Honestly speaking, he hadn't entirely known what to expect upon landing (it was already off putting enough to have been rushed, but really, shit happens), so simply speaking, he'd done his best to prepare himself for anything and everything that could and would happen. He'd been rushed in with a thankfully familiar face within lingering moments, but sadly enough, familiarity, alone, proved to provide little source of comfort and the like in the face of what they were thrown into. Needless to say, his attention snapped instantly towards the barrier overtaking their position, but as jarring as it was, it took little time at all for him to realize and appreciate the protection.[break][break]

With a sharp gaze, he braced himself upon entry into the fray, tossing out a familiar capsule of a similarly familiar, mismatched creature, and as it sprung to life from its confinement, he rushed along within the trail of the woman accompanying him without so much as a moment's worth of hesitance upon arrival. As it ran after him within his own trail, it seemed to give a sort of garbled roar as an energy of a spurred Dragon Dance enveloped it.[break][break]

"Gonna need a Hell of an unwinding once all this is said and done...!" he called with a raised tone, sprinting with swift, heavy footsteps as he turned his gaze towards the woman in front of him. Save for a sparing glance towards their surroundings (all for the sake of evasion as necessary, of course), he eyed her with a light chuckle in his tone, despite the situation. "Think you'd be game to join me, after~?"

Truth be told, as they had talked (and as it noted the glances passed its way, every so often), the dual type idling little more than a small distance away had found its own attention drifting towards the woman. At first, its attention was solely on the delicate treat between its flipper. It paid attention to nothing more than the decadent breading and sweetness of the aforementioned pastry, but the more the woman turned her heads towards it, the more it seemed to notice. By the third glance, it glanced over to note what the specks of movement from the corner of its eye was.[break][break]

By the second, it maintained eye contact.[break]
She would see that, from the third onward, its gaze was focused more upon her, despite still continuously snacking.[break][break]

And then, as if the completely soulless gaze it gave was irrelevant, the otherwise off putting, thousand yard stare immediately grumbled the moment the woman placed her hand atop its head, and with a jarring (but otherwise...moderately pleased sounding?) gurgle of a cry, seemed to smile while leaning further into her touch.[break][break]

Its trainer, meanwhile, pressed his lips together into a thinly amused smile.[break][break]

”Nah… Yeah, never been~,” he began with ane ever growing intonation, finding himself still recovering from the rollercoaster of emotions he’d witnessed. He went on, however, saying, ”Hm~. Take me out to dinner, first, and maybe we can make some plans if it goes well~.”

Either way, however, just…watching the leafy little creature before him practically filled him with a sense of tiredness the longer he looked at her. ...What was that word that he’d heard his trainer use, every so often? It started with an ‘I’? Intro...something? Regardless, he knew what it meant, and every time he came into contact with someone much like the odd creature before him, he found himself more and more within his thoughts, thinking that he was exactly what that word described.[break][break]

”...I guess that’s fair, though,” he said, tentatively, after some amount of time; crimson hues narrowing faintly in thought, all the while. Leaning back faintly more, he lowered himself onto his feet, and then to his rear, opting simply to sit down while tilting his head. ”You honestly don’t seem the type to be so…deterred, though.”

Upon noting her initial responses, he merely pursed his lips, offering her a quick wink and chuckle. ”We can come back to that thought after I’m done here~,” had been his own choice of reply, and as he turned to begin leading the way, he hummed gently. ”I’m sure there’d be a few places open later at night, anyways. ...Don’t see why the night would have to end so soon~.”[break][break]

An open as an invitation as it came, even if the intent hadn’t quite been nearly as clear. Regardless, however, he trekked continuously along the hallways as she followed some smaller ways away; azure hues illuminated faintly by the sheen of the light shining so vibrantly within the darkness. Before long, however, he found himself noting her words. Another glance over his shoulder as he turned the corner, continuing on from the space in which the dormitories led into the dining area.[break][break]

”...Like, fresh from the source? Hm. Can’t say I have…” he pondered aloud, shaking his head all the while. ”Never exactly had a reason or way to have it aside from grabbing it from a store shelf, or anything like that.”

No matter. It hadn’t quite gone over his head, but at the very least, it provided some means of amusement and entertainment, nevertheless- even more so as the little reptile accompanying her had gone out of her way to absolutely harass one of the other, passing Pokemon. Although the action in itself was entirely uncalled for, the man couldn’t help but allow a wry smile of shocked amusement to tug upon his cheeks at the sight of the flames; azure hues immediately squinting, and his teeth clenching lightly within a grimace as the poor, poor Lotad found itself at her mercy.[break][break]

Following that, he watched the lizard skitter back towards her trainer, blinking idly and watching as it rested its lower jaw upon the woman’s shoulder. ”...A feisty one, huh~?” the dark haired man mused with a chuckle, humming as his gaze lingered upon the fire type for a small while longer. Soon afterward, however, he found his gaze shifting towards the person by his side as she held her hand out.[break][break]

He gave her a subtle, secondary glance before reaching out to meet it with one of his own.[break][break]

”...Dante, though~,” he went on, a playful touch enveloping his words. ”The feeling’s mutual~.”[break][break]

Words spoken with an amused hum, met in tandem with both a wink and a tug of the lips into a small, yet playful smirk, all the same. Undoubtedly had they been due to the clear looks that he’d seen passed his way, as well as the remarks that he’d been offered. Despite the initial reason that she’d caught (badumtss) his attention, he found the situation at hand to be rather enjoyable- enough for the fragrance of the pumpkin spice she’d brought with her to be little more than an afterthought.[break][break]

He took a moment to gaze past her and towards a few more Pokemon roaming out and about, observing them with a lingering smile upon his lips prior to turning his head towards her, once more. ”Joking aside, though? ...Yeah, I’m fine~. No need to worry about anything.”[break][break]

At those words, he found himself smiling a faint bit more. Amusing. ”Hah. That so~?” he hummed within musing inquiries, narrowing his eyes softly with the rise of his cheeks. His gaze trailed from trainer to Pokemon as he continued on, gently pursing his lips within a sense of amused sympathy at the sight of its disdain and quivering. ”I guess I can’t exactly blame you. ...Kinda have been seeing each other a lot, lately~.”[break][break]

He eyed the little grass type for a while longer before crossing his arms, directing his attention towards her, once more. ”Yeah, though. Patrols. Fun shit.” Another glance towards the fragile little thing within her arms. ”...Although, I gotta admit? Kinda worried for the poor thing~.”[break][break]

He hummed once more in thought.[break][break]

”...You wanna come with me~?” the man went on after a smaller amount of time, tilting his head. ”Was planning on hitting the cafeteria after looking around. ...Can’t exactly make a feast this late at night, but maybe a little snack would help calm her down~.”

He did have to admit that there was something endearing about the eccentricity, and as she rolled her way over (screaming while struggling to put herself upright again), he just stared idly at her as she constantly teetered back and forth. ”...I can see that,” he started off, slowly, and with some degree of ongoing confusion and exasperation, alike. Had he the brows to be able to do so with, he would’ve furrowed them pensively as she rolled aggressively around at his feet, and would’ve also pursed his lips similarly to how he’d seen his trainer do so many times in the past, as well, had he been able to.[break][break]

Despite being a grass type, he had a feeling she’d have the spontaneity of an electric type and the stubbornness of a ground type, alike.[break][break]

Yet, regardless of her type similarities, he merely watched her for a little while longer before leaning down; the scales upon his arms clattering softly together with the movement before he ultimately set his claws upon her (gently, of course) in order to lift her up. With a delicate turn, he set her back onto her tiny little feet before leaning back again.[break][break]

”...I feel like you’d be pretty happy no matter what, though,” he mused on moments after doing so, swaying his tail. ”Just a hunch, honestly.”
