corrosion. Big parts like these needed to be maintained constantly.

callie wasn't the best cook, so those meals had helped. especially the premade ones. everything else she'd relied on people like Eva Morales to cook, as had most of the recruits past in kanto had done.

[break][break] despite his eternally depressing face, paxton concordas could be quite cute when he wanted to.

[break][break] "nope! you do it, cap!" she says, bouncing past the old ampharos and heading directly towards the generator. hell if she was going to be caught making small talk with a pokemon of all things. especially an old one! nah, paxton could do that. he was leadership-material, after all.

[break][break] callie slinks along the wall and eventually finds the old generator.

[break][break] "uh, cap. i think we've got a problem?"

[break][break] a pair of omanyte and omastar were sitting atop the generator, leaking water into the vents.

"Yeah, yeah." Paxton waved off Callie's comments not wanting to dwell too much in how much he cared. He did. He just wouldn't ever voice it. Not well anyway. Not anymore. "Yooou got it, Moon." he said as his partner rushed off to deal with the generators. He moved over to the old Ampharos who eyed him suspiciously until he opened up a pink lunchbox for the Ampharos. The snacks inside were supposed to be his favorite. Packed by the nurses themselves in charge of his care. [break][break]

Einstein is more interested in him now and he carefully set down the food for the electric type before looking over to Callie. "Moving." he called out, stepping past the Ampharos and looking over the generator. The two fossil pokemon seemed more than content puddling over the generator. How on earth? [break][break]

"Why are they so high up? They're water types aren't they?" he said to his partner before Joules beeped something and sparked a little. Paxton glanced at the windows before looking over at Callie. "Think we can launch them into the ocean if we throw them out the windows hard enough?"

"How'd they...get here..." he wondered with a snort. The pair eyed them but didn't seem suspicious. Especially when Paxton reached into his bag and retrieved a couple of treats for the pair. He'd packed them incase the crotchety Ampharos gave them problems. The pokemon seemed attentive and he tossed them a couple to get the min a better mood. [break][break]

Teal eyes move to Callie, expression deadpan before he lets out a snort. "I think I can manage." he said before moving to testing the windows. Eventually he found a latch or two. As soon as he opened large, bay windows the smell of salt and brine flooded the chamber. [break][break]

He lets out his Solrock before looking at Callie. "This is Altan. Altan, Callie. My best friend." he stated. The dual type spun once in greeting before looking over at the current problem. Pax meanwhile, held Callie's gaze. "Altan, put them back in the water please." he said. The Solrock closed their eyes before they suddenly snapped open, PSYCHIC glowing around it as well as the pair of water types before they were levitated off the ground and throw far into the surf, away form rocks and the cliff the lighthouse stood on.
