"fan-fuckin'-tastic," parker says and her enthusiasm is genuine, downright up to no good. she pokes around the garage and paces a little bit, nodding to herself. it'll be a squeeze, but they'll manage to get whatever she needs in here. and bax'll be here waiting and ready to work on the car with her throughout the night - there's no doubt about that. 

all of this actually coming together really does put some energy in her. 

"sounds peachy. well, take a nap or do whatever the fuck ya wanna for the next few hours. be at the warehouse on third 'round one." she snickers. "and make sure to throw a few good punches at me, eh? gotta put on a show."

greninja is the first to notice tania. a few other people mill about on the pier, readying fishing equipment or licking ice cream cones from the stand on the beach. so parker only turns her attention when her pokemon does. the frog tenses and then shifts, moving his gaze to their targets. 

"that'd be me. tania?" she looks down, gaze flicking up over her shades. a snicker lights up her features and she stretches, twisting against the dock's railing. 

"got a couple jet skis waiting under the docks. looks like they're boutta head out." she juts a chin. "your machoke swim?"

alright, so homegirl's just insane. or maybe she's tripping? parker's been around her fair share of tweakers. but despite her vague responses, parker's leaning towards the former. most everyone has a little bit of crazy in them these days. 

she notices her shiver and parker feels bad keeping her hands to herself, but rather than try to envelop this complete stranger, she just waves a hand. 

"well, uh, that can wait. 'fore ya freeze to death. c'mon. let's get ya dried off."

she tilts her head, smirk rolling on her lips, as nina reads the file. she thinks it's a damn good plan herself, but really if nina had something to bring to the table, she'd at least give her an audience. after all, while nina's green with this neck of the woods, parker can't say she's stolen something like this before. 

nina sets the folder down and parker scrapes it up with a "whoop!" 

there's a polite knock on the door and then sal's withered face pokes in. he smiles when parker gives him a thumbs up and then he opens the door wider, gesturing for the two to follow him. 

"sal's been kind enough to open up his garage 'n let us stash it. gonna keep it here 'til race day." the blue raspberry pop clicks as she shifts it to the other side of her mouth. "how are ya behind the wheel, by the way," she adds as she opens the back door and flicks the lights on in sal's storage garage.

rocket will find a solution. of that, she has no doubt. humans are tenacious little things and there's too much money to be made to let something as ridiculous as a meteor stop rocket from taking its fill. she snubs her nose and takes another swig, polishing off another can. 

millie comes back then, no doubt watching to be there with a fresh can as soon as she sees parker's fingers dimpling her current one. the bruiser hands her the discard and rattles off a complicated burger order, then pushes the menu at jayden, whom she's sure hasn't even given it a glance yet. 

"well, don't keep the nice lady waiting."

after he orders and after she's gone, she smacks her chest and belches. "been good. same ol', same ol'. worked a job with a fuckin' higher-up recently, go figure. job's gotten harder though. gotta admit. with trade shut down, it's been a bitch shakin' down money that ain't there."

parker shows up early sipping on a bigass iced latte, chock full of as much sugar as she can get away with. no better way to beat the summer heat, in her opinion. she gets about halfway through the drink by the time their targets show up. 

a small group of rangers gather at the end of the pier. she lounges, arms up against the wooden rails, shades hiding her casual glances over to the crew that are sending out their water pokemon in preparation to follow the sharpedo as they migrate. 

their teeth are pretty damn valuable and with trade at an all-time low, rocket smugglers are starting to have to look to other investments in trade. it's not her usual job, but hey, she's a lackey. 

she wipes sweat from her brow. the greninja at her side looks down at the water quite hungrily. 

"soon, bud. just gotta wait for our backup to get here."

the woman looks like a drowned glameow and parker feels like she has to cease her shaking or she'll knock her out herself. but after a couple of coughs, the woman gets her bearings and parker raises a brow. she nearly staggers as a wave comes over them, fingers tightening around her, but when she finds her footing (and is sure the woman has too), she releases her. 

"not a good idea? what, ya can't swim?" she says, bewildered.

perhaps going to the beach is a bad idea. her most recent tussle with that damned sea witch has left her with another split lip, swelled nose, and scab on her temple. most of the swelling's gone down now, but the salt water still hurts like a bitch when it greets her face. 

amulius tries not to look as amused as he is when parker comes back up from the water spitting and cursing. she snorts a glob of seawater out from her nose and trudges back up to the beach, muttering about taking a walk instead. 

fuckin' avery blew her off again. 

she tries not to be pissy about it, tries not to think about how frustrating it is to connect with her sister, but at the end of the day it's not fair that she's the one stewing over it after being stood up. 

blue eyes lift and scan the beach, watching happier people with happier lives splash about in the surf. her wandering stops, however, over the body of a silver-haired fox she can't help but admire. and she's about to keep walking (i swear) but the girl in the surf goes rigid. goes not right. 

parker hesitates and then ambles closer to the waves, about to call out and make sure she's cool, but then they lock eyes and she yelps. 

uh, okay. 

she makes a face and then plunges into the surf, coming up only a short distance away from the spool of silver hair in the water. strong arms grip illeana and drag her up to the surface.

"yo. hey. hey, you good?"

parker twists a chair around and plops into it, arms crossed over the top. she drops her chin down on her arms and then lazily points to the folder, flicking it open with a skimmed finger. 

"'cause while you were grabbin' sal's cut, i was makin' a big fuckin' deal 'bout stealing it. it's a hot commodity, y'know, but most o' these fuckers are scared to do anythin' about it. but i steal it? i get a real big target on my head."

she grins, stretching a still-healing split lip. "snatch it out from under me? li'l miss nobody? they ain't gonna know where to look." she nods and then shrugs her shoulders. 

"less ya got a better idea, partner. i'm all ears."

seems nina's not as keen on the job as parker is. ah, well. they're stuck with each other for now anyway. she lopes after nina and ducks into the room with her, closing the door behind her with her hip. the vulpix looks around curiously, but it's probably not as interesting in here as it is out there with the smells of caramel and candy. 

parker goes to a filing cabinet in the corner of the room. a slip of paper, stained yellow with age and thumbprints, scrawled with the number six, labels the middle drawer. parker opens it and grabs a folder from it. 

she tosses it onto the table in front of nina. "mkay, so here's the plan. i'm gonna steal the engine and then you're gonna steal it from me. howzat sound?"

it's her job to notice inconsistencies. gotta known when and where to apply pressure and all that. so as soon as davina stiffens, parker releases her, puts that elbow up on the table and leans over it, closer to her. 

the implication there is a double-edged sword. dee'd be fine. and that's enough for parker. but doesn't seem like it's an option for the gal. parker's gotta commend her for it, but there are no heroes in this line of work. 

"it's not up to me, babes. you know that." she clicks her tongue. looks past her to see gideon slipping his slimy ass into the bathroom. parker coils, about to stand, but relents.

"look, say i give 'em the cash short, tell 'em gideon's tryna cut a new deal. less security. odds are they buy it 'cause he's a twit. and if they tell me to come back and finish the job..." she shrugs, finishes the rest of her drink, "least ya tried."
