Niky couldn't help but laugh at the man. Of course Sol and him weren't going to look a like! The guy was just being cute in his blue-green eyes. The additional explanation of happily being into women, being non-judgemental, and wanting to leave his Pokemon his inheretence did fill in some blanks. "Sounds like you need a lawyer to help out with that. Good luck with that though."

After the battle, both Niky and Sol bowed at the applause. Soon after getting out of there, they found a Phantump and...a...fat pig Pokemon? He didn't recognize it...maybe he could do some research on it after capturing it. Oz whispered to him though. "I'm sure that's not the only way Phantump exists. Besides, do you see any holes where a tree stump should be? How much you want to bet that one migrated here because of their past. It's that other one I'm interested in though, never seen one before. Sol?" The bug hopped down and started with an Ember attack, catching the rooting piggy off guard.

The odd Pokemon then charged with Take Down, with Sol matching with Flame Charge. Sol got the worse part of that exchange, but recovered quickly with String Shot to swing right back at it, firing Ember all the way. Once it latched onto the Piggy, Sol just started to Bug Bite it down. Even with Disarming Voice, the piggy didn't dislodge his bug, and she brought it down enough. Taking out a Pokeball, Niky threw it to catch what he would later find out was a Lechonk.

Really?! No way at all? They could stop a meteor, deal with so many crazy antics, but not stop or derail a distortion? Where was his tax dollars going? And they can happen anywhere and anytime...why did that sound kind of sleazy? Anyways, Josh wasn't opposed to investigating the aftermath a bit more. Alpha Pokemon was what often inhabited them, unusually large Pokemon of their respective species. Josh wouldn't be surprised if a couple of his own were alphas, including the large Ninetales that was close to Niky. The blond simply raised his arm at it to let it sniff his hand, palm down. "Huh. Give you guys Team Rocket, Meteors, Legendary Pokemon going apeshit, but of all things you can't, it's time distortions. Who knew. Sure, my haul was fruitful this morning."

After cooking and eating, off they went, albeit slowly. Tracks seemed to make the packs go all over the place, likely just trying to find a new home, or retreating to a different place. Once there, it did look like a warzone. But beyond a time space distortion...what could have kept them from coming back? A couple of roars sounded deeper in the den. Fabia was out and at the ready for a fight. And out of the den came three Pokemon, much larger than other species of them. A Garchomp, Gabite, and a Gible. Fabia hopped off of Niky's shoulder, and hit all three of them with Icy Wind. Gabite reacted with a Bulldoze attack towards her, and Gible used Dragon Breath on whoever was closest. Garchomp stayed back though...the true Alpha of the three...

Sadly, he didn't have too much of a chance to start something with the nervous wreck. With the exihits starting, he too started to move. Albiet slowly...Niky did have a bad leg. Though when he did look back, he found that the man (nagi miwa) had vanished! Oh well. Lets see what all the commotion is all about. The first one the blonde looked at was the Meteno Shard. All the hard work that the rangers and League officials did to stop the end of the world paid off. Which certainly pissed off some of his customers due to the fact that they had refused to pay up for Niky's services. Now they had to or face criminal charges. HA! Showed them right!

The next one that the musician saw as the crown of King Geralt IV. Niky had no real opinion of Galar aside being obsessed with Pokemon battles. Though his concerts did well enough there when he toured it. It was still a bit over the top. And a lot of Applin being tossed at him with adoration. Poor pokemon...being used a symbol of one's "love" for someone. Sweet...but it's also a Pokemon...leave them be! The last exibit he found was the Nautica Exhibit. He could never be a treasure hunter, especially right now. Still, the prospect of finding treasure still had its appeal. Good on them for not being greedy and show off what they found. Some things just belonged in a museum...

The question made Niky tilt his head cutely. Space-time distortion? Was he serious? "Is that not just a sci-fi trope?" It was obvious that he wasn't even aware of the distortions as of late. He had been to focused on just running the store and living to really notice. Then Josh would hopefully educate him. Including how to stop them and/or destroy them. Then, if they could fix up the dens...

"I'll leave Sol and Gojira here, and take the rest with me. Optimus may be weak to ground attacks, but knows Magnet Rise. We might still get a good haul, though I would imagine leaving some for the packs might help them view us differently. This could cause much more serious issues down the road if we leave the distortion alone..." Best do what's possible to end it and put things to right. For not just the Pokemon's sake either...

Niky nodded. It was a little late to go see what was going on with that. Waking up the next day, he stretched as Josh told him morning. Sleepily, he nodded at him, and picked up his hairband and put his hair in his small ponytail. He listened to Josh. "Right. I'll keep Fabia and Sol here to keep the camp safe for now. We should try to find out where they're coming from for now. If you think we have enough berries, go focus on finding where they're coming from. I'll see if my fishing is better today. Meet again at noon-ish? Then I can walk around in that direction to see what I can find from the ground? It may lead to some lighter eating today, but tomorrow we can get a good meal and then confront them maybe?" And ask why they're out in daylight.

After a light breakfast, Niky was out fishing. This time was much better. Two Basculin, one of each stripe, a trio of Barraskewda, and a Krabby. He also managed to find a couple of Slowpoke tails on the side. Well, this could be a good feast. Bringing his catch in, he waited to see if Josh had any luck in finding out where they're coming from. Once he got back, something did occur to him. "Icy Wind can still be used to extend freshness. Just not as good as literal ice. Some ingenuity could keep a section cold enough that it could work..." Leaves? Maybe even a shirt or two, but rocks as well. Gojira's Stone Edge was used again to make the frame of the ad-hoc fridge. Niky, Optimus, and Polygon left to gather branches and leaves, coming back about an hour later with hopefully enough to insulate the fridge. Fabia then did her thing. For a really long time.

While that happened, Niky saw that Josh had come back. "Any luck?"

Once Niky was done with part one of their concert, and others were doing their part, he again separated from the others. In search of that one young man that actually seemed like was in his league. The blonde looked around, but couldn't find him in the first area. Was he still at the bar? Niky shuffles through to it. And while he didn't find the data entry dude he was hoping to get a dance with, he did find another sweety sweating in his suit.

Sauntering on over to the guy (nagi miwa). "Well, don't you look out of place. If mildly adorable. You need someone to talk to while you get your bearings?" Did he just like nervious looking guys in such a setting? Maybe it's because they all seem like they were more normal or at least not rich as snot...but clearly had enough connections to be invited. But not out of touch. So why not try them on?

It seemed the woman was there for much the same. Trying to instill some discpline into the Chimchar. She had a good point. He chuckled a bit at the sheepish admission. "My Larvesta was a bit of a troublemaker herself. She's straightened out, but still quite fiesty. She's my security at the store." And had no qualms burning shoplifters. He may have had to be warned about that before. She finally introduced herself. "I'm Niky Racz." It wasn't long before they got another round of Pokemon. A Marill...and...what was that? Blinking at the rocky crab-like Pokemon, Niky pointed at it for Optimus to take on.

The Metang charged forward and moved infront of the crab Pokemon. The eyeballs glared as its claws glowed white with Metal Claw. Optimus charged foward with a glowing arm with Meteor Mash. While the Pokemon did pass each other, they did hit each other. Obviously, with Optimus being a Steel-type itself, Metal Claw wasn't going to do anything. The crab Pokemon fell over, and Niky threw a Pokeball at it, hopefully catching it.

Niky put the other mushrooms aside, to see if any could be used for bait. The hunt did become fruitfull though, and with his Basculin, should be good. Josh did float the idea of hunting down the leaders of the packs. "Fabia knows Icy Wind, but that's not enough to freeze and preserve. Haven't gotten time to teach her Ice Beam yet. We might be good on food for awhile if successful, but lets not forget that those two packs are normally nocturnal Pokemon. Or cave dwellers. Don't you think something might have disturbed them a bit? Beyond just us maybe being in their territory?" He was mildly surprised that the ranger didn't think about that first.

Well, either way, he would have Gojira set up a wall around their camp with Stone Edge, with a single opening. Fabia and Sol were both going to stay. "Might not be a bad idea to keep one of yours around either, so long as they have a ranged attack." That way, the injured Fabia wouldn't be so pressured. Luckily, Sol and Optimus had managed to complete both Josh's and Niky's beds. At least they were off the ground some. After some serious talk, it was Niky's turn for a little share and tell. "I was once an idol. Then I took a car to the knee..." And fell into a depression, helped only by supportive family, a hobby in collecting rare Pokemon, and a side of therapy. He might have admitted that the partners were somewhat rigged, so the two of them would be partnered up because his family, who was among the sponsors of this little shin-dig, were worry worts because of his bad knee.

Then it was sleepy time...

Niky chuckled at the fish out of water. "Aw, buddy, if you're more than forty, you age super well, I can only hope I'll age just as gracefully. Come on handsome..." john nelson obliged the musician to the bar, and they were soon approached by another that knew his escort. While the guy did lean away, Niky knew it wasn't out of rudeness, just to say something in private. The blonde waited politely as he got a glass of Charja-Cola. No alcohol until after their performance. Once they were done with a tiny chat, Niky asked the man some questions. "So sweety, what do you do for a living? I don't get gigs like this very often, but it seemed fun a bit different. I'm one of the orchestra peeps. But I run a modest record shop in Rustboro and do DJ work on the side usually. Oh, and I'm Niky." Was he trying a little bit to get a feel for the guy? Yeah...he was interested in the man. Might as well see if he would bite and maybe oblige the young man.

Sadly, shortly after, the music started. Pouting at the awful timing, Niky spoke again to the man. "Sorry, it seems the music is starting, so I need to get into position. I'll be finding you later for a dance if interested?" He gave the plain looking a guy a hopeful look, before waiting a beat to hear an answer and scurry off to Melody Miro's Christmas song. Such a lovely voice she has...a duet with her would be a dream come true. When it came to their turn, he started off with an unusual choice.

Orchestra version of his Bad Guy song started. After it was done, his Bad Habits in a orchestrae cover went along. And the third one for their first stint was one of Callan Young's rock songs.

"To be fair, Larvesta and their evolved form are kind of rare." They from Unova if he remembered right. And the only reason he knew that was because he actively delved into learning about rare Pokemon after an accident made him quit his Idol proffession. The stranger wasn't a fan of Pokemon battles it seems, and declined his offer. That was fine. Though blonde eyebrows did raise at the mention of returning to his roots or catching a new heir? Was this guy looking for a girlfriend? "I'm male. Even if happily gay. I still can't pop out kids though. Not sure I'd want to at this point of my life yet." Maybe eventually he'd adopt someone with a partner, but only time will tell and he had plenty of time before that.

Only then did a Braviary appeared. And while the man was calming down another Pokemon, Niky took advantage of it. "Sol, go and show that bird what you're made of." The bug nodded and hopped from his shoulder. And fired an Ember at the bird. The Braviary dodged it, and was going into an Aerial Ace. Sol charged with Flame Charge. Even as the attacks collided and forced each back, Sol recovered first, using String Shot to swing above, and unleash another Ember. This time, it hit. The aggressive Pokemon didn't falter though, and moved for Fury Attack. Even while being pelted with Embers, the Braviary was about to start when Sol landed on its face, and used Bug Buzz. This seemed to be enough to land the big bird on the ground, knocked out, but alive. Sol the winner, the Larvesta waved her hands in Victory. With that, Niky walked up, letting Sol crawl back onto his shoulder, and continued on for the next encounter.
