She furrows her brow, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "I haven't asked how much it would be though. Maybe I can afford one since my cafe has been seeing a lot of customers this summer."

Xiura cocked her head curiously, interested in the response as @bishop asked more about Nomi's beer. Meanwhile, she let out her fishing line.

Xiura opened her mouth to respond to @bishop's quip about taking the Galarian Meowth, but stopped and held her breath as they heard the back door unlock.

Bishop put a finger to his lips to indicate quiet. Xiura's eyes widened slightly and briefly before she nodded in response. She slowly stood, glancing at her Hatterene with an unspoken command as Bishop and his Obstagoon exited the living room.

Hatterene swayed in the air thoughtfully, then teleported outside the room.

Xiura took a moment to pet Meowth's soft paw through the cage's bars, as though comforting it, or seeking comfort. Meowth blinked, grinning widely at her before dozing off.

Satisfied, Xiura pulled down her knit black hat to hide her distinctive purple hair and pulled up a mask to hide the lower half of her features. She stepped out of the room to join Bishop in the hallway.

Meanwhile, Caleb Harcourt's Zorua was in for an unpleasant surprise as Hatterene suddenly materialized behind him in the mudroom, eyes glowing purple with power. With an ominous, reverberating cry, Hatterene used PSYCHO CUT, a long, curved blade of psychic energy hurtling angrily toward the unwelcome ghost Pokemon.

Xiura pulled out some iced fruit tea to share, a refreshing, mildly sweet lychee infusion with pieces of the fruit and fruit-flavored jelly mingling at the bottom. Pouring some into a cup, she handed it to Naomi Sato. "Here, please have some!" She smiled at her friend, then started pouring tea for @bishop as well, but his sudden cry distracted her.

She took his phone again and snapped a quick photo of his catch, the Magikarp helplessly flopping on the deck beside Bishop's triumphant pose.

"Very nice, Ramsey!" she exclaimed, then handed him a cup of the tea. She laughed at his boasting, admitting, "You just might be the best fisherman at Splashfest. Two huge catches in a row! It's certainly not the choice of pier that's bestowing divine luck on you."

She shook her head at her own rod and record of average catches, then cast her line.

The music of Teravolt's song echoed in Xiura's ears as she looked up into the sky.

Never mind, these are horrid times,
I can't let it bother me.

She had only been in one time distortion before, but it was glaringly evident another was occurring, this time in the concert grounds. As Tam Fawley and Noah Camus sprang into action, she lowered her hand to touch her waist belt, intending to call Hatterene, but @marshall grabbed her hand, and she accidentally brushed against a different Pokeball.

Her Decidueye appeared, immediately attacking an aggressive, oddly wood-like Voltorb that materialized out of thin air. As the clouds swirled overhead and Marshall rushed Naomi and Xiura to safety, Xiura looked back, and thought she saw Decidueye's form waver and shift, but it was hard to tell between the chaos of the crowd and the violence of the attacking wild Pokemon.

As the group broached the exit of the venue, Xiura looked back, calling out for Decidueye. She turned to Noah, saying, "I'm fine, thank you. But I hope Decidueye's okay." She waited beside Naomi Sato, wringing her hands in worry from time to time, her eyes wandering the skies above the concert venue to see if he would appear.

It must have been minutes, but it felt like hours to Xiura before an avian Pokemon flew towards their group, landing at Xiura's side. The bird was bright red in coloration, matching the hue of the shard he dropped off in her hand. "Decidueye?" she said, touching his strange new crest of feathers.
