THE BRIEFING


AS SUMMER ENDS AND FALL BEGINS, many people believe that the veil between worlds grows thin and the dead cross over to the land of the living for a visit. As a result, there are many customs to placate the dead: cemeteries are cleaned, feasts are laid out, sacrifices are burned, and prayers are said. These actions ensure that the souls of the deceased do not bring ill fortune to their living relatives and, instead, are happy to return to the afterlife at festivities' end.

For this mission, remember and honor the dead in some way, whether they are relatives of your characters or not. Alternatively, do something to appease the spirits of the dead so that they leave you alone and return to the afterlife whence they came.
