Elise still feels the tensions in the air in spite of the Petalburg-Sootopolis war being over. [break][break]

“You feel it too, didn’t you?” The ambassador’s soft-spoken voice addresses the shard of Calyrex that helps her take up a duty of not letting any of Rocket’s forces head towards Rustboro City. The domain that she was entrusted in ensuring the cityfolk’s safety along with the gym leader and the city mayor.[break][break]

Charles replies to her with a “Cro-rown.” as he sniffs the air around them in Route 104 while the royal ambassador scouts the area along with the hare king. Unlike the combat simulations she had with Project SAPPHIRE, it’ll be the shard’s first real fight with a Rocket.[break][break]

She’s very grateful that he’ll protect her since the League’s Calyrex put his trust and faith in her as someone he’s keeping an eye on.

Tensions were higher than ever in Hoenn. There was a heaviness in the air and in the hearts of its people. Conflict bred discontentment.[break][break]

It was why this war needed to end soon — with ROCKET on top.[break][break]

"A battleground is no place for royalty," A masked BARNABY FINCH called out from the skies, carried by a great, dark specter of a bird. MOLTRES loomed above Elise Calcifet and her shard of CALYREX, its attention focused on the hare king. Pale ruby flames danced at its wings, casting a menacing glow on all those that were gathered here.[break][break]

"I'd hate to see you get hurt, ambassador." His haunting lilt almost sounded sincere. [break][break]

"Vacate the area. Oh, but do leave Calyrex behind. I'd like for Rocket to have the pair."

Fear sets in for the Galarian Ambassador when a masked Rocket showed up on a spectral bird with blood red flames. He calls out to her in thinking that the battlefield is no place for royalty and that she can leave her shard behind. Rocket apparently wanted the other one of the same pair of Calyrexes. [break][break]

To her, the shard helped her with proving that Galar is allied with the League. She fights for the League’s government in a way that she helps them with being a medic for hospitals in the cities and towns, sans Petalburg now. All civilians from Petalburg were displaced…because of Rocket’s victory.[break][break]

“Even my cousin fights on the battlefield.” The ambassador speaks to the masked Rocket above on his bird. “It would only be fair that I would be too in order to protect the city that lies beyond this route.”[break][break]

Charles too looks up to the bird and gives a low menacing growl towards the spectral avian.[break][break]

“Why does Rocket want the League’s Calyrex?” She’d want an answer to that while Charles floats in between the bird, its rider, and his handler. He stands ready to keep her safe just as she would do for him. “And if I refuse to do as you ask and give him to you?”

The mention of Remiel Calcifet brought the feeling of bile to his throat. BARNABY FINCH rolled his eyes at the thought of the previous Admin Fox, though Elise wouldn't be able to tell behind his mask. [break][break]

"Why not? We'd love a complete set, after all." And one less CALYREX on the LEAGUE side was one less asset for them to utilize against ROCKET.[break][break]

"If not, I suppose I can settle..." Unseen, Barnaby's hand pressed into the plumes beneath his palm, signaling the beginning of their conflict.[break][break]

"...with it being dead."[break][break]

Immediately, an intense aura rapidly spread out from the dark bird's unfurled wings — sending a FIERY WRATH toward the levitating CALYREX.

The ambassador can’t fathom the dangers that Rocket would pose if they get a complete set. That would mean that the League’s Calyrex would lose faith in her if she ended up giving it to the disguised Rocket. His shard, a copy of himself, was hers to take care of. A bestowed gift that the King gave her because he saw that potential in her.[break][break]

Fiery Wrath creeps its way from the sky after the Rocket declared that her shard will die if this man can’t settle with getting it from her hands. Before Fiery Wrath could try to end the shard, Charles Protects himself with a round barrier.[break][break]

When the flames from the giant black bird disappear into reaching the barrier, that’ll signal the start of the conflict too for the League’s side.[break][break]

“It’s unfortunate for you that you resort to measures in preventing the League from gaining more power. Rocket can have the complete the set of both the League’s and Rocket’s Calyrexes…” The Galarian ambassador said with a hint of venom. There will be no mercy now, she knows this because her elder cousin is targeted by them with Rocket calling for his head. [break][break]

“If you can pry him from my dead body. I'd sooner be a martyr for my country and my people than to allow the League's Calyrex to die by your wicked hands.”[break][break]

Charles doesn’t wait for a command from his handler as the hare king releases an Energy Ball from his small paws. The glowing green ball of nature’s energy shoots out in trying to hit the bigger bird first and in doing so, he wants no part in joining Rocket on helping the other side with its heinous acts.

Shadowed flames danced and skittered across the CALYREX's barrier, which only thinly protected him from MOLTRES' attack. It likely wouldn't hold when faced with another.[break][break]

Similarly, Elise Calcifet left herself vulnerable as well. To proclaim herself a martyr for the LEAGUE's ideals... it was a laughable thing. She would simply be one of many. A single number amongst the masses.[break][break]

"Suit yourself." The admin replied with a dismissive shrug of his shoulders.[break][break]

BARNABY FINCH was done with this exchange of banter. Urging his patron onward, the MOLTRES swooped low to the ground as it advanced toward CALYREX. He then leapt from his seat, tucking his body in to land with minimal impact.[break][break]

MOLTRES, meanwhile, kept its attention on CALYREX. In a multicolored display of power, crystals began to sprout and encapsulate the dark bird as it evoked its STELLAR TERA TYPE. It took the hit from the ENERGY BALL, pausing slightly, though not entirely affected as the move was weak to its typing. It retaliated with a boosted BURNING JEALOUSLY, hoping to engulf the CALYREX in flames.[break][break]

Righting himself, the admin wasted no time in rushing toward Elise Calcifet, conjured shadows undulating around him. Though they started amorphous, the darkness soon sharpened into deadly projectiles which were launched through the air in her direction.[break][break]

A dismissive shrug came from the disguised male Rocket. To Rocket, the ideals of the League were laughable and those in their number would consider her own martyrdom to be a pitiful move. Evil existed in this world and while League did have its own corrupt members, she fully trusted the League and its government enough to still maintain her country being allied with them.[break][break]

Fear spikes through her when she sees the gigantic bird that the Rocket rides on Terastalize. A multicolored light covers the avian Pokemon as a boosted Burning Jealousy is shot towards her Calyrex shard. Its attention was on Charles now though the ambassador does have a rather pressing matter to deal with.[break][break]

And that matter was this Rocket shooting dark deadly projectiles at her. Killing intent is clear as they aim toward her.[break][break]

“Charles!” She calls out to her shard in fear and worry. The Calyrex’s body sprouts crystals too as it covers the hare king in a bright flashing pink. A Psychic Tera Crown sits on top of the bulbous crown that the king wears. [break][break]

In a very risky move, the Galarian princess moves to dodge the shadowy projectiles being thrown at her and holds onto the small hare. She attempts to protect him from the Burning Jealousy boosted by the Galarian Moltres’ Stellar Tera Type though the shard of Calyrex answers her compassion with a boosted Psychic to try and deflect the flames from reaching her.[break][break]

Though Psychic slices through the fires of the bird, stray flames from the other legendary Pokemon’s Burning Jealousy make their way into giving her burning pain. Elise hisses from the fire licking her skin and it’ll char her clothing too. [break][break]

“It’s alright, I can take it.” The ambassador reassures the Calyrex when he makes a worried cry. “I’m very glad that you’re safe because I care about you and I don’t want you to get hurt…”[break][break]

Her eyes close. If Remiel Calcifet was here fighting with her, the ‘exiled’ crown prince would tell her that she’s foolish to risk her own life in protecting the High King. Remiel had every right to worry about her. He’s family. [break][break]

She feels the soothing feeling coming from her shard and when Elise opens her eyes to look down at the Terastalized hare king, he uses every bit of his power to heal her with pulsating healing energy from Heal Pulse.

"How quaint. I'm practically weeping over here." The admin commented as CALYREX came to her rescue, his voice thick with sarcasm.[break][break]

Though Elise Calcifet managed to dodge out of the way of his shadowed projectiles, BARNABY FINCH did not let up. Where MOLTRES' flames burned against PSYCHIC energy, he again summoned his the darkness to his advantage — all around, stygian flames erupted, blocking retreat and sapping energy from Elise and her hare alike.[break][break]

barnaby can unleash a powerful burst of shadow-infused flames ONCE PER THREAD, creating a persisting area of effect that damages enemies and hinders movement by inflicting deep fatigue.

To add insult to injury, MOLTRES released a powerful, super-effective TERA BLAST toward CALYREX as well.

When she was saved by her shard, the ambassador sees that the masked Rocket doesn’t stop with trying to kill her on that note. No, he doesn’t let her and her Calyrex retreat too with the power of his stygian shadow fires sapping her energy as well as the hare king’s. In confronting this Rocket that had powers beyond her comprehension, Elise Calcifet wishes that her cousin, Remiel Calcifet , would give her guidance in this darker time.[break][break]

With her energy being sapped, all the Galarian princess can do is watch helplessly as the Dark type Tera Blast from the dark flaming bird hits the shard of the High King. She’ll catch him as she turns to face the masked Rocket when he’s flung from the air in spite of needing to recover from her prior burns.[break][break]

“You’ve hurt what I consider to be my child… A son of mine.” Elise’s maternal instincts flare up in the face of being at the mercy of the Rocket and his bird Pokemon. “I will never forgive you for that.”[break][break]

But with her energy slowly being siphoned, the Galarian ambassador holds her shard weakly. She’ll feel the Calyrex stir slowly from his unconsciousness as if the thought of having to see her worries made the hare determined to try and win a seemingly hopeless fight. The Calyrex shard levitates out of her arms to get himself back in the battle against the Rocket’s Pokemon.[break][break]

“You do not intend to let us escape freely, so we will fight to the end. Charles himself has taught me that I'm not alone in this fight...even if you have an advantage with your powers over shadow.” She’d imagine that her cousin would tell her to escape when it was futile to. “Tri-Attack now.” An urgent command is given to the shard of Calyrex as he’ll follow it to the letter.[break][break]

A tri-colored beam shoots out from the hare’s paws, aiming directly at the Galarian Moltres. In the same vein as his handler, the shard of the League’s Calyrex does not want to go down without a fight.

The TRI-ATTACK was easily repelled by MOLTRES' PROTECTIVE barrier, sending the set of triple beams careening into a few nearby trees. The bird, in turn, then opened its mouth and released from its gullet a dark, POISON GAS — which filled the air around both CALYREX and Elise Calcifet.[break][break]

"Oh, princess..." BARNABY FINCH remarked, his words callous and cruel.[break][break]

"Your bravery means nothing to me. You'll die in the dirt just like everyone else."

Poison Gas surrounds the ambassador and her hare while the Rocket could have given her a quicker death with his shadows. It dawns on the royal that the Rocket intended to have her die a slow, agonizing death instead. Charles’ Tri Attack was repelled by a Protective barrier around the giant bird as its sneer comes towards the weakened Galarian royal and her hare king.[break][break]

Blood spatters to the grassy ground when she coughs from the poison entering her lungs. The shard of Calyrex envelops both himself and the royal ambassador with Aromatherapy in expelling the poison out of their system. Aromatherapy’s fragrance makes her lungs breathe better without the poison overtaking her and her shard.[break][break]

“You think you are so certain that I will die in the dirt like everyone else.” Her hand wipes off the blood from her mouth as the ambassador stands up in defiant perseverance. “But I won’t feel like I need powers like yours to try and defeat you and your bird. My friends are my own power and right now, Charles is telling me to believe in him because he is my friend!”[break][break]

For her friends’ sakes, people like Yuina Higashi , Genevieve Cromwell , Shalin Nariya , DESIREE BLOOMS , Josh Devlin , Remiel Calcifet , and ollie morales that were fighting too. For the fallen like DEREK HOFFMAN and Laurence Anderson to pass on peacefully. For the future of her country, her people and Cadeyrn Osmond ’s own…[break][break]

The Galarian royal princess can’t afford to fall here. She has to persevere up until she can’t fight anymore.[break][break]

“For that reason, I cannot fall here. My country and my people need me the most and I take up arms in the name of Galar and its people. It and Hoenn’s ideal future is what I fight and bleed for!”

It’s what spurs the Calyrex shard into action. He goes in the heat of the battle and faces the giant bird with magenta flames on its wings once more. [break][break]

Another Tri Attack is thrown at the large bird Pokemon next to the Rocket. This time, the beam of three colored elements is released in full power. A powerful shot that the Calyrex shard sends to try and fight against the Galarian Moltres too.[break][break]

No matter if the shard was weaker than the bird is at his current form.

He could have crushed CALYREX's engorged bud of a head and left it dying in the dirt with its friend.[break][break]

But, as fate would have it, Elise Calcifet would find herself spared today. Perhaps her show of bravado had plucked at some unseen deity's heartstrings.[break][break]

In his ear, communication from ROCKET HQ relayed an urgent message — one calling on him and several other leaders within the organization.[break][break]

Sensing this shift in plan, MOLTRES met CALYREX's TRI ATTACK head-on with a FIERY WRATH of its own. The two beams of energy coalesced in a destructive display, their contact sparking a shimmering explosion that sent a shockwave through the area. The power of it would likely send Elise tumbling back off her feet.[break][break]

In the meantime, BARNABY FINCH would take the opportunity to climb atop MOLTRES and make a strategic retreat. The last thing the princess would see was a dark bird cresting the treetops and making for Petalburg City.
