he was going to try to offer one of his dogs to do the tracking instead, but lets melody's herdier keep its job. kyle wasn't exactly the epitome of professionalism to make a call like that.

getting easily distracted by something minor festers worry despite terrakion's confidence, knowing that he, like kyle, keeps emotions concealed. their destination distances his thoughts away from empathy towards terrakion's junior once they arrive, where matias spews out words that garner the opposite effect when said.

"you're cringe," he nonchalantly tells matias.

terrakion steps forward, adding another gash to the rock. he's all too familiar with it, stepping back to let their leader do the final mark.

"saying it like that makes people think you have ulterior motives." matias' logic goes against conventional ways, where messages between the lines force another to read a statement completely different. "just say the friends part. we know."

sharply, he turns to melody.

"i'm sure any of us can ask for support from the other two if we need it, right?"

the houndour's presence did not make sense for the other pokemon, serving as a method to unnerve those who would think of taking more from the farm.

the pokemon didn't do anything but stand. it manages to catch the eye of one or two pokemon, though it ends up diffusing greed and gluttony from those who want more than their share.

there's something about a dark-type at the garden that scares a few of the simpler-minded pokemon away. it drives them off, leaving only those desperate for food to come close.

the houndour doesn't do anything. the ones that come close get their share and run away. those who plan on getting more have their nerves unnerved, pushing them away from a scenario where the guard retaliates against their wrong doings.

he was a cop dog. it will obviously follow the law and scorch the earth in the case of it being broken.

all plans to go for mediocrity has fallen. kyle takes up a different angle for his take of this race if his wailord wasn't willing to be complacent.

normally, something like a wailord wouldn't be able to maneuver around things. they grew up used to their bulky sizes, but kyle has apparently nabbed one that differs from the rest.

"we'll take lead, m'kay?"

it shows promise for whenever it rides against the waves of the race, and the twists and turns of the course was just another layer to add for the champion's test drive of his pokemon.

it doesn't care for collateral. the wailord brakes and accelerates with each required turn, creating waves while its trainer hangs on.

he does envy the people who got the option to go for the safer side of the course. it was easier to navigate after all.

still, there's no point in complaining when his wailord's the reason why it happened.

"alright, steady now."

the wailord manages to swim through the course, watching a few pass by and a few fall behind. everything was inconsequential at the start, where everyone else, including him, was still trying to get a feel for the course.

he's going to check if the database has information about the face he just took, then he can figure out if these grunts are clones, just like what they saw from the cloud, or people from another dimension.

though his personal objective has been completed, it was time to finish the job he was going to be paid or.

"i got it," he assures noah.

kyle takes out a pokeball, taking a rotom out. inconspicuous as it is, it travels as plasma to paralyze the guy with thunder wave, causing him to seize up and fall forward on his face.

"time to loot."

the chingling floats in the distorted space, knocked out by the wo-chien. kyle wouldn't be able to recall it back, but he can bring it back if its life does cross over the edge.

"you should listen to him," he tells the florist without moving his eyes away from zev.

he retracts his arm, holding the knife up close in an attempt to hold off the brunt of zev's attack. it doesn't carve through his flesh, but it's enough to rip off clothing and narrowly drawing blood.

"you were killing the fun, you know."

kyle was a pacifist, which was a complete inverse of zev. combat training had been the middle ground of their interests, conditioning him to an attachment to the clashing of blades.

for elisabeth to disturb the fleeting feeling of sentimentality, kyle figures the moment is spoiled, or rather, ruined. he calls for the only remedy he knows.

"blow up the stage, matias!"

levitate had been bestowed on kyle through the chingling's entrainment, having used it immediately after trick room. using the force behind zev's strike, he launches himself above the ground, where matias is free to detonate the entire piece of earth underneath their footing.

four? he smirks with amusement as he realizes.

"yeah, you really are stupid," he affectionately calls navy out. "imagine if i wasn't the last gatekeeper."

they would most certainly feel offended rather than amused.

"stand your ground kommo-o," he tells his pokemon, who already was in the process of coating his claws with poison, piercing the blast with something fairies are allergic from. the forearm used was singed with moonlight, powering through the pain with grit.

"obstagoon, it's time!"

a parting shot from the obstagoon attempts to agitate the charizard, who replaced its current target. the granbull comes on its place, wincing as poison welcomes it to the field.

a chorus sounds from the fairy's intro song.

GRANBULL: GRIM GROWL
FAIRY-TYPE
granbull growls eerily, forcing its targets to flee or return to their pokeballs. a curse is placed to those that take their place.

"using high jump kick again? that's ballsy."

kyle was tempted to do the same gag as he did from yesterday, but he lets events play out this time. the glaceon puts up a barrier to defend against it, only for it to break when the raboot crashes.

the ice-type's feet struggle to get back up, but kyle recalls it before it can try.

what remains on the barrier protects the manectric from the rocks that the froakie threw, and had he not been an electric-type, it certainly could have been paralyzed.

on its place, it charges, ready to make use of the last bit of rain.

"but you really should be using other tricks." kyle calls out his mightyena. "or i'll start punishing your predictability."

he wondered if he hung out with kids in that world. he does play with children in his hometown, but that wouldn't translate well with medieval settings of that fantastical galar, he assumes.

"this crystal's good," he says instead. "i'd definitely like her if she can say that to her dad, you're right."

the paradox entei is captured, and they're left with nothing else in the agenda with their objective complete. what comes next is just random spitballing of ideas on how they'll spend their afternoon together, like the good old days.

"but kyle as a name? that's so boring. he'd hate you too if you named him that. at least use lopez or something. that's the cooler part of my name anyways."

kyle steers away from the angst of the topic while remaining on the same subject, keeping the mood lighthearted and nostalgic instead of melancholic and gloomy.

"it means wolf or something, i think. maybe something like rufus, like rockruff, but i guess that's close enough to raffy for raphael."

two ranged attackers have their spaces invaded by the speedsters of cian's team. both of them taking their first damage of the fight.

"oho?" there's surprise, waiting for the extra stuff that cian will do with these pokemon. "and what are you going to do after i do this?"

kyle whistles a tune.

the manectric discharges, spreading its electricity all over the place, frying each pokemon in the field, more particularly the clones of the froakie to get rid of them.

the glaceon finds itself on the receiving end after being hurt by flame charge. it sets up a mirror coat in the midst of being shocked, reflecting back electricity to the manectric, as well as the opposing pokemon around them.
