Niky nodded. He at least had support from his family. More than that, they were the ones that hooked him up. The blonde did laugh at the charts. "Yeah, even for me and sis, we struggled. I was only able to do it because of the all the choreography and stuff I had to do. Nowadays, no way in hell. Not with a bum knee and all. I can still dance with the best of them, but not for long." And then he proved it. He went back to his station for a few songs before Shalin pulled up the song. Showing it to him, Niky scrolled his selections. Oh! There it was. After a quick preview, it was at the same speed and everything. Grinning, he nodded. "Two more songs, then I'll play it."

True to his word, Niky warned about the next song. Then joined Shalin on the floor. "I'll follow your lead." As they waited, he tapped his finger on air, listening. And once it started, he went wild, following Shalin's lead. Together, they dominated the floor, him in his sexy Pikachu inspired costume, and she in her Keldeo inspired costume. During the performance, Niky did spot his client tipping him. When it was over, the crowd went wild. Niky was even breathing quite heavily at this point. Sadly, after just a single step, he nearly collapsed, caught only be his Metang. His iron Pokemon gave him his cane as he hobbled back to his equipment and set up. Sitting down, he spoke to her again. "Arceus that was so much fun! Thanks for the fun time. Looks like you got a couple minutes before the contest starts to rest." With a wink, he stayed at his seat and did his job. When it came time for the contest, he looked towards it and watched. Shalin and her Keldeo get up was definitely the best, even with some close second and thirds in his opinion. When the voting began, he did his vote for her. And hopefully she'll win it.

Oh, a similar taste in Pokemon? And nicknames... "Not sure how much trust to put in the League, but I'm not going to complain. Nice to know there's a kindred spirit in Pokemon and nicknames." It was kinda cute...pity she was a girl. Niky didn't know the circumstances about his sis. She didn't do idol work like he did, aside from a select few duets that she insisted on, but that checked out. "Wouldn't surprise me. She never spoke about it. Just because we did a select few duets, didn't mean she divulged that she was interested in that career path. Though she honestly could have succeeded. She has style and a voice." But she was also a rock that helped him all through his depression. He wouldn't trade her for the world. He'd also completely forgotten about Round One. Granted, he never had the opportunity to hit that arcade either. His shows in Mauville had always been quick one-night stoppers. Much to his chagrin.

After expressing her sympathy, he shrugged. "I still made a lot of bank. And even during my depression period, I still released occasional singles that were still popular enough. I still do, in fact. It's been a long road, but I'm still kick'in it." No need to dwell on it too much. Besides, there was some headaches that he was glad he didn't have to do/take anymore. After she did perfect 17s, she took a break. A much needed one. And this time, he laughed whole heartedly. "What, you don't have the stamina for it? Come on, dancer, surely you can do better." Someone heard this.

"Oh yeah, go do Sand Planet, Cripple!"

Oh, it was on. That guy just activated his trap card! Sand Planet originally wasn't even a song, it was just a musical tone that he did and liked. And went with it. It wasn't as refined as his later works, but Niky still wrote and danced to it. After setting it up, he tossed his cane at his Metang, who caught it with ease. Fuck his bum leg, he can still do this! "Just a note, this dance routine works mostly for a stage, witha single viewpoint of an audience. So step aside and face me!" And he went with it. It wasn't a particularly upbeat or tough routine, but it was perfect for the song at hand. And when he was done, he also had a round of applause. Optimus came by with his cane, and he leaned on it the whole way back to a counter and a much needed seat. "So, dancer girl, any particular duel performance you wanna do?" Adrenaline pumping, he wanted to go at it now that he had stepped up onto a stage.

Niky barged into a woman scolding her Chimchar, even as her Hydreigon looked onward. While the Chimchar's antics was what the blonde thought he smelled...the scent was coming from elsewhere. Looking at the woman, he spoke, hopefully not startling her. "I'm going to check that scent out too. I thought it was just your Chimchar's antics, but clearly it's not. Care to join a cripple's walk?" Okay, he may be a bit trusting. With his Metang next to him, off he went towards it. To find a Druddigon and Granbull. He...wasn't impressed. And the signs of battle was obvious...along with the smell of ozone. And soon found why. The Granbull used Thunder Fang. Well, neither one really ruffled Niky's feathers, so he was content in just leaving them be, and continued walking elsewhere.

Soon enough, his vote for the costume contest walked over to him. Before she could tap him with her horn, an Ember flew out from Sol's mouth, past her and into a fire pit. The Larvesta glared at her as she spoke. Still, the blue-green eyed young man smiled. "Thank you. Though...do watch out. I'm pretty attentive, so just walking up gets my attention. Sol over there gets a little fiesty...there's a reason she's security." And said Larvesta had set four people on fire tonight, no need for his favorite to win the costume contest be the fifth victim. At least someone had a water pokemon to put them out too. "Yeah, its surprising how many songs, usually idol or upbeat musicals/electronics get on those. Sis noticed one of her exceptionally few singles got on there too. Still, they were fun. Pity for a tournament like that to happen, you practically have to go to Lilycove or Slateport." Plenty of people in those cities, you were bound to get enough people for those.

She then proclaimed her interest in the costume contest later tonight, and promptly introduced herself. Chuckling, Niky half wondered if she was going to flirt with him...not that it would be very successful, he batted for likely the same team she does. Yep, he assumed her sexuality, sue him. "Niky Racz, the hippest DJ in Rustboro, and likely all of Hoenn. And I also used to be an idol, until I took a car bumper to the knee." Quite litterally. And was bad enough to take multiple surgeries to fix, and even then it wasn't in the greatest of shapes. Especially right now. It used to be that just mentioning the accident would spiral him into an abyss...now he can actually joke and meme it now. How therapy had done him wonders, as well as supporting family members encouraging him to move in and step up. He moved on to one of his sister's singles, Ranker Killer Girl. That also happened to get onto SSR. "Don't hesitate to make a request or to tip me, either. This party is fairly chill, especially compared to some of the others that I have done recently..." The one with seven "Karens" almost made him give the main host a refund and pack up and leave because of them. One of the "Karens" did end up getting booted from the party at least. It was still bad...


Shalin Nariya

With everything going on, Niky figured he'd stay close to home. Especially for as many parties as people were having. And needing a DJ. But it was time to go out and touch some grass! Knee brace on, cane in hand, six pokeballs, with Optimus the Metang out, Niky also kept his blonde hair back in a very smol pony-tail, wore some gym shorts, a yellow backpack, blue open shirt, and a tight fitting black sports shirt that runners often wore, and he was good to go. Route 115 was known for Fairy, Dragon, and Rock type pokemon. Even fossil pokemon were known to make their homes here. There were a select few fairy types that he would be after, but also a good amount of dragons. Even though it wasn't particularly rare, he'd also go for a Noibat or Noivern.

Plus...well, a little bit of training didn't hurt as well. But he also wanted to round out a B team. He only really had Lee the Lucario for it. So far. He also probably should train his babies too some. But all in good time, he supposed. Wondering through the woods, he started to smell...something wierd. It wasn't fire necessarily? He started to head off towards the off smell, to see if it was something he should warn Rangers or other authorities about...

To say that were some interesting costumes would be an understatment. While his was bordering some fine lines between minimalistic, sexy, and cute, others were...a bit more hardcore. One such hardcore party goer was a bit late, but was riding on a Pyroar dressed as a Keldeo, and she a knight. There was a costume contest as well...but he was sure this lady was going to win it. Just as someone tipped him, Niky noticed the lady going at it to Bad Apple. The man spoke to him. "She sure is going at it."

"It's just the SSR dance at expert level for this song. She could add some flair to it, though."

"You know it?"

With a raised hand, tapping to the beat of the female voice, with a deep breath, he started singing to the male voice. While his voice was at least a little bit more masculine than it was back then, there was no mistaking it. He was half of the song. Once that segment was done, he spoke up. "Sis and I might have checked out what it was a few times." Meaning a lot.

"Not going to show her how its done?"

"Nope. Why start something? Besides, I have a bum leg, and these gigs are happening so frequently that its really inflamed. The more I relax it, the better. She does have my vote on the contest though..." That got a laugh out of the guy, who agreed and moved on. He got another song going, I Like it Loud. It certainly fit the mood. Might as well keep it going.

Niky kept it up. The energy around the event started to increase, even the older crowd was starting to jam a little bit even at the younger crowd's music. Slow to upbeat, to classical, even the Tango was played. After a rather nervous request for a Polka song, and a wink from the blue-green eyed young man, he was getting more. Funnily enough, he even got a request for one his songs in Bad Habits. And so he played it. Then came Counting Stars. A little bit of shameless plugging over, he moved on with some of Melody Miro's music. His goal was simple, hype people up and get them ready for the new fashions. Looking towards the backstage area, he saw one of his new compatriots peeking out. With a wink, he turned it up with Bethoven's Virus for a classical switch, then 16 Shots for the younger crowd just to keep'im on their toes.

To say that he was enjoying and getting a kick out of the older crowd taking advantage of his classical choices and other people's requests would be an understatement. Not that the younger crowd wasn't doing much the same. He looked over at one of the supervisors of the event, only to get a nod. Well, okay then, he'll keep it going until the show starts...

It was amazing what the end of the world and Holloween can do to a population. He'd been booked all week! Niky wasn't happy, since he was also working at the record store. Spending an extra four plus hours working was really irritating his bum knee. Thankfully, his new catch in Lee the Lucario had been a tremendous help towards the end of the DJ part of his work. This particular party was another large costume party that had been going since seven pm. With Phantump and Pumpkaboo themed lights everywhere, three grills going, and people constantly getting food and drinks. Including the alcoholic kind, though the blonde did notice that those that were serving it was checking IDs.

So at least there was some responsibility. Not that he minded, since he didn't drink. Often. And definitely not on the job. Dressed in a cute Pikachu themed outfit that gave him the ears, a little makeup gave him the red dots on his cheeks, belt with a Pikachu tail, and yellow pants and shoes. Top? Well...his sister "modified" that so it was a crop top. Not that he cared, but he certainly got a lot of...looks. The "let me take you someplace private" kind. Thankfully Sol the Larvesta was every bit as protective as she was. Unless you came to the former idol to tip him or request a song, the little bug would fire Ember at them. That put a good damper at that crowd. Well, with a bit of relaxation, he saw that one of his songs was next. Well, it was a duet with his sister. Bad Apple...how appropriate for Halloween...


A Little Party Never Killed Nobody mission

After a raised drink, something about meeting husbands, and having too much phsyique for suits and ties, Niky departed from the other two men. The older crowd seemed to have perked up to what he had in store. Some even took to the floor with their others on the first try. Definitely some appreciation as an older couple swung by and tipped him for the classical piece. What a good start. He put the program so that he'd have something more modern next, then maybe some kind of polka music. A good back and forth could help make things predictable and make those that want to join in do so. Sometimes that kind of predictablity can be boring...but it also depended on the setting. He had a gut feeling that this would work better than mixing it up too much.

Still, he tried to gauge reactions. And tried to warn when tunes were changing and what kind. Next one was more younger generation of dancing. The blonde tried to keep an eye on his two compatriots. It was pretty well set now...only thing he really had to be weary of was requests. Not that he could dance for very long with his knee. Annoying as it was at this point. And so he just kept it up, going back and forth for now...

Niky was the picky kind of trainer. Not a type specialist though, he was something of a rare collector. Landing, he could feel a couple of Pokemon having laid eyes on him. Turning, he saw a common Sentret and a Jumpluff. Again, nothing that really interested him. Finding rare Pokemon weren't going to be easy. Although he did have a few softs spots for some common ones. But only for some specific ones. He did see that the lady was trying to catch up. Was she that much out of her depth that she needed someone to help her out or something? Well, either way, he wasn't heartless, so he'd wait for hers.

Niky's lips turned into a very slight grin. Oh...from people ripping them off of him? He wanted to say that out loud, but Pluto mentioning a husband kept him quiet. Well...that was a shame...an already taken man. Oh well. The mostly shirtless man laughed at the other's question before all this, and asked Niky a question. Shaking his head, Niky pointed to his shirt where it said DJ on it. "'Fraid not. I'm just the hired help. Although I do know what's on the agenda. A speech, a small show off of coming styles for fall and winter, and then song and dance. More dance than song. Client wanted to keep it more modern, so I tried. I might have still snuck in a few classical pieces for the older generation, but that's the jist of it. Supposed to go until midnight assuming no hangups or delays."

Sneaking a look towards the front, it looked like the speech was about to begin. "It looks like it's about to begin, so I better head back to my station. Feel free to chat me up later though. Including you, hot stuff..." Niky winked at Symon and trotted off to where his Lucario, Larvesta, Larvitar, Metang, and Bagon were. The speech started with a rousing flare to try to encourage and lift spirits of all those that attended. Then a small run showing off the upcoming clothing designs to some pump'in music. Then a general flare of enjoying the rest of the evening with dancing and deserts. With the floor being handed to him, Niky took out a microphone with a twirl, toss, and catch for some flare. "DJ Niky Racz here, I got mostly modern dance music for the younger and trendy crowd, but I also got some classical, polka, and more for the older audiences. I'll be mixing it up a lot, but if you got requests, please let me know, and don't let Sol intimidate you, she's just here for security. Let's roll!" As if to emphasize his point about music for all the audiences, he started with a classical drum for the older folk to slow dance to...

It sounded like the woman was about to apologize when the Pokemon appeared. And she took a liking to the Roserade. Niky just shooed away the Herdier. He was about to leave once again when a Dodrio rushed passed him. Joy. More than that, a Floette Also showed up. Grabbing the tail of his oddly colored Porygon-Z. "Magnet Rise." With a short burst of electrical energy, the normal-type floated up into the sky. And floated away for the moment he went, moving well away from the commotion. It just seeemed safe to do this instead of trying to escape by foot. Especially with his bum knee...even if he could do short sprints/dance routines before getting a lot of pain. After landing, he continued to try to find something that he liked.
