From Paxton's description, it seemed pretty much a garuntee that they were talking about the same Pokemon. "Yep, it did the same. Spoke telepathically, and desperately trying to get out of the dome. I was doing some investigation of the dome when I noticed it." Although it seemed Paxton's and Luka's encounters were much more violent in nature. Both cases sounded like mistaken association. Luka's interaction was in Shoal Cave, dealing with the cultists he had heard about in reports. But it was looking for the Titan. He also addressed the eating comment. "It's body morphed to consume my Dragonite. When it did...my buddy couldn't get out. Then it spat him back out unnaturally, its paw turning into my Dragonite's head, and blasted at the dome with Hyper Beam. Then it left. Dragonite seemed perfectly fine, if a bit disturbed by the experience. But he was as strong as ever."

He thought some more about the titan as Luka continued on. What they are? "I'd hazard a guess that the titan they were looking for was a legendary, perhaps Articuno. It has the ability absorb Pokemon and copy their abilities and powers to an extent. The last time I met it, it mentioned a creator, that the creator didn't have a body, just made them and that only them knew its purpose. I would hazard a guess Arceus, but I get the feeling that it was more by human hands. The no body comment could mean an AI of some sort gave it a directive. Or maybe not an AI, but a voice from a different room. I hope I don't sound too crazy..." After all, they could resurrect fossils, even the...wierd ones from Galar. Would it be so much a stretch that someone could make a Pokemon?

Dragonite soldiered on after the direct attack, and struck hard at the opening that others had provided, killing the birb, though it wasn't immediately apparent. Once the poisonious globs stopped moving and just became polluted liquid, Oliver figured the battle was over. Flying down, he inspected the body to find an egg. That immediately started to hatch. Uh oh. Out from the egg was another one of those odd looking Articuno, minus the armor. It...actually looked both cool and majestic. Looking up at him with those slitted eyes, Ollie took out a little bit of food and fed it. As it pecked at the food, the tail feathers wrapped themselves around his leg. Did it...just imprint on him? Well, that could be both good and bad he guessed. Dragonite could at least teach it to fly. "C'mere little buddy." The birb hopped on his arm, then settled on his shoulder, rubbing against his head.

Then back to the mine carts they went, completely ignoring the cheers and the crowning of a Rocket boy and Caleb Harcourt. Going back, the ore didn't seem to be part of the sludge. So he just flew all the carts he could get towards the Pokemon Center. At the crowd, he spoke up. "Whoever is a scientest or smeltor, can you take a look at these, they seem...odd. And possibly connected. If we knew more about it, we could potentially be in a better position to defend ourselves. I highly doubt this is over." With that, he zipped on over to the Pokemon Center that was likely to get overwhelmed, and added his Dragonite to the list.

ONE MONTH LATER

As cleanup continues, and further fortifications maybe being developed/made, Oliver notices the writing in the bloody looking sludge. Unnerving him. A Skeleton Hand and a Black Knight. He couldn't think of any Pokemon that would fit those descriptions. If this "prophecy" was correct...then his warning a month earlier was very much right. Training camps were going to be needed. Going over to Caleb Harcourt and Isaac Merlo, he would ask them a question. "You guys heard about the prophecy and/or message? I think we need to prepare for the future struggle. Not just training ourselves up, but the citizenry as well. Permission to create a training camp of sorts? I'll gladly take any volunteers to assist in training." He wasn't even going to descriminate between Rocket and League. Although he would still be extremely wary of any Team Rocket Members.

THE FIRST YEAR

The training camps had been helpful, even as interrupted as they had been due to the attacks. Even when he was in the middle of training the baby Galarian Articuno, he had to go to action. Leading from the front, he was there with the others to fight against wave after wave of highly aggressive sludge monsters. He would also join others in fighting against the Dynamaxed and Gigantimaxed threats that rose from time to time. It just seemed like he didn't have enough time for anything, but the training camps were proving to be well worth it.

TEN YEARS LATER

Ten years of constant fighting and struggling...what a decade. Whle Oliver was older, and had gained an enormous amount of combat experience along with his Pokemon, the biggest surprise was the Galarian Articuno, now fully grown, and a member of his team, if unofficially. He had made special riding gear for the Articuno, and they had practiced as well. It seemed to have enjoyed being around him when he could, more so when he decided to use it a time or two for the threats that still happened. Certainly not his ace, but still a very strong card for him to have.

Even so, when Necrozma appeared...things went to shit real fast. His training camps couldn't prepare for this. While they were able to stall it enough to make it leave, the devastation wrought was...painful. His Chansey did what it could to help out, but...things were bound to happen. New discoveries were made, however, from the metal that they were slowly peeling off the Necrozma. Oliver had a war club imbued with Freezing Glare. Even so, he continues the training camps, doing his best to prepare not just the citizenry, but also whoever wishes to train up. They were going to need all the power that they could get, and there was one way for him to contribute towards that.



TLDR
Inspected Articuno's body to find EGG. EGG hatches into baby Articuno. Takes it with him.
Brings minecarts full of ore to the Pokemon Center, Calls on Smiths and Scientists to study them. Gives dire warning that this isn't over.

One Month Later, sees the writing on the walls, with permission from Isaac Merlo and Caleb Harcourt, sets up a training camp with volunteers to prepare for the coming storm.
The First Year, Oliver is bounced around training the baby Articuno Birb and defending the town. His training camps proving to be fruitful...hopefully.
Ten years later, Galarian Articuno is now fully grown, complete with riding gear.
Necrozma attacks, and Ollie does what he can to assist in driving it back. A war club imbued with Freezing Glare is made for him.
Continues with his training camps and his own personal training.

Oliver took one look at the minecart and had Dragonite set it down. Some kind of glowing ore...similar to that of the poison. Were these the cause? Looking back at the commotion, the train was destroyed along with more of those hands. Good. Taking a stick, he poked at the ore, just to see what happens. That was when even more went wrong. A Garboder Gigantimaxed in the station, and a pokemon resembling Articuno was attacking the walls. Fan-fucking-tastic. He didn't know the full situation...and if these ores were part of the cause...best leave them here for now. And let the others deal with the threat inside. He may not be a one man army, but hopefully one more person would assist with the Articuno.

Hopping back on Dragonite's back, they took off towards the gate. Flying high above, he could see the hoard of other corrupted Galarian Pokemon following the flying-type. And upon closer inspection, the Articuno was armored with the same black fragments that were falling off of Zamazenta. That definitely wasn't good. "Dragonite, use Thunder Punch, let's take that bird out and see what we can find afterward..." Still riding on Dragonite's back, the dragon's fist surged and glowed with lightning as it darted towards Articunto for an electrofied punch to the face!

TLDR
Oliver is riding on Dragonite.
Had Dragonite set down minecart, poked ore with a stick.
Decided to leave it there, and hopped back on and left to the entrance.
Uses Thunder Punch on the Armored Galerian Articuno.

Oliver arrived in a pollution filled city. The smell alone made him gag. No city should be like this...not even Rustboro or anywhere else was near this bad! Looking around, others were also appearing. But there were bigger threats around. He barely took a few steps forward and turned to see someone get eaten by the sludge. Fuck him sideways. Hopping on Dragonite, they took to the air and did some scouting. The source of the sludge was the train station. Looking around, he saw the broken bridge and the mine carts just on the other side. That could be useful for plugging up holes. Oliver didn't really notice the civilians odd garb. Moving back down, he'd give a heads up to everyone that followed him.

"So, that sludge is menacing, and is coming from the train station and the overhead tracks. The civilian population managed to put up some palistide walls, but I don't think that's going to last. Especially not since those poisonous hands come from the sludge to attack people. Rockets, I don't speak for all the Rangers and League aligned peeps here, but I'll at least hold to a truce until this matter is resolved. Maybe even until we get back home.

There's some minecarts that may be useful just across a broken bridge. Wave us down to deliver some to you to plug up some holes or slow it down." He hoped the Rockets that followed them would agree, and his fellow comrades. You know something is dangerous when it seemed like to get through this, both of them had to team up. 

With blistering speed, Oliver and Dragonite moved towards the broken bridge and mine carts. The dragon picked up a full cart, though not easily, and started to fly over with noticably less speed. The red haired ranger did look inside it, but only to see if anything useful might be in it. Then again, he also kept look on the ground, seeing where to hand off his first delivery.

Oliver's shoulders sagged. Well shit, so much for their mission. He had to look away from the execution. So much for that too. At least put the guy out with just one, not a bunch of people. With a heavy sigh, he saw the change. Portals to different places in Galar. Returning Dragonite, and lettiong Bastiodon out, he first watched where some people were going. 

And saw luka chêne trying to bury the Pokemon. Noble as it was, those portals weren't going to stay open forever. The mission was more important, and they couldn't just stay for long. So he went to Motostoke. He didn't know Galar that well. But it was one that no one was going to yet. Figured try his luck there. Maybe with less distractions he could actually do his job. Or if Rocket members followed him, he could trim some of their numbers. Assuming he himself wasn't just overwhelmingly outnumbered.

Still, with his most defensive oriented Pokemon out, he was through. It was much warmer here. He doubted he'd find Chien-Pao here. But maybe he could find out some clues. Off to look he goes...

No such luck on finding their querry.
Finds what Luka is doing noble, but time is of the essence, and they have a job to do.

The kiddo was fine, thankfully. Just...underdressed for the weather. At least Oliver had a ranger's jacket on. Probably the only reason he wasn't as freezing as most others. That, and he was used to the Ice Path by his hometown of Blackthorne City. He did kind of found it sad that a child had a pretty good idea about Rocket. "Doesn't look like it, though that latter one wouldn't surprise me either. I've been to the Icelands, this doesn't fit it. I would hazard a guess to be either the Crown Tundra in Galar or Route 217 in Sinnoh. Hard to say which..." He wasn't too familiar with either place, having never been, but seen videos about them.

Then all hell broke lose. Freaking MATIAS SILPH ! He'd never actually interracted with the guy, but already seemed like a zero to one hundred thirty type! The kiddo answered his question, nevertheless. "I'll switch to my Dragonite. We're pretty far, even if you booked it, I don't think you'd make it in time. He already has a saddle on him if you're interested in the flight. It'd be much faster. I'll help you up on him, if you'd like to go that route..." Very much faster...his Dragonite had outflew Josh Devlin 's, even when it was using Extreme Speed. The offer was on the table at least. He returned his Chansey and released his Dragonite again. The dragon knelt down to help Hideo up if he chose to. Oliver would do the same and off to the races they went, where a battle was sure to be going on.

When the got there, a new Pokemon was there, talking. He barely heard what it was saying as Dragonite was slowing down next to another kid (absalom steel ). Just why were these children here?! Neither of them should be here! Well, either way, getting off, he would ask his own question. "Where is Zamazenta and Chien-Pao?" Dragonite's fists were engulfed in flames for Fire Punch, just in case any of those Glacial Lances came towards them.

Sadly, Oliver didn't get the chance to respond to Luka about the strange Pokemon she encountered. But it all sounded like it was the same one. With everything else being discussed, it was maybe more prudent to continue later. Paxton arranged the meeting. The red and black haired punk-ish looking ranger brought a copy of both of his reports regarding the strange Pokemon. After arriving into the room five minutes early, he nodded at the man. "I've brought copies of both of my reports regarding the strange Pokemon. I've seen the piles on my former boss's desk, I can easily see a report going missing and/or getting overlooked." He gave a small laugh. Hopefully that would relax them a little.

When Luka came in, or if she was already there, he would answer her question. "To answer your question, it was. I think we did encounter the same strange Pokemon. How did your interractions go?" Both of his seemed pretty...peaceful? At most, the Pokemon did "eat" his Dragonite, then spat him back out, using a Hyper Beam to try to break the dome. Other than that...oh the creature did look like it was going to harm him in the Icelands, but ended up not. Wonder what changed its mind?

While Oliver's attack did manage to work to some extent, only melted a section of the Avalanche. Dragonite had to avoid the rest of it, but the bottoms of his feet and a good portion of his tail got nicked and scarred. It wasn't enough though, as Zamazenta fell to the other multitude of attacks and the others being too slow to react. Damn the luck! Then things got worse.

With a blinding light, Ollie blacked out.

When he awoke, Dragonite was near him, likewise just waking up. They sure as hell weren't in Hoenn anymore. Getting up and sighing heavily, he could feel the anger and hatred bubble up. Like always, it was Rocket. But he had a job to do, Rocket can wait. "Well, so much for plan A." With a flap of his wings, Dragonite was hovering a little. Poor baby...returning Dragonite for his buddy to rest, he took out Chansey. He probably should have had Boltund with him instead of Galvantula, but it was what it was. Soon, he saw Cillian Quinn 's Shadow Lugia. That was a tempting target. But his first priority was Zamazenta. 

Hearing Genevieve Cromwell 's cry for help, he was about to do so when John Sullivan radioed in. That was good. Looking out...he was far away from anything, and had the high ground. "I see the statue, but be advised, you guys are going to get a lot of company real soon. Also be advised, Shadow Lugia is in the air. I'm...not exactly close to be of much help here, so I'm going to see if I can find Zamazenta." Not that anyone without eyes couldn't see it. 

Walking down the hill, he saw a small figure. Really smol. The red headed punk ranger loudly trotted through snow towards the child. "Hey kiddo, are you or your Pokemon hurt anywhere? Chansey will heal ya right up..." Chansey made a cute noise to confirm that she was well and ready to help out with Heal Pulse. "There's a statue that everyone is gathering at, but we're pretty far out. I'm a Ranger, Cadet Oliver Shrakes. I'm personally going to try to find Zamazenta...what about you? Might be best to stick together, yeah?" Oliver didn't know the kid, or anything about him. But he did hope that he wasn't going to the battlefield...

TLDR

Dragonite's feet and tail got injured by Avalanche due to dice gods not being nice.

Oliver didn't quite know how to feel about the order to kill the Ruinous Pokemon. He supposed if there was no other way. But he will do what he can to help either way. The red head rode on his signature Dragonite towards the ancient tomb along with others. And soon it became apparent that the fight had already begun. And Team Rocket was there. But almost immediately, they were accosted by an Avalanche, as someone's Salazzle sent a Flamethrower at Zamazenta's way. His Dragonite was not slow, and they were experienced in high stakes maneuvers. Weaving around the falling rocks and ice, Oliver and his Pokemon stopped in front of the incoming stream of fire.

"Hurricane." With a single, dramatic flap of his smol wings, a huge wind storm gusted out, attempting to blow the flames right back into the Avalanche or hopefully more. Two ruinous Pokemon were here it seemed...and he was ready to prove that legends can fall. All the while protecting one. Just a day in the life of a ranger he supposed...

Arrives on scene riding his Dragonite.

paxton concordas seemed to have taken some interest in his report. Huh...then again, lots of reports to go through, it might have gotten missed. He really couldn't blame the man. He'd seen some of those piles. "Yes sir. I first encountered it when patrolling Hoenn's water routes investigating the dome. It was trying to get out. After a concentrated assault, it absorbed my Dragonite, then spat him back out. Otherwise, my Dragonite was fine. But the Pokemon left without further incident. In the Icelands, I was able to question and talk to it more extensively. Some of the answers I got were...ominous. While it didn't attack me, it did look like it was about to, but decided to leave. I decided not to follow it." It was all in his report, but reading can get boring. And Oliver would be glad to detail his interraction in a separate meeting.

Seemed like he had some agreement with the other big names. He may not know Razz Kingsman that well, but he was already liking him. Speaking of training pokemon, Oliver really needed to do that with some of his. Either way, paxton concordas outlined some problems with some of the other organizations. A strict rule of neutrality and defectors. Good points both. The news of a Shadow Machine that helps turn Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon was news. And while Oliver didn't agree with Paxton's demeanor about it, he did agree with the question. Unless it was in the former Rocket's report and no one just read it, which is on them. Ollie didn't think he was authorized to even look at it, he was technically a cadet. And really had been one for too long. Maybe he should finally throw his hat in for a promotion after a few more missions.

He did have to give Rowan Wrynn some credit, he liked how the man was conducting himself. Rocket defector he may be, but the fact he was sharing information so willingly should speak highly of him. Still, the process of creating shadow pokemon was disturbing, and couldn't help but agree with Rowan. If they hammered out supply issues, they would do it again. Doing it to Legendary Pokemon may take a lot more resources than standard ones.

Far as the Silent Icelands go..."I don't mean to contradict Nikolaj Volosenkov a little bit, but the strange Pokemon I have in my report I met again there, copying an Arctibax's power. Granted, it left pretty quickly, but it was in the area..." Though despite being stationed in Lilycove, he'd be more than willing to map it out and help out with investigations.

Oliver listened in. A lot about the legendaries. While he did agree with finding them and making sure that they don't harm anyone, and making sure that Rocket can't get a hold of them, he kind of felt like too much emphasis was being made on them. He certainly agreed with Laurence Anderson about the how the League looks. "On that note, the League is already in a tough spot. It's on a bit of a losing streak, hasn't it? Sootopolis City shortly before I was transferred here, the destruction of Littleroot during Meteno, and more I'm sure I'm missing. While I do agree that finding and making sure Rocket doesn't get a hold of legendary Pokemon, I feel as though we're putting too much emphasis on them. As Rocket proved, legendaries can indeed be killed, defeated in battle. It's tough, but possible. I can't help but think that the League needs to find a way to strike at Rocket and get a much needed victory. Not just gather a bunch of legendary Pokemon.

That said, the troubling Pokemon I've met in the Silent Icelands and when the dome was around Hoenn probably should be more looked into. Though I will volunteer for any mission supporting or being involved in searching out the legends, I feel like we need to focus on thinking about strategies to defeat Rocket's own, and maybe giving them a dose of their own medicine." He kind of felt like this talk about finding some really powerful Pokemon wasn't the right way to go. But rather, focus on Rocket. Too much time and energy from others already tried finding the various Legendary Pokemon, why put too much of a focus on that?
