He got her! But the brief victory was short lived. Before Oliver could follow it up, she spat blood in his eyes, making him step back and try to wipe it off. That allowed her to ram her shoulder right into his own gut. Oliver wasn't a particularly big man, being only five foot seven, and weighing in at 142 lbs. He was rammed right into the guard rail, but not over it. He attempted an elbow to her back, then try to flip her over him right into the sea via trying to grab her waist/stomach and lift/fling her. Even if it meant getting smacked hard in the back of his head. Either way, seeing what the robotic creature was going to do, he tossed a pokeball...

Dragonite's attacks and raw endurance seemed to catch the creature by surprise. In an act of desperation, it targeted the civilians. Chansey got in the way of one, using Light Screen to block the attack, even as the civilians were frozen in fear. The released Pokeball revealed Inteleon, who swiftly got in the way of the second attack, also using Light Screen. Dragonite dove down in front of the middle head, daring it to make a move. That stare down didn't last...Dragonite wanted to end this, more so before his allies' Light Screens failed against the flames. Opening his mouth, he charged up his most powerful attack. The metal beneath it crumpled away and shockwaves could be felt just from the charge up. Then the Hyper Beam blasted out. Thankfully, the ship proper nor any civilians were behind the beast.

A bloodthirsty Pokemon hunting people...never a good thing. Something that Oliver really needed to do was get a Pokemon that knew Odor Sleuth. Well, he had the Pokemon, but they had other gifts. Oliver brought his Dragonite as his main brawler to fight this beast, Breloom to act as support, and Chansey for healing and triage. The red head wore his ranger uniform and sort of skirted around the crowds. One of them caught his attention, if only because of how one of them treated and spoke to one of them. With the fog, he sort of kept close to listen in and see if this Kouji guy is actually a threat. Maybe not to him, but to this Isaac guy. Even with others there, including another ranger beyond him, hopefully the guy would keep focused on the job at hand. They needed to work together on this.

Unless someone here was with Rocket. Then they can just get mauled into obl...wait...was that a child?! Through the fog, he noticed a small figure riding a Luxray. Handy as that is in this type of situation, a child has no place here! As concerned as he was for this situation with that Kouji character, he started to walk towards the child. In speaking distance, he waved at her. "Hello there. I'm Oliver, a ranger. There's a big scary Pokemon around here, a kid shouldn't be here. Why don't you head back to Fortree City." Oliver kept his tone gentle. He often had a way with kids, and tried to get her away from here. At least all the other volunteers were adults and knew what they were getting into.

Asks her to leave, but we all know that ain't happening.

Dragonite/Chansey/Breloom

Oliver went into a roll as she put her hand on his back to continue her jump. Upon landing on his feet again, he spun, bracing his baton for the sword strike. As expected, the two weapons clashed, with his weapon bending a little. Then he dashed forwards, weapons scraping against each other. It did not take long, and he was practically in her face, pushing the sword up and aiming a punch to the gut. She was fast on her feet, he'll give her that. So many Rockets relied on their Pokemon and brute tactics that once they faced someone that bypassed the Pokemon battle and on them, they were complete wimps. They forgot that they could get involved in a fight personally. This was quite refreshing to him, honestly.

Dragonite had sharp eyes, and this new Pokemon was no slouch itself. Despite being a flying type, probably?, it took the Thunder Punch, and countered with the other two heads. With his free hand, Dragonite's fist burst into flames and knocked one Flash Cannon away, only to be hit by the other on semi on his right side. Spinning, water gathered quickly for an Aqua Tail at the body. With the spin and attack combo done, he flew back and around, seeing what the creature's next move was going to be. This new opponent was a beast itself, and no stranger to battle. This may end up being a battle of attrition...

WHAT IS THE IC REASON FOR YOUR CHARACTER'S PARTICIPATION?: Danger? Violent Pokemon? Never fear, Rangers are here! And maybe a good way to get promoted!

Ever started his adventure. Though Ollie did wonder if the guy had thought about Pokemon abuse when he mentioned the punching and kicking part, considering how his spine had stiffened. Or perhaps some past trauma. Nevertheless, work was hardly the best place or time to probe, let alone share secrets with coworkers. And the pink haired guy remained expressionless and driven. Entering it, the first thing that Ever noticed was footprints. Both Dragonite's and other, more native Pokemon. Soon, however, the tracks would disappear, replaced by broken or folded back foliage as the dragon evidently took flight. Even some signs that he flapped his wings incredibly hard.

Just the same, Oliver noticed that his fellow ranger checked the position of the sun. It was always good to remain fully aware of what time it was, approximately, but also where you were located. Even if it wasn't intentional, Ollie was quick to had Ever to a list of people he would gladly partner up with for missions, simply due to his skills so far. A loud roar would sound throughout the forest. Dragonite, playing his part. Granted, it almost sounded like it came from all around them. Even if the Dragon was hovering with his stubby, but powerful wings, it didn't sound like he was moving at all. The red head wondered if the man could pinpoint where the roar had come from.

The singing medic was too far away from the main perpetrator to be effective. But she stood on standby. When the Rocket reached for her sword and drew it, he suppressed a smile. "Good to know that not all of you are paper Pyroars, and let your Pokemon do all the work." But did she know how to actually use that blade? She confidently spoke back. Oh, he really wanted to respond to that, even at risk of it being a male genital joke/saying, but she didn't give him the chance. She finished closing the distance and aimed a swipe to his chest. The red head ducked underneath it, and surged forward, aiming a baton blow to her right knee, hoping to cripple her mobility right off the bat.

The Paradox Pokemon took the Hurricane no problem, and looked back, trying to analyze Dragonite. Problem was...he was a bit more unpredictable and experienced than what the creature may realize. Even with the barrage of Dark Pulses heading towards him, the Dragonite still avoided damage while closing in. Always moving every so slightly as to avoid the attack completely. Up until he was in striking distance, only then did a single Dark Pulse hit. Only for an electrified fist that was Thunder Punch fly through the smoke and aimed right at the chest of the creature without pause. As the smoke cleared, there would be a mark on the scaly hide, showing the hit. But otherwise, the dragon seemed unfazed.

Ollie gave the leader a cheeky grin as he scanned everyone else. Minor injuries. Looked like everyone got the hint after the Raticate bit off the hand. With a pair of ear plugs pulled from a pouch, he gave Chansey one order as the battle started. "Sing." The pink blob started to sing her heart out, having finished tending to the trainer now missing a hand. Hopefully it would reach the leader of the group too. But if not...Oliver would take out his baton, extending it, and stalked towards her. He half wondered if she would be a standard Rocket or actually abide a one versus one battle.

For Dragonite's part, the burst did catch him off guard. However, the dragon wasn't slow by any means. With a single flap of his powerful wings, he barely managed to avoid a Flamethrower, and threw a whirlwind that was Hurricane back at it. This fight was not going to be easily won by either side. Oliver and his Dragonite were veterans of the Johto war, and had crossed paths with the leader of Team Rocket on Mt. Pyre during Meteno, and stood his ground against the tyrant. Hopefully his quick crowd control would maybe make the leader think twice about this. If not...well, the man would like to maybe get promoted with the capture of a Rocket operative.

Oliver was inside the ship when the attack happened. Just going over some things with the captain. The attack was swift and brutal on deck, and the members were quick to invade the other parts of the ship. Until they hit the wheelhouse, where the captain and Oliver resided. Then they got their teeth knocked in. Fighting could be heard inside, and just as fast as they had invaded the main boat, it was repulsed. The same Raticate that bit off the hand had to duck to avoid a tossed rocket, and then got punted off the ship by a human. While standing only at five foot seven, the bright, cyan eyed young man was a paragon among mortal men. Oliver had red and black hair, wore a standard ranger uniform, and had a fair few of ear piercings. Armed with nothing more but a baton at his side and a mask, the ranger was a tough cookie. And did not shy away from attacking both man and Pokemon.

Breloom did look a bit tired though, from the swift Spore and clear. Returning it, Oliver released two more, his faithful Dragonite and his Chansey, who started to use Heal Pulse on the man now missing a hand. With his Dragonite crossing his arms and looking very intimidating, the duo stared down the robotic looking creature. He had to assume that this was a Paradox Pokemon. "You said something about cooked flesh? I'd love to see you attempt that on me. Dragonite, your turn." With a single flap of his wings, Dragonite was already fifty feet up, and zooming back down with electrified fists in Thunder Punch.

So the guy was from Galar? Since the incident regarding the Chien-Pao and Zamazenta, he'd been a little curious about the place. Particularly since the big clash between Necrozma and the skeletal being that it fought. The Darkest Day. Well, perhaps another time. The pink haired man seemed to debate between the two. Ollie's Braviary wasn't much bigger than normal, but knew how to cause a ruckus if needed. Dragonite was more tempered, but proud of his strength. He was also Ollie's first Pokemon, and definitely his strongest. Ever decided on his good buddy, Dragonite. Starting off with perhaps the bigger challenge...interesting.

"Interesting choice. Alright, head on out Dragonite. We'll see how his tracking skills are and then how he approaches a big mean dragon." And then the real fun would begin after that. The dragon moved through the woods, making a lot of noise and not being stealthy at all. "Let's give him ten minutes. Also let's him get into character. Don't worry, you won't be hurting him very much if you have to actually punch or kick him." He's used to a little rough housing. Having set a timer, they just waited for it to go off. Once it did, he nodded at Ever to continue.

The pink haired man arrived! And seemed very stoic. Oliver shrugged at the question. "I've just been scouting around. It's pretty quiet right now. Nice to meet you, too. I'm Oliver Shrakes, originally from Johto. I take it you're Ever Blackwell?" Even with his unprofessional looking attire, Oliver was all business, holding out his hand for a handshake. Whether Ever took it or not, the mostly red head continued. "Seemed like the higher ups wanted me to train you how to calm down a Pokemon should you not have the right one with you. I have both my Dragonite and Braviary with me that'll make good training partners. So whichever one you wanna use. Sometimes, going at it personally also makes the wild Pokemon respect you more, and are more apt to listen to you without actually catching them."

There were a variety of ways to do that. How he finally managed to get his Breloom to listen to him was by actually going at it with the Pokemon in several duels of varying kinds. Wild Pokemon on the other hand, were a bit more...varied. Sometimes simple kindness and asking what's wrong was all it took. Other times, you had to get into fisticuffs. Others still, a combination of things.

Oliver waited on another cadet to show up. One that was younger than him and less experienced. But he had heard good things about him. Actually, the only bad thing he heard was that the guy didn't know how to take it easy. Oliver could sometimes get intense, especially when supidity flowed, but supposedly, this guy takes the cake. Ever Blackwell was the name. With so many calamities and other stuff going on, one had to be on their toes. And this training exercise was calming down Pokemon if you didn't have the right one with you. Sometimes, you have to have a bit of a personal touch. And that can get a bit rowdy, having to balance out using violence or just careful manuevering so you don't get hurt and using a calm but authoritative voice and tone. Sometimes even having to prove that you're the top person in the hierarchy.

Oliver was plenty early. The red and black haired punk ranger had a full team with him, though admittedly, only his Dragonite and Braviary had experience in pretending to act out and be all rowdy and causing issues. The others either did cause issues themselves or just never trained to be training assistants in that fashion. And so he waited patiently for the young man to show up, hoping that the guy was easy to get along with.
