“Yeah, I think you’re right,” he said, scrunching his nose and coloring slightly at the touch.

He felt that was putting it lightly. If he’d stayed in Galar, he’d probably be dead-- by Necrozma’s effort or his own.

“I won’t listen to them, I promise.” He reached out and took Alex’s hands, grounding himself, feeling lighter than before.

He made a face. “They’re just… stringy and gross and not a texture I vibe with. Much to the chagrin of my mother.” He had war flashbacks to huge trays of summer squash baking in the oven and little Memo exiled outside for the whole day because the scent made him want to vomit.

“Baby, it’s just a pumpkin,” he reminded him, Sharpie squeaking on the pumpkin skin as he drew a line. “I can get a new one. I just want you to be extra careful so you don’t cut yourself.”

He made an egregious face. “Of course I take pictures of my Pokemon. But I’m not Picasso. If I tried to draw Sibella’s face on this bad bitch from a real life picture it would look horrendous.”

Guillermo was literally dying but it was okay, no one seemed to care, especially not his boyfriend who up until this point he’d thought loved him.

So he does the normal thing and buries his whimper in Alex’s scarf because he’d wanted to be the one to undress him.

Now that he thought about it, he hadn’t seen anyone with Alex’s eye color except for Alex. It was one of his favorite things about his boyfriend, along with, you know, everything.

“You’d look cute in glasses,” Memo said, wrenching through a particularly nasty snag. It was a slog but it was slowly starting to come together, his textured hair popping and springing up in all directions.

He winced into the mirror. “Gah. I look like a clown.”

So first Will had gone running off and then Cora and now Alex. Memo opened his mouth to yell and then thought better, just shaking his head and going, “Oh, my god,” under his breath before breaking into a run.

He pushed through a thicket of trees and smacked straight into a hovering Solrock which, for a normal person, was only chest height but on Memo was full-on ‘ram your face into this’ height. It summarily knocked him flat on his back and pushed the wind from his lungs.

The rock peered down at him long enough for him to stiffly work a Pokeball out and zap it.

Alex was on his own in a field full of ghosts, for a moment.

Memo was relieved this sudden desire to switch roles came from a place of fairness and not an unhappiness with his performance.

“Well, I thought that was what you liked?" he says, relaxing a bit. He laughs a little, quiet under the hum of the AC.

“No, I haven’t, but it… it doesn’t work that way, honey. I would never get tired of making you happy.”

And he kissed him, just to prove it.
