The texts are reminiscent of a traditional booty call. In a way, it is. She’s lonely, as usual, and therefore bored. It’s either get someone over here to entertain her or go out and make trouble. She chooses the former. Of course, she enjoys his company, perhaps the most out of anyone’s. He’s always been more than just entertainment.

As the night settles in, so does Toni with her glass of wine. Comforted by the fact there’s no specters, she falls into the plush comfort of her large couch, withdrawing her phone to scroll through some of the latest PokeGram posts.

Caden’s knock on the door prompts her to set her phone down, “It’s open!” she smiles, craning her head back to peek over towards the front door.

The elevator door chimed, drawing the woman’s attention away from the nearby window and towards the end of the short hallway. Naturally, Toni chose a penthouse flat. Only two units were on this floor, each compromising half of the building.

In all honesty, she wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but she wasn’t expecting Xander Belmont . His long red hair looked unkempt and messy. He looked about her age, perhaps worn a bit more from stress and a busy schedule. It certainly didn’t make him less qualified. She certainly approved of the Houndoom.

Toni swallowed her penchant for judgment and turned to face Xander with a small smile, “Yes, unfortunately that is me,” there’s bitterness in her voice that comes out cold. She’s obviously not happy about the situation, “They’ve kept me up the last two nights, I’ve barely slept,” and someone like her needs her beauty sleep. The subtle dark bags beneath her eyes were already too much for her.

She leads him to the living room which if very modern, spotless, with windows that extend the length of the exterior wall to look over the sprawling city of Mauville and the Western horizon.

Honestly, how could things get any worse?

Toni had finally settled on an area in Hoenn to consider buying a flat in. Mauville Hills didn’t seem to be going up in flames like the rest of the region. The bustle of the city and the modern surroundings suited her lifestyle. It was much cleaner than Slateport and didn’t seem to have as much riff raff wandering about.

Of course, Slateport wasn’t haunted.

She had been up all night at the mercy of whatever it was that refused to leave her in peace. Agitated, tired, and already fed up with Mauville Hills, she has already decided to move on once this pest was taken care of. Sure, she could just up and leave but that wouldn’t satisfy her craving for revenge.

So, she called an exterminator. Someone who claimed to be capable enough to find this malicious beast and relocate it.

It may be the early evening, but she stands near the doorway with a fresh coffee in hand, waiting for her savior.

Another hunt starts just outside the small Hoenn town. Howls pierce the night air as the Houndoom catch the scent of their prey. Despite their haste, the pack’s footsteps are nearly silent as they bound through the wild outskirts of Route 117.

Hot on their heels is The Huntress, moving just as swiftly over the terrain and her hounds. Despite her grace, she can’t keep up, falling behind as they do as they are trained: pursue their prey.

Bug/Dark Spawn

As the sun begins to fade, so dose Toni’s interest in remaining on the beach any longer. A chill starts to mix with the warmth of the sun’s rays. Eventually, she sits up, dark eyes peering over the rim of her sunglasses at the water’s edge. There, she finds a set of eyes staring back at her.

The woman frowns, glaring back as a feeling of unease washes over her. After a moment of silence and mutual distrust, both Toni and the Golduck move. The Houndoom at her side, doesn’t let the Golduck move far. Despite a clear disadvantage, the canine lunges anyway, tackling the water-type in a blur of teeth and claws.

A sharp whistle calls the Houndoom back to her side. Panting, she returns, limping on her right forelimb. The Golduck seems worse for ware. Toni silently debates with herself, but ultimately ends up tossing an empty pokeball towards the water-type. It would at least be something to add to her fodder for trade.

What the actual fuck just happened? Before she can fully comprehend the situation. The strange pokemon is gone, flying off into the smoky sky. Toni is left in shock, with her Houndoom fidgeting nervously around the remaining Deerling.

The shouts of men can be heard in the distance. The sizzle of fire being doused by water-types is too close for comfort. It snaps Toni back to reality, but still leaves her a bit shaken. Clearing her mind and refocusing on her task, she extracts a few empty pokeball to consume the frightened Deerling. Over all her mission is a success.

“c’mon, let’s get out of here,” Replacing her helmet, she turns to take off towards her motorcycle, Houndoom at her ankles. She’d probably have nightmares of this encounter for weeks.

Eventually those nightmares will transform into desire. A pokemon like that would be worth millions. Time to give daddy a call.

FERNANDO SILPH

The unexpected lecture has her leaning back slightly to frown, dark eyes running over his sharp facial features, accentuated by the shadows of the dark club. He seems serious, “Test you?” That’s not quite the word she’d use for it, but apparently there was a little stick up his ass that kept him from having fun tonight. That’s all she’s trying to do: have a little fun.

Apparently, the teasing isn’t doing it for him. Pity. The arm around his neck slips off his shoulders, falling to rest near his elbow, “I’m not testing you, Callan,” her sharp brows pull into a furrow, “If you’d rather not enjoy yourself and return to your drink then please, take your leave,” he’s not the only man in Hoenn, hell, not even in this bar. He’s just the one she hoped to take home tonight. Toni wouldn’t put forward the effort if their past encounters didn’t rest fondly in her memories. Settling for a second choice wouldn’t be too bad. Just frustrating.

The laughter returns with a smile as he grins. To please him? Perhaps, “Well, maybe I’m turning over a new leaf,” the game continues. Cat and mouse. She may have indulged him in the past but tonight he finds himself victim to a woman that wants to play with her prey a little before she takes a bite. Luckily, he’s willing to indulge her as well.

Toni abandons her gin for another delicacy. She stands as well, letting him lead her onto the dance floor by the hand. They find a space to themselves amongst the other patrons. Her fingers easily slid between him, locking in place with a gently squeeze. The other arm reaches up to slide behind his neck. She follows his direction, his pull drawing her hips into his to minimize the space between them. They move together, swaying to the beat.

“My bar is always well stocked,” she assures him with a soft smile. The arm across his shoulders adjusts to let her manicured fingers lightly tickle the back of his neck, “You sound thirsty, Callan,” Her head tilts up, and the teasing smile fades so her lips can brush gently against his. Her gin soaked breath, laced with mint bathes his senses, “Are you thirsty?”

It seems Toni’s boredom won’t last long. Callan doesn’t leave, and neither does she. They find some common ground over their shared brooding and similar habits to numb the sting or loneliness.

“Ahh that’s right, you’re a ranger,” she feigns forgetfulness with an innocent smile as the space between them shrinks yet again. Toni takes the bait, leaning into the warmth of his shoulder. She’s pulled even closer by the hand that slips around her waist. She completes the connection by moving a hand to rest on his thigh. It’s a gentle touch, but firm enough to feel her thumb caress the fabric.

A particular warmth spreads across her limbs, raising goosebumps in its wake, as he leans into her ear. Hot breath bathes her cheek, and the pressure of her hand on his thigh subtly increases involuntarily. Toni’s lips peel into a smile, a light, airy laughter lost beneath the jazz, “Be careful,” she teases back, “I hear they’re ruthless.”

Callan’s request doesn’t elicit immediate action, but the smile remains. Her gaze flashes down to his lap momentarily, “Hmm, my ass is barely contained in this dress as it is and I don’t think this club’s guests deserve such as treat,” a brief sip of her gin interrupts her thoughts before she angles her head to bring her own lips up to his ear, “Dance with me,” she whispers, her hand moves up, fingers curling over the inside of his thigh, Please.

The smile returns when he chuckles and admits is strategy. He’s likely kidding, but it’s still an amusing thought, “Hm, good plan,” she glances down briefly at her dress. She’d be quite sad if this one was ruined.

After another sip of her drink, she gently plays with the thin straw to stir around the ice. The soft chime of it moving against the glass is lost to the music.

This is new, Toni alone in the night . . .

She points a finger at him to interrupt, “For now,” she quickly corrects with a little smirk. She certainly doesn’t wish for it to remain that way, that’s why she’s here, looking fine as hell.

A light laugh accompanies a smile as he turns her own words against her, “Do I look gloomy?” She hopes not, “No, just . . . bored,” and lonely. Her head tilts slightly, holding his gaze, “What brings you here tonight?”
