Meeting new clients was always a thrill. Meeting them in a new restaurant with excellent seafood? All the better.[break][break]

Rita leaned back in her chair, examining the lunch menu in front of her as she waited for virgil roach to arrive. This place offered a fantastic view of Slateport Beach, and the weather was nice enough that Rita could snag a table outside on the rooftop.[break][break]

Seated by her on the floor was a leather portfolio of documents, the binder elegantly styled like a handbag for ease of carrying. She'd whip that out when things got a little more technical. Discussions about potential flooding issues, size capacity, yadda yadda yadda, all that good stuff.[break][break]

Was never all that fun to open with talking shop, though. Clients were always more interesting than their requests, and frankly, Roach's request was already interesting to start. A new nightclub in Slateport? Rita grinned at the idea, glancing at the vista of sands, sea, and sleek, modern architecture that unfolded before her. Sign me up.[break][break]

"Margarita on the rocks," she ordered with a wink as the waiter drew near, only for her to see the silhouette arriving behind him. "Ah, you must be Mr. Virgil Roach!" Man, Hoenn was a riot. Everywhere you looked there was another new disaster rearing its head, like some kind of bizarre, modern-day hydra. And now, wolves were prowling some poor little sleepy town at night? Life is stranger than fiction, I guess, Rita thought with a shrug as she rode through the empty streets of Oldale on her sleek, shiny motorbike.[break][break]

Not her favorite baby, not by a long shot (that title was reserved for her convertibles), but the cruiser was one of her favorites nonetheless. Good speed, not too bad to handle, and easy to hop on and off for quick tasks like this one. Rita revved the engine and smiled to herself as the noise attracted the territorial Mightyena to her, like moths to flame.[break][break]

They'd have to round them up one way or another, her and her partner for today, so why not bring the party to him?[break][break]

"Sorry I'm late," Rita called, braking to a stop before she disembarked. She pulled off her helmet and shook out her long brunette hair, grinning as she jerked a thumb to the wolves following her in hot pursuit. "Brought some company. Thought I'd make a party out of it."[break][break]

Breaking shit is easy. Rebuilding shit? That's hard as hell, but that's what keeps people like Rita Garnet in demand.[break][break]

Black City in Unova was always falling apart, but engineers like Rita's father worked to build it back up. Everything needs a solid foundation to thrive, so Rita taught herself how to set the stage for success, brick by brick.[break][break]

Architect degrees, check. Kissing the right asses at the right internships, check. Getting to know the business inside-and-out, check. Rita knocked it all off her list and got to work at one of the biggest corporations out there in her field: Vanguard. First known as Vanguard Engineering, but after absorbing several other firms, the name got long, as company names tended to do. What a mouthful it was to say Vanguard: Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Operations Management. You could just say VAECOM, for short. [break][break]

Frankly, it was secure work. Business was booming in the wake of all the demolition caused by Rocket, severe weather conditions, and Pokemon invasions.[break][break]

C-suite executives blew a sure thing, of course. Overpromised, underdelivered, made countless poor financial decisions and invited needless lawsuits. When shit hit the fan, the powerful men scattered and a woman was put at the wheel to stop the firm from driving off of a cliff: Rita Garnet, giving her a chance to shine like a diamond by inheriting the greatest pressure cooker the company had ever known.[break][break]

Not that she was a complainer. Rebuilding shit was, after all, what Rita did best.[break][break]

Her success in Unova brought her to Hoenn, where the dire need for people of her skillset was well-documented. Distortions? Aggressive Legendary Pokemon? Rocket infiltration? It screamed of a challenge, and Rita's hands were suddenly far too idle.[break][break]

When not working, she can be seen jogging at the break of dawn every morning outside her home in Mauville Hills, driving luxury cars with the top down, kickboxing with her Blaziken, or enjoying the simple pleasure of good conversation with interesting people.
