Elise is the eldest daughter of Prince Richard Calcifet of House Calcifet, younger brother of Queen Edela Calcifet and Reiko Calcifet (née Kurokawa), a former Kimono Girl at the famous Ecruteak Dance Theater and her maternal family line includes a long lineage of Ecruteak priestesses. She has the more refined and decorous personality out of her younger sister being the spoiled and pampered girl of their family. The princess' kindness reaches out to the unfortunate that she tries to help. Her elder cousin, Remiel Calcifet, is the heir to the Galarian throne and noted to be focusing on archaeological research. He has since stepped down as Galarian ambassador as a result.

Those two abilities are inherited through the female bloodline of the Kurokawa clan in which they used their ability to work as spirit mediums.
