Though Elise Calcifet managed to dodge out of the way of his shadowed projectiles, BARNABY FINCH did not let up. Where MOLTRES' flames burned against PSYCHIC energy, he again summoned his the darkness to his advantage — all around, stygian flames erupted, blocking retreat and sapping energy from Elise and her hare alike.[break][break]

barnaby can unleash a powerful burst of shadow-infused flames ONCE PER THREAD, creating a persisting area of effect that damages enemies and hinders movement by inflicting deep fatigue.

It was a shame nicholas steele wasn't very amenable to their organization. Up close, he wasn't too bad to look at — in fact, the pained expression on his sallow face was rather pretty.[break][break]

"There's really nothing I can say to sway your heart, Mr. Ranger?" With a constricting squeeze, the shadowed hand drew the man nearer so that he could fully appreciate BARNABY FINCH's sultry-sweet voice.[break][break]

Now they'd be able to meet the other's eye — Barnaby's being a cold cobalt blue behind the mask.[break][break]

Meanwhile, MOLTRES' FUTURE SIGHT finally struck, halting the BRAVIARY's SUPERPOWERED attack and giving enough uninterrupted time for nicholas steele to answer the admin's question.

The darkness was not all-consuming for BARNABY FINCH. [break][break]

Like his patron, he thrived in the shadows, and had the pleasure of witnessing Eva Morales fall to her knees in fear with full clarity. [break][break]

Of course, she did not succumb right away. That would be too easy. To her rescue came a gallant knight, who erected a barrier of pure light to combat the gloom. And it did — for a short time. [break][break]

The darkness abated for a brief moment, letting in slivers of twilight through the cracks. Noticing this, Admin Bee clenched his fist, willing the shadows to fall once more. In the same movement, MOLTRES heaved a massive, clawed foot forward and approached where Eva Morales lay in the dirt. [break][break]

It lifted its mighty wings and summoned the power of its STELLAR TERA TYPE. Multicolored crystals grew and sprouted from its body, coating it almost entirely. The barrier's light refracted off these crystals, causing quite the dazzling display. [break][break]

A short-lived one, however, as MOLTRES immediately pumped its wings to form a fierce HURRICANE. Harmful winds whipped all around, limbs ripped from trees, rocks and stones were pried from the earth. All aimed at Eva and her GALLADE.

After all, his own patron had been conjured from the VIOLET BOOK by the power of the TERA CRYSTALS. Who knew what else they could do?[break][break]

"Is he now?" Finally. The man had been a thorn in ROCKET's side for long enough. "And what of Articuno?"

Shadowed flames danced and skittered across the CALYREX's barrier, which only thinly protected him from MOLTRES' attack. It likely wouldn't hold when faced with another.[break][break]

Similarly, Elise Calcifet left herself vulnerable as well. To proclaim herself a martyr for the LEAGUE's ideals... it was a laughable thing. She would simply be one of many. A single number amongst the masses.[break][break]

"Suit yourself." The admin replied with a dismissive shrug of his shoulders.[break][break]

BARNABY FINCH was done with this exchange of banter. Urging his patron onward, the MOLTRES swooped low to the ground as it advanced toward CALYREX. He then leapt from his seat, tucking his body in to land with minimal impact.[break][break]

MOLTRES, meanwhile, kept its attention on CALYREX. In a multicolored display of power, crystals began to sprout and encapsulate the dark bird as it evoked its STELLAR TERA TYPE. It took the hit from the ENERGY BALL, pausing slightly, though not entirely affected as the move was weak to its typing. It retaliated with a boosted BURNING JEALOUSLY, hoping to engulf the CALYREX in flames.[break][break]

Righting himself, the admin wasted no time in rushing toward Elise Calcifet, conjured shadows undulating around him. Though they started amorphous, the darkness soon sharpened into deadly projectiles which were launched through the air in her direction.[break][break]

barnaby can create, shape, and manipulate darkness. he can create areas of total darkness, create short-lived constructs out of darkness, and has increased mobility within this created dark.[break][break]

barnaby can cause the darkness he wields or summons to "burn" flamelessly. targets in contact with the dark can be damaged over time.

ROCKET had instilled that in BARNABY FINCH since birth. He'd been born in a cage, manacled by their rigid hierarchy and ideals, and acted out their whims for years — why?[break][break]

Because he had to. Because he hadn't been given a choice, either. It was either that or death.[break][break]

The cycle continued.[break][break]

"You're right, there is no escape. We'll win this war." The LEAGUE would eventually bend and break under ROCKET's thumb. It was inevitable.[break][break]

Still, there were those like nicholas steele who insisted on drawing out this inevitable outcome. Truthfully, BARNABY FINCH was almost impressed by the man's foolhardy efforts.[break][break]

"Hoenn deserves more than what the League can give."[break][break]

As the BRAVIARY sped toward them, ringed in a golden aura, MOLTRES didn't even bother moving a feather out of place. Instead, it erected a PROTECTIVE barrier around itself, nullifying damage from their opponent.[break][break]
