Is it just her imagination or does he space out for a moment there? Her head cants at the way he blankly stares at her, worry briefly flickering through her mind but soon fading away once his attention seems to return.

The advice he gives stirs in her chest. Heaven knows that she would have if she could, but she doesn't feel the need to mention it here. At least, not while there's still a comfortable atmosphere. Instead, she's happy with listening to the way he drabbles on about Lex. The way that his eyes shine and the words simply pour right out tells her much about the light that she is in his world. And for that, she's thankful - That Killian has someone he treasures and that he'll never let go without putting up a fight.

Another person? And a man to boot. Her eyes are fixated on his presence, wide with surprise as silence fills the air. For a moment, she forgets to breathe and oh, is it quick to bite her back. Without warning, she jerks up, gasping and spluttering as she struggles to regain her breath. As soon as her lungs have filled with precious oxygen, her brain allows her to process what she's just done in front of a stranger.

Her cheeks are flushed, her gaze averted as she nervously takes her seat once more. For all the trashtalking she's done about rangers in general, it's only when she's entrusted with odd errands that she realises how helpful they've been towards the citizens of Sootopolis. Taking out pokemon infestations? Searching for lost pokemon or even stopping pokemon theft? Things like those were typically handled by the rangers faster than the police could ever hope to get to it.

Helping to gather herbs out in the wild? Seemed simply enough when she'd offered to help her elderly neighbour but the further she travels into the forested area, the deeper the dread sinks in. Numerous claw marks litter the trees, signifying the presence of Ursarings in the area. While it isn't mating season for these hungry bears, she knows that underestimating such predators could spell the end for her.

Alas, perhaps she's forgotten that the curiosity of the young can be just as dangerous.

A Teddiursa tugs at her sleeve, a paw resting against its mouth as it cants its head at her presence. Lis freezes, her attention flicking to the young cub then to her surroundings. No movement as of far, so she might just be fine? It takes a little bit of effort but she eventually brushes the Teddiursa's paw off of her, hopping away and creating some distance between her and potential danger.

"Okay uhm... please just... stay away, and we'll all be okay, got it?"

Every step backwards is mirrored by the cub as a brave step forward, the thought of knowing more about this stranger driving it to chase right after. As if things couldn't get any worse, the bushes behind her begin to rustle, a shadow looming over her as a low grow rumbles through the air.
