Elerlay had barely had enough time to glance at the pictures before they were being shoved in to his hands. He fumbled with them as the girl attempted to lure in the pokemon with treats.

He took a moment to gather the pictures - Anima hovering over his shoulder as he flipped through them. That's right, she had mentioned a few pokemon before hadn't she? He didn't have long, though, as the sound of Anima buzzing past his ear drew his attention to another pokemon - a little poochyena huddled just past the Froufrou. "I think we have another over here."

He shuffled past Lumia and towards Anima as she circled the poochyena. He didn't have any treats to lure it with but if he could just get past it and heard it back towards the girl, she might be able to get both pokemon.

The Poochyena eyed him suspiciously before it's attention snapped back to the Vibrava. It gave a growl and snapped at Anima - who drifted just outside of it's reach. It was just enough distraction for Elerlay to get behind the pokemon. He edged closer as the Pokemon's attention shot between him and the Vibrava. "It's ok little guy." He tried to sound reassuring but it was clear he wasn't comforting the pokemon in the least.

It was fair - the Dragapult's assessment that was. Elerlay could have felt the scorn from a mile away. He smiled warily at the girl. How did he blow his cover so badly and she seemed none the wiser. Or.. maybe, his cover up wasn't that bad? It's not like he had been overtly sneaking around. He literally ran right up to her. But then again.. he literally ran right up to her.

He had to let it go. "Lost dogs? Hmm." he scratched his head - trying too hard to seem like he hadn't heard anything about any Lost dogs. "I mean," He motioned further towards the alleyway "I can hear some dogs..but I don't know of any lost ones myself" Somewhere in the back of his mind he could hear how unconvincing he was and it was slowly registering how suspicious that might be. "Do you want some help?" he shifted his hand towards his pokeballs. Surely, he was far less suspicious now, right?

He pressed the release on Anima's pokeball and the Vibrava sprung out. She immediately took to flitting curiously around Elerlay and the girl. Eyeing them both until the Dragapult caught her attention.

One misstep later and Elerlay found the rocks under foot shifting. He wobbled, trying to shuffle towards safety, but lost his footing and fell onto a nearby (much less shaky) rock. He instinctively cradled his camera, sending most of his weight onto his elbows. Pain shot up his elbow as he crashed down but it was quickly overshadowed by the pokemon towering before him. He shuddered at the Rhyperior as it let out an angry cry.

If it hadn't been for the sudden hum of Anima's wings as she swept sand into the Rhyperior's eyes with a quick sand attack, Elerlay would have thought he was done for. He hesitated a moment before grasping a pokeball from his satchel and launching towards the angry pokemon. He could only hope that would be enough.

Elerlay’s camera shutter clicked rapidly as he snapped a picture of the glameow that snoozed in front of him. He shifted into yet another position - moving steadily into a crouch.

He focused the camera as the pokemon stirred and slid it's gaze over Elerlay. He snapped another picture. The Pokemon sat up and peered into the camera. He snapped another picture. The pair continued their photoshoot as the crowd of pokemon and trainers grew around them.

Elerlay picked his way through the rocks - carefully testing each step to be avoid slipping. He paused momentarily, eyeing a nearby pelipper who seemed to be searching through the rocky area for its next meal. He lifted his camera and aimed. The soft click startled the pokemon and, without hesitation, it took flight. He watched it drift away before continuing along the rocks.

The roar of the waves had died down since earlier in the morning. Storms had been rolling through for the better part of the time Elerlay had been in Lillycove. He was hoping to update some of his marine photography but, so far, had only managed to get shots of the storm driven waves as they came crashing down.

He could hear the soft hum of Anima's wings as she swept across the beach, eyeing the shoreline for specimens that Elerlay could document. He ventured towards the rockier areas, hoping the storm had made some shallows that could provide opportunities for close up shots.

Elerlay's specialty was not tailing people. He lurked some distance behind the girl and her Dragapult. He was trying, and likely failing since he paused to snap a picture here and there, to appear as though he had somewhere to be. Despite his focused attention, he couldn't help but notice some weary gazes as he and his mark passed others on the street -- he wasn't sure who was catching so many looks, him or the girl. But he hurried past regardless, reminding himself he "had somewhere to be" and he better look it.

The trio followed the streets until Elerlay wasn't really quite sure where he was anymore. Not that he was too familiar with Sootopolis to begin with. He wondered if he'd be able to ask for directions if he needed to. Team rocket's occupation didn't mean that everyone turned into some sketchy criminal, right? Still, something told him it wouldn't be wise to ask.

He'd started mentally retracing his path when the girl he was following bolted. Panic spiked through his veins -- although he wasn't sure why -- and he too took off towards the same alley that the girl was headed for. As he neared, the barking and growling drew his attention from the girl to further into the alleyway. That was, until he rushed right up to the girl - unaware that he'd managed to outpace her. He slid to a stop just before running over her and her pokemon. "Oh, my, sorry. Uhm, I… didn't see you there..." Quick thinking wasn't really Elerlay's specialty either.

Elerlay sprawled himself across the top of one of the massive boulders - slowly working closer towards the edge so that he could get an over head shot of a nearby riolu. He'd spent longer than he'd admit inching across the rock but he was finally able to see the pokemon from his perch. He teetered as he slid his camera forward and aimed at the pokemon below. He'd never know if his slow army-crawl had left him unnoticed or if the riolu simply didn't care about him. Either way, he had a great view through his camera lense.

The riolu had just started it's attack, Elerlay steading his camera in anticipation, when someone called out in the distance "Who's the goodest boy here?". The riolu turned and Elerlay lifted his sight from the camera -- both peering curiously at a little girl (Eris Halla ) as she waved around a stick.

Sootopolis has been taken by team rocket. Here they were again, with team rocket rearing it's ugly head. His mom had urged him to stay away from the city but he couldn’t always help where work took him - never mind that he accepted the client voluntarily. So here he was, lurking through the alleyways to find… something. A rather interesting client had approached him earlier this week and asked him to ”just have a look around and bring me pictures of anything juicy.” If the offer hadn’t been right, he would have turned the client away. He freelanced when he needed to but journalism wasn’t exactly his forté. If he was honest with himself, he might admit he was out of his depth. But honesty wasn’t with him tonight.

Elerlay adjusted his bag on his shoulders and clicked through his camera settings to double check they were set for low-light. The soft hum of a feminine voice drew his attention down the alleyway. He creeped his way to the end of the alley just in time to hear something about a missing poochyena and his brow quirked. Could this be … “juicy”?

He decided to see where this might take him and settled back into the alley a little, trying to discretely maintain sight of the girl and her partner.

”Ah, we need to adjust the lights.” Elerlay announced as he peered through the lense of his camera. He straightened out of his half-bent stance and motioned to Albert - a Sirfarfetch’d who had substituted his weapon of choice for a light pole for the night. The pokemon huffed a response and dragged the light back a few inches. ”Yes, that’s great, thank you.” He said, steadying his eye against the camera again.

A few feet in front of Elerlay, his tripod, and lights, a little girl and her mom giggled. They stood against a backdrop that glittered against the soft light. ”Ok, ready?” The pair nodded eagerly in response. ”One, two,” they gripped each other and held their smiles ”three!”

Click. The light let out a soft pop as it lit up the area and captured the duo against a wall of red and gold twinkles. ”Ok, one more!” He announced and the light popped and lit up the area again. The little girl giggled as he raised from his half-bend again. ”That’s great. I think we have some good options for you. Right this way and you can choose which picture you like.” He motioned the two towards a small kiosk that was manned by Mr. Harold, a wrinkled old man with prominent bushy brows.

Elerlay nudged Albert as the trio chattered about the pictures and prices. He winked at the old Sirfarfetch’d but only got another huff in return. ”Oh come on, old man, it’s only for tonight.” It didn’t really matter what he told the pokemon, though. This was just his nature now. Elerlay gave a soft laugh and stretched his back. Hunching over a tripod wasn’t something he was very used to but Mr. Harold insisted he needed the help.

Their booth -- or rather, Mr. Harold’s booth -- was nestled towards the end of the rest, off to the side just a little so the other vendor’s light wouldn’t impact the lighting in their pictures. It was fun tonight but Elerlay didn’t know how Mr. Harold did this all day. He had to admit, though, the old man knew his stuff. The backdrop lit up perfectly and the shades of red and gold glitter gave the pictures a glowing warmth that were drastically different to Elerlay’s usual work.

”Alright dearies, enjoy your picture!” Mr. Harold called out to the duo before turning his attention back to the crowds. ”Come capture tonight’s special moment! Get your picture!” The old man’s voice howled into the rush of the crowd.

You didn't used to live here. You have distant memories of a home that was very different from Hoenn. But you haven't seen home in so long, you're not really sure if your memories are real or just what you imagine when Mama tells you stories about the little village you're from.

All you know is life now, in a cluttered little apartment that's tucked away under the landlord’s store. Mama has thick books piled everywhere and you watch her pour over a new pile every night. You do the same -- flipping through each page as if you could read the tiny words. Mama says the books are for “research” and all the words and pictures help her do her job.

You decide you're going to make a book like Mama's books. You start drawing everything you see - plants, pokemon, people. Next to each drawing (stick figures) you make sure to have lots of tiny words (scribbles) just like Mama's books. You're disappointed that your drawings don't look like the pictures in Mama's books but you still wrap it up and give it to her and she's still impressed.

You continue making books like Mama's until one day you ask her how the pictures in her books look the way they do -- how are they so pretty and why can't you get yours to look the same. She covers a laugh and explains that those pictures are taken with a camera. She lets you take a picture with an old camera, prints it, and let's you have it for your book. From then on you wait eagerly for Mama to let you take pictures with her camera and to get them pasted into your books. She compliments your work (and tries to encourage you to write words instead of scribbles).
