”Good evening, Slateport City!” The time has come for the first round of the ♡ Love Contest, and a crowd gathers at Slateport’s contest hall. Hearts bearing Piazza Oro Grande Bank’s logo decorate just about every corner of the amphitheatre, for this is an sponsored event, and it’s no other than the bank’s own CEO that stands on the stage. Once the premise for the contest has been declared, the judges introduced, and the rules explained, Mars casts a smirk towards the audience.

”It’s the season of of love, and one thing is for sure…”

It's then that, on cue with the music, WATER SHURIKENS suddenly break through the air, spinning around the stage at incredible speed and then coming crashing down in loud explosions of droplets. Among them, as if suddenly appearing after perfectly blending with with the water blades, a SWIFT Starmie spins as well, miniature shining stars being released by its body while fluorescent light is reflected off its blue gem. It makes a perfect landing right next to Mars, letting out a proud cry. ”Love can be pretty damn cool!”

A jet black Greninja the audience is all too familiar with appears then, striking its signature pose.

”The time has come! Our contestants are ready and the stage is set... Let’s hear them introduce themselves!”

Each contestant may earn a maximum of seven points per round, these points (appeal hearts) will be determined by different factors, such as following contest guidelines and matching the condition and theme for a specific round. Generally, you can expect it to look something like this:

Additional, points may also be discounted from your score for the round for using moves that cause discontent, not following the themes, and excessively surpassing the word cap. He’d tried, really.

However, the two idiot Wooloo’s adopted child couldn’t ride along with Alex (even stuffing her into an inside pocket of his suit or having her ride on his shoulder would count, yes, she was that tiny) didn’t fly, so instead he’d had to set her down on one of the side wings that opened to the stage.

At least the sight of her dads calmed her down; so there she was, starry-eyed and watching as the two-Wooloo parade went out first, spotlight trained on them followed by Alexei himself.

And yes, he’d brought the dapper cane out of storage since it went so well with his outfit for this part of the contest.

“Who said that love has to be limited to just the binary?!” he began, flashing the crowd his most charismatic smile.

It was no secret that the Fortree Gym Leader himself was gay as the day was long, after all.

William (who absolutely refused to remove the crown), the normal-colored Wooloo, bleated loudly (and very proudly) at this statement. Smokey, on the other hand, had to resist the urge to roll his eyes at his partner’s excited enthusiasm; instead choosing to play the part of the cool, yet snarky black-wooled Wooloo on the stage.

“Will’s the charming troublemaker, but Smokey’s the one who keeps him in line!”

Taking his cue, William took off with a running start, chaining into an Agility-fueled leap that made Smokey, who remained down on stage, roll his eyes for all of 0.5 seconds before summoning up a crackling sphere of electrified energy—and took aim.

The Electro Ball bursting into tiny little sparkles above William’s head made him look like he was sparkling too as he came down for the landing.

After William landed down on the stage without even a scratch (thanks to their thick wool), Alexei took the chance to continue.

“Will was very lonely, at first. I could tell, because I relate to him in that aspect. Smokey’s eventual arrival cheered him up. Even if Will drives him up the wall, the way he acts, you could say they have the ‘tough love’ act going, however they really do love each other very much.”

As if to prove that point, Smokey walked over and gently nipped at William’s floppy ear, and in return William turned around to boop his partner on their heart-shaped nose.

William the Wooloo used Agility! (Cool; causes the user to move earlier on the next turn.)
Smokey the (shiny) Wooloo used Electro Ball! (Cool; excites the audience a lot if used first.)

"Love is in the air, Slateport! Can you feel it yet?"[break][break]

Now this is the kind of contest she was born for. As an ardent admirer of all things romantic, Luka is perfectly in her element as the Love Contest begins. Her excitement is palpable as she steps onstage, waving at the audience before tossing two Pokeballs in the air.[break][break]

Twin Love Balls release seals of sparkling hearts before revealing the Pokemon within. An Espeon and shiny Umbreon appear on either side of the stage as the residual effect of the seals float around them.[break][break]

"They say opposites attract, and the sun and the moon are no exception. Though their heavenly bodies are kept apart in space, their love is what makes the world go 'round. How tragic, then, for them to be separated!”[break][break]

The two Eeveelutions cast longing looks towards each other.[break][break]

“But their spirits are manifested in the Pokemon here today. The sun resides in Latte, the Espeon! So pure and kind is she that she melted the heart of the moon, who had before only known darkness.”[break][break]

The Umbreon swishes her tail, a single rose clenched in her jaw.[break][break]

“Espresso, the moon! Entranced by the beauty of the sun, she stepped out of the shadows and into the light. Bold and determined, she relentlessly pursues the object of her desire! But one cannot catch hold of sunlight so easily.”[break][break]

On cue, Latte leaps back to perform a Double Team, her body splitting into a dozen apparitions that elegantly zip around the stage. “The sun has a test for the moon…can she tell the real one from all the imposters?”[break][break]

Espresso turns in a circle, carefully appraising each double. Yellow eyes gleam as they narrow. As testament to her love, she knows exactly who’s most dear to her![break][break]

With another cry the Umbreon leaps into the air, her body wreathed in light as it moves at lighting speed. Using Quick Attack, she zig-zags across the stage in a star pattern to remove each imposter.[break][break]

Each double fades as it's struck, bursting into a shower of violet sparks. Soon only one remains, and Espresso yips in delight as she reunites with her beloved. With a debonair bow, she presents the rose to Latte.[break][break]

The Espeon accepts it happily, a spark of psychic energy tucking it into place behind her ear as the two Eeveelutions nuzzle their cheeks together.[break][break]

Temp cheers along with the crowd for both Alexei Ivanov and luka chêne. He was nervous; having never been in a Contest before, this was scary!

"Okay, team!" He called out, which echoed over the mic to the crowd- whoops! Temp winced but still shouldered on.

Which... wasn't that impressive. The crowd has quieted down and it was just Temp pushing a squeaky wheeled tank of water on stage. Someone in the audience coughed when he was done. The tank was massive- taking up the whole space. Jogging in front of it, Temp grinned wide and tossed up two pokeballs high into the air.

"So! Who wants to know a fishy love story?" Shadows appeared in the water, a Double Team by his Feebas making dozens of the species swim in time in the tank behind him. "This young lady here was all alone around Pacifidlog. We're not sure how she ended up there since Feebas usually live in fresh water." The Feebas spins in a circle, so all her copies spin as well.

"Well, turns out she wasn't the only loner!" Zipping through the water, a heart shape uses Agility to break apart the copies one by one. "Luvdisc mate for life, but one of the Luvdisc at the conservation had always refused to mate. We hoped releasing her into a colony of her kind would help... but instead she found our Feebas friend. It was love at first sight!"

The Luvdisc finishes breaking apart the copies and charges at the Feebas- crashing into her to plant a fishy kiss on her head. The two fish swim around one another and cuddle together.

"Now, this Luvdisc and Feebas are a mated pair- of ladies! Aren't they cute?"

- Feebas used Double Team - Cool - Can avoid being startled by others once.
- Luvdisc used Agility - Cool - The next appeal can be made earlier next turn.

Once again the spotlight has called to them. Who was he to deny it’s call? Lux appears on the beautifully lit stage all alone. His outfit is stunning, nothing short of what a prince would’ve worn in the ancient days of Renaissance Kalos. His attire glows snow-white, subtle pink itched in to highlight and a beautiful flowing clip-on cape drapes down their broad shoulders, like a river of sparkling lavender.[break][break]
Letting the mystery of it all soak in to the audience, the hands behind his back reveal two tiny Moonballs between his fingers. With a quick press of a button they increase in size, and they’re promptly flung to the air as a white glow lights up the sky. Splendous decals of pink and orange shower down on the audience as Meowstic and Braxien descend gracefully onto stage. But, what’s this?[break][break]
It seems their appearances differ! On a closer glance, Meowstic wears an Espurr-style hoodie over it’s form, while Braxien adorns a cloaked hood which resembles it’s past evolutionary form, Fennekin.[break][break]
Lux claps his hands, requesting silence amongst the excitement of the ever-curious crowd. He hums, voice clear as a ringing bell whilst his gaze looks over the sea of people. [break][break]
“Since the very beginning these two have been by my side, alongside each other. Although they’re quite close now.. That’s not how it always was. This is a story of beginnings, and I hope you’ll listen!”[break][break]
Lux fades back into the darkness of the stage as the spotlight shines fiercely on the two. However, his voice can still be heard![break][break]
Perfectly timed, Meowstic’s mouth moves to the sound of Lux’s voice. A blue paw points forward, accusatory:[break][break]
“I don’t know who you think you are. But I was here first! I’m Lux’s friend!”[break][break]
In an eerie glow Meowstic stares down the female fox, glaring hard, leering through her very soul.[break][break]
“What’s this? A Fearsome clash of personalities is at play!” Lux interjects giddily, then allows the story to continue.[break][break]
Braxien huffs and approaches the Meowstic, practically touring over him. All at once her claws elongate and glow, then in a blink of an eye. Swat! She swipes right at the pesky feline and Meowstic pretends (but very convincingly!) to tumble backward.[break][break]
With the pride of a Pyroar, Braxien smiles, smugly at that. “Better get used to me, little kitten! Because Lux is my friend too!”[break][break]

Behind the stage, while Mars is giving the opening introductions and while people move in and out off the stage to give their own opening performances, Remi is smothering her babies with love. Several rapid, repeated, aggressive kisses are planted on Teddiursa's face to the point where the cub grumbles and giggles, pushing the woman away from her with pleading paws.[break][break]

The Meowth stands off to the side, appearing bashful and shy while her best friend is being smothered with affection. Remi side-eyes the kitten for a moment before bringing her in too to plant one last messy smooch against the Meowth's coin. [break][break]

"Okay, babes. We're gonna retell the story of when we first met, okay? You remember, you little bastards, I know you do."[break][break]

She pinches cheeks and ushers them onto the stage. Given the stellar performances already, Remi was admittedly a bit intimidated by the expectations. But she was here to push past her comfort zone, so so be it.[break][break]

"We all love a love story, right? Well.. how about this one?"[break][break]

She gestures to the pair and they assume their positions. Remi appears to be acting as the big bad, or is she? As she steps closer to them, Teddiursa begins to growl, putting up a great performance of confidence and enthusiasm. Meowth opens with a fierce SCRATCH outward, followed immediately by the cub tackling the open air, SLASHING an invisible opponent while Meowth presses into the cub's back.[break][break]

"When I found them, Teddiursa was valiantly defending this Meowth from a pack of Poochyena. As it turned out, the pups just wanted to play. But Meowth is a bit of a fraidy-cat and misunderstood. I knew right then that I wanted 'em both."[break][break]

Once the Poochyena foes 'disappear' the two huddle up together wrapped up in each other's arms.[break][break]

"Stuck like glue and prepared to defend each other through thick and thin, no matter the odds. They'd sooner leave me in the dust than leave each other."

The fanfare was immediate as Barnaby stepped onstage for the first time. This was a perfect contest debut for a man so enamored by the allure of romance. The journalist figured it would be excellent publicity for his show, too, which might explain the roar of the crowd. His fans came to support him.

"Bienvenue, Slateport! I have a cautionary tale of love and loss that I'm excited to share with you tonight."

As the spotlight hit, Barnaby practically gleamed. The coat he wore had been hand-tailored by Kalos' finest seamstresses. It was a fabulous, sequined work of art with motifs reminiscent of fire and ice. His outfit served to showcase the theme of his appeal: duality.

"Let me introduce you to my girls."

From behind him two NINETALES appeared, both of an usual coloration.

"Sybille: born with a tenacity and drive that far outpaces most of her species. She takes what she wants. And what she wanted at the beginning of our story was the beautiful Bijou."

His gaze flicked to Sybille, before moving to the Pokémon on his right.

"Bijou: dulcet and divine, a goddess of beauty confined to the realm of mundane mortals. She knows her worth, and does not give her favor easily. Not even to the most tenacious."

As Barnaby deftly illustrated their initial meeting and subsequent fallout, his girls moved right on cue. They'd practiced their choreography many times in preparation for this moment.

"Sybille pursued her love interest with the ferocity of ten Ninetales." The silver fox's image vibrated and multiplied tenfold. The litany of NINETALES began circling Bijou onstage. For her part, the pink ice-type appeared unphased. Her snout was held in the air, her gaze diverted elsewhere - showing an interest obviously unrequited.

"Bijou outpaced her at every turn, warding off the advances with swiftness and grace." As Sybille's clones tightened their circle and leapt toward the object of their affection, Bijou used her superior Agility to evade and retreat.

"A tumultuous start for this fated pair." He spoke, his voice hushed. "A flaming desire cooly received."

The crowd grew silent.

"However! Do not let their first meeting fool you. Theirs is a love earned and not simply given."

Hopeful applause were met with a shining smile as Barnaby concluded his tale.

"They say Ninetales can live 1,000 years... let me introduce you to a love that will last countless lifetimes!"

Another stage, another whack at this contest business. He’d been hoping to sign up with August Gallagher but it seemed it hadn’t been meant to be. Nevertheless, he hoped his little friend would be around to at least see Garbage Baby in action. Him Felix Gallagher , hopefully, maybe. He flushed a little at the thought unsure if he’d left a good impression on them. But maybe, he could get the man to come around. [break][break]

Lana wished he was confident as his pokemon, trembling at the sight of luka chêne and Lux Defort , other coordinators that had shown their prowess in another contest. His eyes move to the next performance, swallowing hard when he realized he would be sharing the stage with BARNABY FINCH . Fuck. The competition was stiff as hell. A woman ( Remi Cassel ) with her baby bear and kitten combo?? Adorable incarnate. Alexei Ivanov and the Wooloo? He wanted to pet the black one so badly…but it looked a little temperamental. Not to mention, how do you beat ‘mated for life’, Tempest Quinn ?? Garbage Baby barked as their turn came up. He stepped onto the stage, bracing for performance. [break][break]

Light blinked on dramatically, one after the other, giving what little effect it could on the small stage. Ruslan swallowed, steadying his voice. No stuttering. Please don’t laugh, victor evans . Be brief, be clear. “To my right, poised beauty, unflinching confidence, and the coldest glare this side of Hoenn!” His words are as controlled as the smile on his face. Yukina stared to the side of the stage before casually tilting her head to the crowd and narrowing her eyes as she LEERed them. “To my left, dumpster menace, unstoppable energy, and infectious rowdiness!” Garbage Baby flailed around using TACKLE, his cape fluttering. “Yukina, and Garbage Baby were fated to never meet. She hates his grubby paws. He doesn’t understand boundaries. But they both helped me tremendously!” The Froslass seemed to pout in an exaggerated kind of way and cross her arms, while Garbage Baby ran circles around her. Whether this was performance or distraction was anyone’s guess. “She’s Beauty. And he’s Beast!” [break][break]

the stage was dark and quiet. no ambient music played. the click of the light as the spotlight turns on and centers on kyle echoes throughout the hall.

kyle stands in the middle, tossing a pokeball up and down. "welcome to the world of minun," kyle introduces as he lets minun out of its ball.

the minun stands confident surrounded by nothingness.

"she was a star. for a small bundle of sparks, she was important for the elite four's roster. she supported an entire team, but, alas, had no one to support her."

the electric-type produced sparks, lighting up the area by the smallest bit. a few lightbulbs by the front powered up passively.

"she was stubborn. feisty. nothing can deter her. her shell was too tough for any other pokemon to get close to her."

the minun starts running on all fours in a circle, creating sparks as double team gets illusions of other minun run alongside it.

"that was until someone else entered the scene."

on cue, kyle whistles. from the backstage, the plusle appears, sparks tracing his from in the dark. it quickly joins the minun in its circular path.

they come into contact, speeding their agility and increasing the coil's torque until they're nothing but a blur.

"plusle managed to get through the defenses though. not sure how he managed, but he did. it was love at first sight! whatever it was, one cannot determine, for relationships form can form from the most mundane ways."

electricity produced skyrocketed. light permeates through the dark as both of them subconsciously power up the rest of the stage's lighting. plus and minus take effect as kyle steps back from sparks shooting out wildly .

with a finger gun, he points the muzzle at the rolling coil of destruction. "bang."

the contest hall lights up at this point.

an explosion of double team clones occurs when they disband. plusles and minuns were launched up high, many landing towards the audience. they fade, however, before they can even touch them.

inertia from their centripetal force launch the two pokemon to opposite sides . electricity burns mark the floors as they come bounding back with ferocious agility.

"like two poles of the magnet, they're always together at the end." he walks forward, taking his spot beside the pair, before taking a bow. 'plusle and minun, people of slateport!"

A Machamp holding a tiny Skitty followed an older woman with frizzy hair onto the stage. "Hello everyone," Michiko exclaimed, clasping her hands. She beamed at the audience. "I have prepared something which is very cool! It is... a slideshow!" As she spoke, she proudly threw off the cloth covering the slide projector on stage. Stagehands behind her hurriedly drew the backstage curtains to provide a proper backdrop as the lights darkened and the projector whirred to life.

"Look, it is the first day Matchan and Charmmy are meeting!" Michi exclaimed. A foreign cover of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" began to play in the background as a picture flashed onto the screen, showing a Machamp surrounded by pink hearts clearly under the effects of an Attract attack. "And next, this is a picture of Matchan and Charmmy eating ice cream!" Michi continued, flicking to the next slide. She burst out giggling, talking through the next several slides like she was showing off a family photo album. "And here is Matchan and Charmmy riding the bus together! And here is Charmmy taking a nap inside a hole that Matchan was punching-- it was so naughty, I have to hide behind picture frame. And here is-- oh no!" The next picture was too blurry to make out. Michiko seemed distraught. "Aah, Matchan!! Focus the picture!"

The Machamp reached out with his four arms, using FOCUS ENERGY to re-focus the projector. The new picture finally came into focus, revealing Matchan cheering Charmmy Skitty on in a gym battle vs Zac's Doduo. "Yay! Thank you, Matchan!" She gave the fighting-type's cheek a little squeeze and went on obliviously to the audience. "And these are the wedding photos, and this is the pre-wedding shower..."

Michiko had hoped to end her cool slideshow presentation with one last photo, but she realized something was wrong - in scanning the photos in from her personal scrapbook, this final picture still had a scalloped border along the top and left sides from where she'd cut out with stationary scissors. "Ah! How embarrassing!" the little woman cried out hurriedly, rushing to cover the slide with her hands. "Charmmy, please fix it!"

The Kitten Pokémon pounced forward, using DOUBLE EDGE to make two perfectly straight edges along the picture. Relieved, Michiko lifted her hands up to reveal the final picture of Matchan and Charmmy decorating cookies in her kitchen for Valentines Day.

"They are normal type and fighting type, but Matchan would never hurt Charmmy Skitty!" Michiko declared passionately. "They are like the cherry blossom tree-- the trunk is strong and powerful, but the blossoms are small and weak! It is the combination that appears so beautiful."

Michiko turned off the projector, beaming at the audience as the lights came back on. "This is the Love Story finished! Thank you for your time. Please enjoy the rest of the Contest!"

The performances start off with a tale of desire and perseverance, the audience finding itself enthralled by the story of the two Ninetales as they chase after each other on the stage. ”Wow! That was a beautiful display on part of our first contestant and a tough act to follow!”

It is, yet Luka’s previous contest win earns her cheers from the audience the moment she steps onto the stage, and her pokémon sure live up to the excitement. ”An amazing performance! And you got the right idea there… What is this contest if not a test of love?!”

What comes next is Ruslan’s story of a beauty and a beast, a tale they have perhaps heard before, but told with a twist! The audience seems entertained by it, as if they can’t wait to see what else the pair will do. ”A beauty and a beast! Love comes in all shapes and sizes, and these two clearly have love for each other and their trainer!”

It’s then that the contest hall grows silent, darkness overtaking before a single spotlight shines upon none other than Hoenn’s beloved champion. The audience’s anticipation is palpable, and the story told by Kyle about his Plusle and Minun touches their hearts, earning them a loud wave of applause. ”Now that’s a pair to watch out for! Only to be expected of our champion!”

But, it wouldn’t be a POG Bank sponsored contest without a Meowth or two, and Remi’s makes a great match for her Teddiursa. The audience loves how fierce they are despite their cute appearance, and the way they hug in the end is like the cherry on top! ”If you love someone you have their back, you stand by their side through thick and thin! What a great way to show us the love between two pokemon!”

Fortree’s gym leader is also known by the audience, but instead of Flying types, they find themselves in the presence of two Wooloo. There’s ’Aw!’s at the adorable pair, and ’Oh!’s when seeing the sparkling electric display. ”An adorable story for an adorable pair! Can’t wait to see what else these two will show us!”

Unexpectedly, what follows is a play, told by Lux and acted out by his Meowstic and Braixen. It’s creative for sure, and it’s impossible to deny the positive way in which the audience reacts to this change of pace! ”Someone get this pair a movie contract, right? What a wonderful performance!”

Another gym leader follows soon after, but the audience’s initial cheers are replaced by silence when seeing Temp wheel a tank onto the stage. Still, soon enough, when hearing about the pair and watching their display, they find themselves cheering once again! ”Seems like in this competition there will be no fish out of water! An unlikely pair, but also an adorable one with a love that transcends all boundaries!”

Finally, the introductions close with a slide show presented by one of Hoenn’s Minor gym leaders. It’s also not what the audience had expected to see, but soon enough many are leaning forward to get a better look at the pictures presented by Michiko, clearly loving her sweet stories. ”A pair with a love that has been documented and shared! What a charming couple they are! Bet some of those pictured would make cute Palentine cards…”

Once the performances end, it’s Mars that stands on the stage once again, this time with Gardevoir and Gallade close behind him. They’re at opposite ends of the stage, away from each other.

”I hope you enjoyed meeting our contestants! They all show a lot of potential, but as a great songstress once said… Love is a battlefield!” As Mars talks, the pair of pokémon elegantly changes stances to more martial ones, as if readying themselves for a fight. ”Sometimes, earning the attention of another can be a challenge – you have to be clever about it. Courting takes skill, prowess, and it can happen in unexpected ways…”

The Gallade charges towards the Gardevoir, attempting a LOW SWEEP which she gracefully avoids. The pair engage in an expertly choreographed fight, the Gallade using the swift moves of a swordsman while the Gardevoir avoids him at every strike. She lightly floats over the stage thanks to her TELEKINESIS, and at some point, it becomes more like a dance than a fight, the attraction between the pair being obvious as they hold hands. The Gallade dips his counterpart, a fitting end to their performance.

”Talent! That’s what our contestants are about to show us! The talent to earn love, talents developed together, talents that let us see the affection they have for each other!”

The velvet curtain pulled back, indicating the beginning of the second round, and Barnaby strode toward center stage to wild applause. The audience was ravenous for more - more stunning Pokémon, more of his gorgeous face, and more of his girls' wayward love story.

As the crowd fell silent a spotlight blinked on, illuminating both him and the two foxes at his left and right.

"Despite an initial rejection, Sybille insisted on courting the beautiful Bijou. If anything the refusal only enticed her more."

The NINETALES emitted a low, deep rumble from her chest; she stood, shaking out her periwinkle-tipped tails, and began slowly circling around Bijou.

"Sybille realized that her first, frenzied approach was too undignified for a Pokémon of Bijou's standing. So, she slept and meditated on the best way to win the other Ninetales over."

The Fire-type stopped mid-stride, her brows furrowed in concentration. She reclined onto her haunches and closed her eyes. A faintly blue, psychic energy began materializing around the edges of her form. She fell into a deep, trance-like state.

"She settled on something more refined to woo her love interest: a courtly dance. Her natural athletic talent and fleetness of foot served her well in this endeavor."

Suddenly, the psychic energy shot away from Sybille's body, dissipating into the air. Simultaneously, the NINETALES leapt high off the ground and executed an effortless backflip, landing squarely in front of Bijou. Sybille bowed to the object of her affections before beginning her dance.

"Bijou, bless her, found Sybille's persistence endearing. She humored the other's display, watching the dance with poised scrutiny."

Bijou's polished, indifferent demeanor didn't appear to change, even as Sybille's grace and finesse became abundantly obvious the more she moved around the stage.

"She feigned disinterest, but all too suddenly images of Sybille began eating away at Bijou's dreams..."

Darkness descended upon the stage and the spotlight fell singularly on Bijou. The pink-tinged Pokémon put on the performance of a lifetime, languidly wrapping her tails around her body to act out sleep. A moment passed and her body jerked up, startled awake.

"She'd wake at night to heady thoughts of the silver fox. What could this mean?"

Typical of Barnaby, he left this part of the story at a cliffhanger.

The audience would have to wait until Round 3 if they wanted to hear more.

Seems like the different approach had intrigued the crowd for the better! Both Pokemon restrain their bubbly excitement on the inside, because there are roles to be played, which they’ve practiced day and night to get right for their beloved trainer![break][break]
As the spotlights shine back on Meowstic and Braxien’s placements on stage shift, indicating a passage of time from the last scene the audience had seen. Lux clears his throat then taps the mic, eager to continue the tale of the two psychic Pokemon.[break][break]
“Let us move forward. A few months pass and unbelievably, our two Pokemon are still at odds! They’ve even developed a competitive streak!”[break][break]
The spotlight now flashes onto Meowstic, who takes on a prideful stance, echoing out a hearty meow.[break][break]
“Anything you can do, I can do better!”[break][break]
Braxien smirks at the little kitten, tittering as she spins. “Hmph! I can do anything better than you!”[break][break]
“No you can’t!”[break][break]
“Yes I can!”[break][break]
Once again the fiery embers of rivalry are set to kindle. Soon to erupt into a great, mighty flame. Though, no more words needed are between them. For actions speak far louder![break][break]
A mischievous glint shimmers in Braxien’s eyes as puts one foot in front of the other. Multiple twirls are performed in perfect succession, and as the fox gracefully pirouettes, a pink-like aura begins to cloak around her form. She spins and spins, until the Fennekin attire is tossed out of view, a symbolism of her beautiful evolution. The psychic energy she spent charging then bursts into the air![break][break]
Meowstic, taken back and unprepared by this mighty display, quickly fires a quick shot of confusion toward the fire fox.[break][break]
BANG![break][break]
The two energies collide as they explode loudly, flashily, like vibrant firework blasts clashing as one. The collision rebounds them both, yet despite the sheer force of it all, both Pokemon nail the landing in sync, displaying their unyielding willpower even after such an unsatisfying draw. [break][break]
Though that could be far from the truth as the audience erupts into applause, amazed by the clever usage of psychic moves. [break][break]
Lux smiles in knowing, the soft lull of his deep voice capturing the audience’s attention once more. [break][break]
“Braxien was bigger, stronger. Little Sirius knew this, admired it. However, Kiki the Braxien also knew that little kittens still had their claws to grow into, and she looked forward to that very day.—”

Once again, Lana’s racking his brain for a way to handle the next challenge. All the while, the faux bickering that had been on full display on the stage was in full swing at the back of it. “You two, calm down. Just a little!” the trainer hissed. But still, their cue is called, and Lana can afford a quick encouraging pat on both their heads. [break][break]

The curtain pulled back. Lana once again had taken the center and the role as the narrator. Music led into their next act. “There were always issues between Beauty and Beast. But adjustment takes time, and nothing makes you stronger than having a common goal.” The pair crowd around their trainer, the Linoone barking and trying to lick the ghost, while the other pushed him away before huffing and moving to opposite ends of the stage. As she floated away angrily, he would bark in a sing songy voice TAUNTing the Froslass as she left. [break][break]

“Beauty didn’t make it easy for him, but Beast was nothing if not persistent.” They make a good show of it. Yukina would pout or huff around the stage, easy enough for as big of a diva as her. Garbage Baby would prance after her as the violins played him out, happy to be alive. Its almost a dance the way they moved in, the Linoone nosing at the ghost Whenever the audience would think Yukina softened enough to get back on his level, his large tongue would whip up in one fell lick grossing her out. “In time, they came to understand one another. Not completely, but there was something there that wasn’t there before.” By the third time, she seemed to take it. Garbage Baby isn’t as forceful, nosing her politely before being allowed closer. She begrudgingly accepted, ruffling his fur in revenge for all the times he’d slobbered on her through their performance. Her hands began to glow, spreading to Garbage Baby’s head before the light blue glow enveloped the pair of them. “Maybe she helped him along, a little.” He added as the Froslass, exhausted from DESTINY BOND carefully fell onto the Linoone’s back and was then slowly carried off by his fat form waddling away.
