[break][break] Formerly a renowned explorer, zoologist, and cryptozoologist, the near-loss of her children eleven years ago sent Yvette into a spiral of grief that ultimately led to her retirement from field work. She went through a period of isolation, unable to face her family after the incident that briefly took Xander's life. She eventually found her passion again after taking up a few different lecture opportunities and discovering a talent for teaching in the process, a career she would throw herself into with the same zealousness she'd previously had for exploration. [break][break] The transition to Hoenn hasn't been easy, as she's transferring schools right before the winter break, so she's arriving to the region a little behind her husband. During the school week she can typically found at the Trainers' School in Rustboro or on the Belmont family's ranch just outside of Petalburg, where the majority of the Pokémon she's collected for research currently reside. Weekends and breaks find her joining her husband's research on the other side of the region in Mossdeep, and maybe even rekindling a little of that old lust for adventure.
