Lana isn’t aware of the little dust devil, focused more so on staying still and staring straight at the camera and Nagi. By the time he realized something was wrong, it’s too late. The closer Watson gets, the more Garbage Baby trembled with excited barking the close the electric type got. He’s unable to escape though, and Watson crashed into them both. The trainer let out a lout ‘OOF!’ pushed back into the dune, arms loosening around his partner. The Linoone didn’t seem as harmed, easily tumbling off his trainer and with the friendly Shinx before stopping on his back as well.

In an instant, Garbage Baby is up and shaking himself of sand before barking loudly and running circles around the Shinx, sniffing at him curiously. Lana is worse for wear; baseball cap flung a foot away and wheezing as he lay in the sand. “Ugh…” he moaned weakly propping himself up on his elbows. “D-Did you…g-g-get the pictures?” he mumbled shaking the back of his head free of sand.

The trainer he stopped is quick to pick up on what he meant and didn’t push further. Lane held back a sigh of relief letting go of Garbage Baby and watching the Linoone slump into the sand. He got up quickly, unlocking his phone and handed it over to Nagi. “B-…Both?” he didn’t have a preference but…maybe victor evans did? He seemed easily pleased, and maybe this was true. Still, he didn’t want to just do something poorly. The photos were his as well to remember. “I-I just n-n-need a-a couple.” He added quickly, hoping to emphasize how fast it’d be. He dind’t want to take up too much of their time or risk annoying them. [break][break]

“Oh- uh!” he turned back to where he’d been sitting, shaking Garbage Baby as the pokemon dozed off in the heat. “Hey! C’mon-!” he whispered as the dual type lifted his head up just enough to give a surprise lick at his trainer, who let out a laugh. Fair arms scoop up the playful badger pokemon before he plopped back on the dune. Garbage Baby’s eyes where everywhere but the Nagi and his camera. The second he spotted Watson he seemed to get even more rowdy. It’s a struggle for a moment, until Lana dipped his head towards his partner and whispered some sort of bribe. Instantly, the pokemon was well behave and staring directly at Nagi and Ruslan pointed at him. “Cheese!”

He was struggling, that much was evident by the front on his face, and the way Garbage Baby was lying limp in his trainer’s arms. They’d been sitting on the dune for a good 20 minutes while Lana did his best to try to take a selfie of himself and his partner to send to victor evans . But, for whatever reason, his hands were never steady. Even when he thought he was relaxed, perhaps he was still too nervous. [break][break]

He dind’t have a reason to be. No one had come around to bother him or spoken to him. No one had shown up to accuse him of loitering. They wouldn’t now, shouldn’t now. He was well groomer, looked decent enough, had money. Still… “M-Maybe….I’m just bad at taking picture Garbage Baby…” he murmured as the fat badger yawned loudly, tail lazily thumping against his trainer before giving the underside of Lana’s chin a lick. Ruslan snickered moving his head away before dropping his Linoone onto the sand with a soft thump. “I’ll just…ask somebody…” he decided, smiling to himself as he looked around. But every person he glanced at gave him a rush of nerves, and he quickly looked away to avoid speaking. “This…might be harder than I thought…I just want a photo…” he complained, barely audible above the crashing waves. But he didn’t give up, merely huddling close to his Linoone before lifting his head and carefully trying to build up the courage to stop someone. “U-Um, E-Excuse me!” he asked the short words easily pushed out of his throat with minimal stutter. He held up his phone to avoid explaining too much. “I-I-I…I w-was…tha- that is…” despite his determination prior he slowly began lowering his head in shame and disappointment.

Garbage Baby, because he chronically operated on 0 to 1 braincells, wasn’t at all scared at the Lycanroc, only happy to have been noticed. His fat tail wagged, welcoming the strange pokemon. His head eventually turned to the Espeon. Not quite registering her annoyance with him. Though before he can try to lick her face, Otto carried him up. The Linoone didn’t resist, happily relaxing in Otto’s arms and looking at Lana happily when they approached. [break][break]

Lana’s eyes grow big as he spotted the trainer and his partner, bee lining for the group and nodding profusely. He seemed relieved to the point of tears but managed to sniff his way through them. “Y-Yes! I’m r-r-really s-sorry!” he said, though his pokemon didn’t make a move for his trainer, content in Otto’s arms. There’s a small pause at Lana rubbed his face before frowning at his partner, who was busy still cuddling the stranger. “H-He does t-t-that….i-it’s because I-I spoil h-him. A-And he l-l-likes to cu-cuddle when I-I’m sad.” He added taking level breaths as he looked at his feet and tried to explain the pokemon’s rude behavior. [break][break]

“W-We…um…” He decided instead of explaining to show Otto his little cardboard and the plastic planchet that housed a clear ball in it. “Try-Trying a s-s-séance…and t-then I n-needed a ba-bathroom.”

Lana flinched as Felix walked in, sitting up straight in the water expectantly. When the man didn’t say anything, he still didn’t relax. His eyes went to Felix’s chest and his arms, eyes darting as he found scar after scar. He felt afraid, intimidated. What did August’s brother even DO?! So he kept quiet, trembling a little as the older man submerged himself into the water. Garbage Baby panted lightly, waiting for Felix’s head to bob up before paddling over to the man and letting out a bark in greeting. Lana took that as his cue to speak up as well. [break][break]

“H-Hello!” he greeted, tentatively moving closer to the merc. “T-T-This i-is G-Garbage B-B-Baby!” he said and the Linoone let out another bark before rudely moving in to give Felix a good face lick. “I-I um….N-N-Nice t-to m-m-meet y-you, F-Felix.”

Lana sighed in relief as Yukina and Garbage Baby placed well this time. Now for their next act. Beauty appeals only, right? He turned to Yukina who had already been through this once before looking at Garbage Baby who was on his back resting. “Yeah, you’ll be fine.” He said with a small sigh as he prepped little props before it was their turn to set the stage. HAIL began to fall as the trio reappeared on stage, dropping the temperature, and setting the scene. The light ice fell and clinked onto the polished surface. “D-Despite Beauty’s initial wariness, she found herself accompanied by the Beast. I-If asked she would say it was because she didn’t want company. IF asked he would say it was because no one else wanted h-hers.” [break][break]

The pair seemed to take their time moving forward towards the center of the stage, The Froslass mostly looking annoyed while the Linoone ran around her and stopped to sniff the ground every so often. The HAIL grew stronger as he did, but he seemed largely unbothered. “He’d always accompany her, rain or sh-shine.” Now the narrator found himself covering his head, having gotten stuck in the back right corner of the stage. He hated this act, but it was all they had right now. “Sometimes he’d bring her wi-wild flowers.” [break][break]

The lights seemed to darken, and winds began to swirl. The stage was buffeted by howling winds, snow, and ice. “Th-then one day, the weather turned.” [break][break]

Both pokemon are slammed by gusts are pushed back, struggling to move along. The Froslass tried to take control of the storm but its too much and she’s buffeted mercilessly. Garbaby Baby, for his part moved in to support the ghost, tail wagging furiously behind him despite his slow demeanor earlier. “While dangerous, the Beast is glad he’s there to mind Beauty’s back as they hunkered down together amidst the storm.” The pair of pokemon settled together, curling up for warmth as snow slowly piled on top of them. The BLIZZARD shifted, it’s eye moving to center on the pair before slowly but surely disappearing. [break][break]

With a happy bark, the Linoone popped his head out of the mound, Yukina clinging to him exhausted form the event. As she let go, Garbage Baby gave her a quick lick before the pair climbed out of the snow.

When August Gallagher and his partner don’t perform, he’s concerned but Yukina doesn’t let him dwell over even try to find the young coordinator. Her ice-cold hands clamp around his face staring intensely into his eyes. “Y-You got me; I’m running out of stories.” He hissed back before yanked his hair hissing and shrieking in the privacy of backstage. “Just- ok! Ok! Ok! Yukina just- showstop ‘em” he said tugging the little ghost off him. [break][break]

The lights dim low and take on a shade of blue. From both sides of the stage an eerie fog rolls in. A spine-tingling chill ran down the spine of every person in the audience. The only sound is wind. Center stage, Yukina moved forward, floating idly. Lana took his position directly behind her further back, his voice still audible through the speakers. “Those who encounter her, consider yourselves forsaken. F-for she is beautiful as she is deadly.” An ominous bell rang out, music layering over the wind. [break][break]

He stepped forward, face hidden by a hood, and the ghost’s eyes snap open, glowing an intense yellow to the crowd. She turned her head towards Lana, and the music grew intense and panicked, mirrored by the narrator himself. [break][break]

The winds pick up for real this time, cold energy swirling around Yukina’s form. The glow in her eyes is still ominous as it shifted to blue. Bits of ice and snow began whipping around the stage, concentrated on the pair. Lana kept his eyes squeezed shut as he tried to step back and escape, but the BLIZZARD Yukina commanded only seemed to force him deeper into the eye of the storm. His reckoning upon him. As Lana pleaded for his life, his voice trembled, trapped in the very fate he had tried to warn the audience about. Forced to his knees he continued as the music softened and familiar bells rhythmically rang out, “You can try to a-appeal to her e-empathy, humanity, but in the end…” A particularly violent gust blew him back, sending him skidding backwards some distance, while the Froslass closed in as the music reached its finale. “That’s long gone.” The storm dies out, she raised Lana up. “You will find you have joi̷n̵e̶d̷ ̵h̸e̸r̸,̵ ̴i̴n̵ ̷t̵h̴e̵ ̶e̶n̸d̸.̶” His voice grew warped. He opened his eyes staring at the audience with haunting, glowing red eyes. [break][break]

Whereas before he had wandered into the previous distortion pocket, Lana found himself actively going into this one. Escorted by his male and female Frillish couple, the trio were quick to move into the distortion, holding onto each other for dear life. The same strange sensation overcame him and he once more felt nauseous. This time he can’t hold back the sickness that racked his body, clinging to his pokemon while leaning off to the side as far as he could to wretch into the seawater. [break][break]

The place is strange, surreal. And he almost regret coming in here, but he was curious. The little Zorua that had followed him out of the woods last time seemed to be at ease despite her surroundings. Lana’s hair tickled his face, and upon inspection he realized he’d aged once more. Or at least, changed a big. His hair had been short a few minutes ago. Now he was stuck with a lopsided mullet. Whatever. He let out his other Zorua, the little dog pokemon shaking and looking around curiously before it began to shiver. Softly at first, its teeth chattering. [break][break]

And then it got worse and worse until the poor thing couldn’t stop vibrating. Lana grew ever more concerned before its breath started coming out in thick clouds of white and the fur on its back began to bleach. “Oh gods- oh shit-” he began panicking as he looked around for help. This was a bad idea. It hadn’t even been 20 minutes and weird shit was happening. He could accept his appearance shifting but whatever his pokemon was going through did not seem good either. The group backtracked it out of the distortion and Lana held his pokemon over seawater as he wretched into the water like his trainer. When he was done, he was completely changed. White all over, with soft yellow eyes. He brought the poor bastard closer. “Sorry, are you ok now?” he asked. The pokemon let out a soft yip before Lana borguht him closer in for a cuddle. “It’s been a day, let’s just cut it here.” He said before nodding at his team and heading back home.
