…It really was refreshing to be able to walk around in a nature oriented place, even if the landscape was ultimately manmade for the most part. Borderline overbearing musk of the swampier areas aside, it really was pleasant to walk through and examine the nearby fauna, regardless of whether they were animate or otherwise in the form of plants and the like.[break][break]

And speaking of pleasant fauna, he spotted a smaller little thing waddling across the clearing.[break][break]

He eyed it for a little while before shifting his gaze towards a nearby tree; a sense of recognition surfacing within his mind as he noted the berries growing upon it. After a moment of thought, he gave a hum while approaching and reaching up towards the branches, picking a couple of Oran Berries off and carefully approaching the Happiny.[break][break]

He lowered himself into a crouch once he ventured close enough, returning the gaze it gave him while offering the aforementioned berries.[break][break]

”Hey, there~,” he spoke softly, smiling. You hungry?”[break][break]

He felt a shiver run down his spine for some reason.[break][break]

Instinctively, he furrowed his brows and pressed his lips somewhat flatly against one another; an idle glance being spared towards his own, beloved little skull as he still seemed engaged within his own conversations with his fellow ghost. Soon after, he’d shifted his attention in favor of giving his surroundings a cursory glance in attempt to catch sight of whatever gave him such a sudden feeling of dread.[break][break]

Needless to say, he hadn’t exactly noticed the golden creature, and rather than bothering to extend his search, he gave a soft sigh while easing the tension within his knees and lowering himself upon the grasses near him. Checking over his shoulder to ensure that he hadn’t sat himself too close to a grave (and even then, he shifted himself a bit further away as nagging superstitions prodded at him to do so), he gave a soft sigh while crossing his legs and resting his elbows onto his knees while waiting.[break][break]

”...God… I’m definitely gonna get a fuckin’ nightmare tonight…” he murmured to himself, exasperated.[break][break]

With another, deeper inhale, he pushed himself from the ground before long could pass; hues of scarlet and gold, alike, surveying the area all the while. By the time he stood properly and stably upon his feet (and as he gently began to reluctantly air his shirt out with a soft scrunch of the nose, feeling the fabric fight to cling against his skin), he peered around while beginning to walk along the area in exploration and observation, alike.[break][break]

He gave the heart shaped creature a glance in passing, and even a wave and a smile as it seemed to make a quivering gesture and cry at him— but otherwise he continued on his way.[break][break]

Before long, his steps slowed within the stride they carried him within; the rustle of a particular capsule upon his belt garnering attention as the force it grew more and more prominent. A soft hum escaped his lips as he eventually brought himself to a stop, slipping a finger between the containment and its latch in order to allow it to drop.[break][break]

He watched as the floating skull that erupted from it rustled vibrantly for a moment or two before immediately floating off to meet with another, fellow specter as it glided across the clearing.[break][break]

’Ah. He wanted to mingle… he thought to himself, smiling softly and idly to himself as he watched the two interact in the distance. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he shifted his weight onto one of his feet with a hum. ...I guess it wouldn’t be any harm to stay a bit longer.[break][break]

”Goddammit, I literally just washed this…”[break][break]

It was a sigh of a remark that escaped his lips softly as he examined his shirt for a short while, only pausing and straying his gaze from the oozing trail left along the fabric to gaze at the culprit, herself. Seemingly intent with sliding her way onto his shoulder, the trainer merely pressed his lips flatly and softly while eying her and maintaining gazes for a smaller while.[break][break]

He sighed a second time, patting her head while beginning to sit up.[break][break]

Pulling a knee closer to his chest, he hummed lowly while resting his elbow upon it within an idle manner, leaning faintly onto it as he gazed around. Before long, he found himself trailing a gaze in tandem to a certain, mewling creature as it shuffled across the clearing. A soft smile tugged upon his lips at the sight (there had been a certain woman he thought of upon seeing it), after after some, few moments of thought, he reached over for one of the capsules he’d been given before tossing it as it walked along.[break][break]

Regular visits aside, there had always been a sort of unease he felt whenever he was in the area.[break][break]

The knowledge of his companions being no more than a toss away had always offered some form of reprise within both mind and soul, alike— but as he stood there before an unnamed and unmarked pillar (a monument, he quickly learned, that had been implemented in favor of offering respects to those not present within the premises, or perhaps otherwise unavailable), there had been a lingering sense of…dread? Disdain?[break][break]

…General discomfort.[break][break]

It dwindled within the back of his mind, just as it always did. Whether it was due to the natural feeling of vigilance that he often harbored in such areas, or whether it was due to other, more personal matters was something that he truthfully hadn’t been sure of at the time. He merely eyed the aforementioned monument with a distant, vaguely pensive expression upon his face for a while longer before closing his eyes and breathing a sigh.[break][break]

He turned soon after, beginning to descent down the path from whence he came.

He always intended to do whatever he did with tact and class.[break]
He wasn’t able to get that as a certain, beloved little hound of his came by and just…tripped him.[break][break]

The impact could’ve definitely been worse (he’d already experienced worse in the past, with how his Pokemon always were), but even then, he hit the floor beneath him with a soft, idling wheeze as the bark of his assaulter met his ears. With a huff of a cough, and another, groaning wheeze, he slowly rolled over onto his back; his eyes gazed through the nearby surroundings before meeting with the very eyes of the pooch who bested him.[break][break]

”Yeaaaah… Thanks for that, buddy…” he groaned pressing his lips into a flat smile, all while trailing his attention after the hound as he gave a second bark and ran off to begin exploring. Inhaling deeply, he held the breath within his chest for a few moments before slowly beginning to prop himself onto his arms.[break][break]

He paused as another one of his Pokemon decided to come over— though not without slowly slicking her way onto his stomach.[break][break]
He sighed as she turned to stare at him, doing his best to ignore the ooze that she was so graciously dripping onto his shirt.[break][break]

”...Thanks for the moral support, Nawa,” he hummed, exasperatedly, while gently patting the top of her head.
