Nia was slightly bored on the front desk, the visitor for today is awfully low but honestly Nia unable to blame them as a library would not be their first destination on celebrating Christmas after all. Nia gently played the sleigh bell, which was supposed to be a decoration, on her hand. She suddenly rang it louder with the entrance of Mars, his entrance slightly surprised her and almost spill the cup of hot chocolate on her desk.

"Sorry bout' that" Nia apologized over the mess that she almost made. "Yeah, we do accept a new applicant for the challenge." Nia clears her throat and starts to introduce the gym. "We offer a traditional course and a nontraditional course" Nia starts to introduce how the gym works. "The traditional course is where you will fight directly the leader in either a single or double battle and prove yourself on doing a creative tactic" Nia starts to explain while giving out a pamphlet about it. "While the nontraditional battle will test your knowledge, the detail on how it works can be read over here" Nia gives him another pamphlet filled with the mechanic of the nontraditional battle.

"Also, Nia Acadia is indeed around, Mars. She is closer than you thought." Nia smiles. She is fully aware that her clothing and makeup when she was sitting at the front desk is completely different than usual so Nia doesn't feel weirded out for Mars didn't recognize her. "Which course do you want to pick, sir?"

Another day for her to pursue another adventure and today's adventure will be a musical one! Nia walks to the building where the Rhytmn Gym is located within the Sootopolis while humming a random tune. Due to the nature of the place, Nia can't help herself to feel musical despite having zero practical knowledge of any musical instrument. She understands music theory and history - That kind of subject can easily learn throughout the books and she has always been interested in classical music history with its prominent composer and their unique trait. She finished out all the things she needs and now she waits in the lobby for someone to pick her up.

Dear Father Winter.

The obliquity of this message might confuse even the brightest mind but please bear with me as I just need someone to spill all my worries even if the recipient is an unknown figure such as you. I had dreams that my current life is not my actual life - A deeper mystery deeply rooted within me. It bothers me so much but all of my family dismiss that notion and claim that it is just an illusion that I just made up out of insomniac episode. I love my mama and papa and I truly want to believe that they don't have anything to hide from me.

I wish that my dream can go away bothering me and let me have a good night's sleep. So, I won't get woken up at the midnight with cold sweat dripping down from a memory that I should not have. What should I do?

Nia explains, completely forgetting that he hasn't actually introduced himself before jotting down his name to her gym record. and gives him the first riddle.

Nia is sitting on the front desk of the Dewford Study Center acting as the front desk manager while wearing a disguise of a nerdy girl and almost no resemblance to her usual look. The library has been decorated with various Christmas ornaments from a Christmas tree that stands tall right in the middle of the reading area and several red ball lanterns with snowflake pictures painted on it hanging on the thread that looms above the ceiling. A man, someone that she has the fortune to meet back at the Snowboy competition - Matias, appears and greets her with a request to challenge Nia. Nia didn't answer promptly as she was in the middle of reading a book but once she finishes the paragraph she puts a bookmark on it and put it on the desk.

"mint frost? Just from the name alone, I feel like I could get along with him nicely" Nia notes on the fact that the name has frost on it, and as an ice-type specialist, she has a sense of camaraderie with him. Then she starts to take out her phone and search for something, "From your explanation, he sounds fun. How about giving this to him instead of an Ice Pokemon?" Nia shows Greyson a picture of a Christmas sweater where it has the pattern of a snowman upside down and a mistletoe dangling on the crotch area [o]. "Cute isn't it?" Nia asks.

Truthfully, despite she has read a lot of books with vast varieties of genres. Her sense of beauty is quite... questionable. "Actually, I think you would look cute in this sweater too. What do you think?" Nia tilts her head putting the picture and Greyson side to side and imagining him in that outfit. Suddenly, in the peripheral of her vision she notices a shift, and an ice-type fossil pokemon, Arctozolt, appear. Their appearance made Chigusa wake up and stare at the fossil pokemon before SINGing and making that Pokemon fall asleep. Nia throws a Pokeball at it.

"So, what do you think? You would look great in this" Nia claims hold no sarcastic tone on it and it is the actual genuine assessment from the lady.

The crowd stops and listens for once, a man takes over to reinforce her voice as a reason to wake people up to further from their fear. Gradually a hand becomes two and then it becomes a community working together saving the poor child that is trapped beneath the building. This group is much easier to work together with compared to when she work together with THEO BECKETT, one would expect having a random group to work together with one goal would be harder than working together with a single person but that man has made it otherwise singlehandedly. "Thank you" Nia gives the man gratitude for helping her and stretches the gratitude to everyone there as she drags and guides children out of the building.

It was going smoothly, too smooth even that Nia feels restless. Suddenly, the earth shakes violently rejecting the puny creature that is grazing over its skin. The Ice shards that act as pillars earlier easily shattered due to the tremor and all around them starts to crumble endangering everyone from being flattened into a pancake. "MAHIRO! NINA! Freeze them with BLIZZARD!" Nia quickly commands two of her pokemon and the cold wind starts to run rampant making the surrounding chills. The collapsing structure starts to freeze due to the cold but Nia fully understands that it won't hold for a long time. "Everyone! Get out from here, now! While the top is still holding" Nia shouts and calls out Chigusa after returning Nina and Mahiro to their Pokeball. "Chigusa, create ICE SHARDS as much as you can"

Chigusa quickly creates several ice shards to reinforce the crumbling building but even that would only give them extra time. Nia stalls her own time to run until everyone is able to get out but if she deems it is impossible - She would give herself the priority and run away with her own and let Chigusa protect at least a single person. With her shell armor, she should still survive albeit injured in the case of getting buried.

Fortunately, Mars has the right pokemon for the job. The ice pillar starts to melt away revealing a gaping entrance to a smaller cave within a cave. Nia takes the lead and makes an entrance to see that it is just a single pathway without any branches road and at the end, Nia found herself in a rather huge area. "A dead-end" Nia makes a remark of her founding but her eyes remain on a single spot where she saw a head of a familiar Pokemon, a head of an Eiscue. Nia gulps seeing a beheaded pokemon but when she tries to get closer she lets out a sigh of relief - It is not an actual head of an Eiscue, it's just a block of ice that is carved with an Eiscue face.

"That's weird" Nia ponder feeling a little bit off. It is too 'square' to be something natural and the carve is clearly manmade. Nia tries to push away the block of ice and asks Mahiro to start digging. She doesn't know what is there but Nia decides to wait, "I wonder what kind of thing is being hidden here? Would you think something valuable to avoid the interest of the bank?" Nia asks Mars as she waits.

As she would have expected it, the grate is really closed. It is confirmed by Theo when he tries to open it. While Nia knows what to answer and what to do, she got tired of being ordered around haphazardly like how Theo has been doing until now. In hindsight, being rude to someone who is superior to you would not bring her any good but she can be careless about that. "Well, you know what to do" Nia throws out a casual remark waiting for him to do it - Using the Teleport whenever he feels like it.

Nia is not entirely sure if it is due to the fall or not but Mahiro comes out from her Pokeball and stares at her trainer who is sitting on the pile of snow. Nia shrugs it off and stands up but once she stood up, Mahiro suddenly lets out a laughter voice, Nia tries to look around but all she sees is that Mahiro is pointing at her butt. Curious, she takes a picture of her own behind and notices that the snow cling to her butt and form a snow mustache on it. Nia snickers when she realized it, now she has two faces one is on the top and the other is on the bottom. Sadly, she can't keep it and pat it away and back to Mars.

Nia is going to take Mars's hand until Mahiro suddenly tugs the edge of her pants and point in a direction. Nia looks in the direction and noticed a passage that the entrance is blocked by hardened ice. "Mars, you probably want to go down here. I find something interesting" Nia told Mars as she gets closer to the ice and it is really hard and no sign of it ever being broken. She tries to fit her body through the crevice but can't - Even with her relatively slim figure, she is still not able to pass the crevice. "Mahiro, use METAL CLAW," Nia asks Mahiro before Mahiro slashes the ice with a metal claw. It manages to scratch the surface but it is not broken. Nia ponders.

"Mars, do you happen to have a fire-type Pokemon with you?" Nia asks her partner trying to think the easy way out first before thinking to a more unconventional method.

"Not really worried there, I am not really used to a hierarchical system. It feels... outdated." Nia commented regarding what he perceived her as being worried about. "Well, I couldn't straightly say that hierarchy system is an obsolete system as it has shown that it works in different many occasion - A stiff yet flexible system. A lot of studies praises this kind of system but from the recent trend of studies - It gradually shifted from an old hierarchy system into an agile development environment" Nia suddenly blabber about the piece of information that she pertains over spending her time reading books back on her library. Then she suddenly went silent for a moment.

"I started talking about books again, didn't I?" Nia asks with full of self-awareness after realizing the off tangent earlier. "What we were talking about earlier? Oh yeah... the fruitcakes!" Nia exclaims remembering what he asked earlier. "Nah, I barely able to cook. I know a lot of recipes though but I can't cook or never actually try it. The fruitcake is made by my mama" Nia answers with a smile, "Mama is a great cook - She loves cooking while hum..." Before she is able to finish her sentence, she suddenly slips not realizing that there is a small slope downward on where she walked.

Nia gently starts the car back to life and drives again - Soon they will be reaching their destination. "Oh yeah, since you are one of the Underbosses in Rocket. Do you know a man called Raphael Pryde personally? I want to know more about him" Nia asks Gavin casually while her eyes are still glued to the road. Humming a tune as her habit while driving start to surface.

Nia chuckles seeing his cute reaction and pretending to roll her eyes, "riiiight" Nia answers purposely displaying a hint of disbelief - Not hiding her intention to tease the man. "What kind of pain in the ass that you are talking about? Is he a scrooge?" Nia asks then got a nudge about a question that he asks earlier. "Ah, yeah... This big fella here. I call her Chigusa, needs a friend to play with. So, we decide to come here with the hope of friending a pokemon" Nia pats Chigusa on her side which she clearly got distracted by something. A melodious tune faintly can be heard from afar and Chigusa carefully approaches it and she suddenly feel drowsy but before she fell asleep - She also SING following the melodious tune creating harmony. An orchestra has been made to the natural echo of the cave. A peculiar colored Smoochum appears as she sings dueting with Chigusa while they get closer to each other and both of them goes to sleep at the same time with each back facing to each other.

"Looks like, Chigusa find a good friend to sing with here. Good for you, Chigusa." Nia pats her head as she murmurs in her sleep while Nia gently captures the Smoochum.

"A gift?" Nia raised an eyebrow looking at her surroundings, a cave filled with rocks and snows, a wild pokemon would appear once in a while like on this occasion where Greyson capture a Sandslash, leaving a Mamoswine with her. Nia calls Chigusa out and lets her unleash CONFUSE RAY making the wild pokemon get confused and run away. "A rather unique place to find a gift, don't you think?" Nia points it out but shrugged, "Well, so be it. Who is the lucky 'friend'?" Nia asks with a smirk, emphasizing the word friend as if she is implying that there is a deeper meaning to it. Surely, Nia doesn't know a lot of him yet on a personal level but she feels like she would encounter him many times in the future and it won't hurt to get to know him better.

"It ain't small, it just that you are extra thick." Nia casually retorts as she follows him from behind. "Just crawl forward and you should see a metallic grate that you can open..." Nia trails off for a moment, realizing something is off. Since they were entering by using Teleport, that means that the grate wasn't supposedly open like how she planned. Nia shrugs and lets the man works it out later once they arrive there. At the very least, her attempt at finding this route didn't become useless.
