With Darumaka added to her party, Abigail keeps on the search for a new Pokemon. And low and behold, it’s a Chingling! She really doesn’t see much use to own one, and so, she leaves it be and goes onto the next Pokemon.[break][break]

If it’s one thing she loved about Hoenn, it’s that they knew how to throw a festival. Lilycove is especially vibrant at night. Festival lights are strung around the port city, with countless bustling crowds passing through. Seems like everyone is celebrating the New Year many were worried would never come. For once, she agrees with the sentiment. [break][break]
Step by step her hori sandals clack against the stone ground as she nervously walks forward. It’s not like her to go the traditional route usually, but seeing how beautiful the kimonos on display were, well— she couldn’t resist. [break][break]
Red and gold were perfect colors to signify the new year. She’s dipped head-to-toe in it. Even her hair is all nice and dolled up. But of course- nothing ever seems to go smoothly for her lately.[break][break]
“No! Po! Get back here!”[break][break]
Abigail hisses as she chases the trotting Pancham through dozens of people. Now, she regrets not bringing proper shoes. Even heels were easier than this![break][break]
After what felt like a mile long chase, their game of cat and mouse ends up in the food stall area. Quickly, she scoops up the Pokemon into her arms, accidentally bumping into someone in the process. [break][break]
“Ah.. I’m so sorry, he got away from me-”[break][break]
She blinks.[break][break]
It can never go well, can it?[break][break]

A part of her is angered that he’s just letting her go. Not that it would’ve fixed all of their problems, but really, it only solidifies the little worth she has in her head. [break][break]
Call her selfish, but she still wants him. When she falls, she falls hard. Sadly, it just isn’t working anymore.[break][break]

On the other hand Abigail has repressed memories of Unova, minus the interactions she had with her adoptive father. Before then, everything was a blur. Her family life wasn’t perfect, but she cherished the bonds she had, especially with her older brother.[break][break]
She smiles over at her new friend. Maybe this New Year won’t be so terrible after all. [break][break]
“Well, lucky for you I never go anywhere without my business card.”[break][break]
She had managed to print a few dozen when she visited a print shop earlier last year. They’re cute and ornate, yet professional. Which contrasts her usual fashion sense of sleek, fashionable clothes. Might as well be a stunner and a small business owner. [break][break]
“I also have experience with grooming Arcanine. So I’m sure I could win him over with time. Usually, I like to do a pre-appointment to meet the Pokemon so they’re comfortable with me before I work on them. Ah. That one's free of course, though.”[break][break]

Thankfully Abigail has nerves of steel not to get agitated at his casual ‘married to his desk’ remark. Fresh wounds hate salt, after all. She keeps the flow of the conversation going, showing interest in the stranger before her.[break][break]
“Unova Summers are always something to write home about. There’s always lots to do. And Kanto? How beautiful. There’s always an unspoken charm about the countryside i’ve always adored.”[break][break]

Abigail isn’t the type to blame herself. Or take blame at all, really. Though she’s found herself rather empathetic and guilty over the break-up that occurred. But, she had needs and wants, and as someone who neglected them for half her life, she refuses to live that way any longer. [break][break]

As the two converse she orders another drink, this time with a bit less ice to get that flavor she’s craving. Maybe she’ll get a little snack too. [break][break]
“I’ve been in Hoenn for almost a year now? I’m originally from Unova. I came here to try and start up my own small business alongside my day job.. A lot has happened, though. But luckily, with the threat of the fate of the world no longer looming over us- I'm getting back on track.”
