She yowls at the pain, snarling, fanged bared. While she doesn't back down she doesn't step forward.

"Your pokemon is strong. You're the Champion, right?"

He had a reason to not know kyle lopez. He had only been in the region for like 2 days.

"Ah."

The Earth Power slammed into the Xatu.

A puff of dust obscrued the field for a moment.

When it cleared, the Xatu stood there.

Still.

Motionless.

Yet, it did not move.

"He's fainted."

Standing up.

Calem called his pokemon back to it's ball.

Arcanine got her fast Rock Smashed.

She sunk her teeth in deeper for a Crunch.

It was looking more and more like a random dog fight and not, like, a pokemon battle.

"They might." It was amusing to watch.

Then the Arcanine suddenly moved into a Flame Wheel while still clamped down on the Mightyena.

Ice crinkled up the Xatu's feathers, yet still, even as it was flooded with snow, it did not move.

Two super effective moves in a row? While already weakened? What the fuck?

"Air Slash."

This time it did move, a sudden jerk that unleashed razor sharp blades.

"If you want."

He pats his Arcanine before sending her to the field.

She growls and lunges forward with a Fire Fang.

The electricity struck the Xatu, rippling in arcs.

Where a normal pokemon would cry out in pain, move, do something, the Xatu simply stood there.

Stared.

Something was a little... off about it.

"Psychic."

An oppressive force suddenly bared down.

"My pokemon might not win. I forgot to heal him after my last battle."

The one where he had scared the shit out of Cillian Quinn.

"Tailwind."

His Xatu was very still, but the wind still picked up and blew a refreshing breeze.

Calem was still in his police officer uniform.

"I don't want to pet your dog."

He tossed out an Arcanine.

'I can pet my own dog."

Calem was still in his police officer's uniform when John Sullivan approached him.

Sadly, both of his only two pokemon countered bugs, so I will say they're both still fucked up from his last battles.

"Oh, of course."

Since he was being an NPC right now, Calem tossed out his Xatu.

The Xatu is returned in a quick flick of the wrist.

When Calem approaches, baton twirling in hand, he steps over the Ninetails.

If his boot stomps down on white fur as he passes, it was surely a trick of the light.

A gloved hand offered.

"Thanks for the battle."

Cillian Quinn would be able to smell it. What was left of the person the uniform belonged to.

Cloying. Almost sweet.

The freezes over again.

There is a distant hum of energy, like a battery filling, before a loud clap of psychic energy errupts from around them.

Sand scatters, whips, wild as Calem's hair in the breeze.

A Tailwind charged Stored Power.

The psychic bomb that just went off leaves the ears ringing.

And Calem only smiles.

Scenting blood.

"Mine's a very sweet girl. Just easy to make upset."
