At the sight of the Qwilfish bobbing in the water, Xiura Balfaltin readied a Pokeball in her hand for capture. At the same time, she released one of her Pokemon to attack.

With a chiming cry of aggression, Hatterene let loose a CONFUSION attack at the poisonous wild Pokemon. The purple blast of energy cut toward the Qwilfish with sharp precision, causing it to swim in aimless, meandering circles.

Xiura threw her empty Pokeball, hoping for an easy capture.

Xiura Balfaltin arrived a little late to the painting event, having had to close up shop after a rather unfortunate spill of taro milk tea. Taro stains could really set in if left unattended.

Many of the seats were taken, but she spotted an open one, luckily. She settled next to Elinor Anderson and flashed her neighbor a smile.

She organized the pre-prepared painting supplies, squeezing paint onto the small palette. She didn't have much experience with other painting techniques besides the traditional style in Ecruteak, which employed a minimalist aesthetic with ink wash paintings.

She dipped her brush in the acrylic paint, testing the thickness before trying to dilute it with some water from the brush-cleaning cup. As she prepared her paints, she turned to Elinor Anderson, meaning to strike up a conversation.

"Hello! It's nice to meet you; I'm Xiura." She held out her right hand to shake. Then her gaze wandered over to the sketch on the easel, and she exclaimed, "Oh! That looks amazing already. It's so intricate in detail!"

The day was dreary morning grey overhead, frail clouds wisping gradually along with the air currents. A young woman with dark purple hair pushed onward along the trail, a pack with hiking essentials and extra Pokeballs strapped securely to her back. She took a moment to wipe her brow, turning back to see how far she had come.

Xiura Balfaltin was in search of more Pokemon to add to her team. She was hoping for good fortune today, but if not, thankfully her Gardevoir would be able to get her home.

Xiura rode quietly in the car with Zev Harcourt, mind occupied with the previous mission they had last been on. It had been a few weeks, but seeing him had brought the memory to mind as freshly as though it had occurred the day before. The sight of a stranger bleeding out in between them was a scene rather difficult to compartmentalize.

Looking out the window at the twilight scenery left her mind with too much freedom. She wished she had brought a book instead. She glanced guiltily at the driver, mentally apologizing for not being such an avid conversationalist during the ride over.

Before she could dwell on it too long, the Rocket duo arrived at their intended destination.

Zev said, "Let's get this over with." She nodded at him.

"Come out, Jin," Xiura said, tapping one of her Pokeballs, prompting a small Sableye to come out. He was a new addition to the team, but she thought he would prove helpful against the other ghosts in the cabin.

Sableye crept eerily around her footsteps as she approached the front door of the cabin. Without hesitation, she grasped the door handle and opened it with an ominous, drawn-out creak. "Oh, it's cold," she noted aloud with mild surprise, letting go of the icy handle and wiping her hands on her leggings. From what she could see in the dark foyer, frost crept along the floor boards, disappearing into the darkness.

She stepped across the threshold, her Sableye's gem-like eyes glowing with curiosity. A spine-chilling sound like a woman wailing in grief greeted them from deeper within the house.

"It seems like a Frosslass lives here, though probably not alone," Xiura said quietly to Zev.

As the Luxio ran off to chase the rogue Psyduck, Xiura's jaw dropped at the easy way @marshall had improved on the original composition of her first photos. The lighting wasn't too bright, and the photo's composition, as Marshall put it, was great. His explanation logically sorted out a quantitative way to create a presentable, if not excellent photograph, which Xiura had been so sure was an outcome that required an inherent talent for the craft.

She took back the camera, aiming it at the pond and Wooper family.

Turbine had ensured that the Woopers were undisturbed, and as a result, the blue Pokemon started to filter back into the pond again, bobbing up and down in the water. In the distance, she could still hear the distressed cries of the wild Psyduck.

Concentrating on the photo and carefully aligning a larger rock in the left third of the screen, along with a trio of Woopers backflipping off the rock in the center. Additionally, she was able to capture a stray floating Wooper in the lower right third--ninth?--of the screen, just in the foreground.

She glanced at the screen, considering, then showed Marshall the photo. She asked, "How is this one? Not terrible?"
