ZAPDOS could be felt long before it could be seen. It carried an oppressive air about it: heavy and grating, leaving all in proximity on edge.[break][break]

Except, perhaps, its Galarian cousin. As Aurelie Lefevre surveyed the open chamber, MOLTRES stood at its opening as a stalwart observer, blocking both entrance and exit. Though, if things were to get too dicey, it might act as a protector as well. [break][break]

Still, the young ROCKET needed to show her mettle at least a little bit before MOLTRES or Admin Bee would intervene.[break][break]

"Beast Neon and I visited not long after its discovery, yes," He replied, watching as the shadows shifted on the wall. "But I'll leave you to learn things on your own for now." [break][break]

Finally, ZAPDOS rushed forward at a blazing speed. Simultaneously, BARNABY FINCH melded with the darkness at the corners of the room, leaving Aurelie Lefevre to her fight.[break][break]

The mythical bird was a tyrant to contend with. Its speed was one of its greatest strengths — before most could even think to act, ZAPDOS was already within striking range and landing a killing blow. [break][break]

Now wasn't much different. Its huge, clawed feet were mere inches from a devastating attack on the CALYREX shard. Its PSYCHIC powers were just barely able to halt its forward progress — not push back, only momentarily pause. [break][break]

But the ZAPDOS wasn't all brute force. It took note of CALYREX's powers and, in the moment before the PSYCHIC hold wore off, erected a LIGHT SCREEN to protect itself against future attacks of a similar nature.

"Divine?" The Infernal echoed, his tone thick with warm amusement; the thought of mint frost's newfound divinity made him want to tease the man.[break][break]

"You certainly look as if you were molded by the heavens," He ventured, brushing a gentle knuckle against the feathers of one of the wings sprouting from Mint's temple.[break][break]

"But," Barnaby added with a cheeky smirk, "That's been true even since before your Avatarship, hm?"[break][break]

Barnaby wondered how he'd take the compliment. Brush it off, flush red and deflect, or not even care to humor it? Regardless of Mint's reaction, Admin Bee would continue further down into the bowels of New Mauville.[break][break]

Soon enough, an oppressive air weighed heavy around them. Somehow familiar, somehow not.[break][break]

ZAPDOS was close — ready and waiting for reunion.

Bit by bit, the bowels of the ruin became exposed, giving the group of ROCKETs a jagged entry into its depths. Stone and earth and an overgrowth of vegetation still marked their path ahead — but it was a start.[break][break]

"Ooohh, another Tapu? Do you plan on coaxing it to our side, then?" Admin Bee probed fern delaney, his interest in their mission sparked anew. [break][break]

In truth, BARNABY FINCH knew little of the TAPUS or their mythos, but was aware that it was best not to underestimate them. Elisabeth Fiorelli had illustrated that well enough with her tellings of TAPU FINI.[break][break]

"I'll kept an eye out," He assured jayden cross, adding, "But I'm more worried about these Celesteela. They're rooted right through the ceiling of this ruin. Who knows how deep down they go?"[break][break]

Speaking of, a particularly bulbous series of roots was blocking their path ahead. Following Jayden, Barnaby released his SHAYMIN alongside his HEATRAN and ordered it to bombard the obstacle with its SEED FLARE.

Elisabeth Fiorelli had kept her distance since BARNABY FINCH had severed their personal ties all those months ago. The cogs in the machine had kept moving, the world kept spinning, and they'd continued on in their respective roles. [break][break]

Had her brush with mortality — or immortality? — made her sentimental?[break][break]

"I did." The admin replied upon entering the room and seeing her sprawled on his desk, his tone even and unsurprised; he wouldn't give her the satisfaction of a negative reaction.[break][break]

"Your... departure was a grave loss to the organization. I'm glad to see it was only a momentary absence."[break][break]

He picked his words carefully, cobalt eyes trained on verdant green.[break][break]

"How may I help you, Underboss Fiorelli?" [break][break]

Hands held loosely behind his back, BARNABY FINCH carried himself with the formality that she so brazenly lacked at the moment.

War never changes. Built on blood and money, ROCKET found itself in competition with the LEAGUE for valuable resources in alien lands. The ULTRA CRATER was one of the more abundant areas, too, with its vibrant and teeming jungles.[break][break]

"What should we keep an eye out for?"[break][break]

BARNABY FINCH asked of his fellow admins as he stepped through the rift, curious to see how they'd respond. He himself had never been here before and was unfamiliar with its offerings — but perhaps one of the other two had more experience.[break][break]

First, however, they had an obstacle to contend with. Alongside jayden cross's LUNATONE, Barnaby released his HEATRAN and instructed it to split the vines and rock with a powerful EARTHQUAKE.

Bursts of powerful energy threaten to scatter the pixelated bodies of BARNABY FINCH and Shred across the RKS simulation's cyberscape. For a brief moment a flash of pain accompanies the blindness, but it quickly fades along with the memory of an ancient Galar.[break][break]

In its wake materializes an even more ancient ruin — but not one left to wallow in solitude. Instead, an enraged REGIROCK fills the chamber with the sounds of crunching bones, hurtled rock, and the screams of terrified onlookers.[break][break]

Though he does not engage with the giant, Admin Bee releases his STARMIE to PROTECT against projectiles coming his way.[break][break]

"These Regis have been popping up more and more lately."
