Not being used to it was the correct approximation. With a laugh, the redhead rubs her neck. Which a chuckle, she remarks back. "Hahaha. Yeah, no kidding." She leans back, stretching her arms up and into the air.[break][break]

And then... she watches Shalin let it loose. A serious demeanor, that led to the wildest movement of the lower body she'd ever seen. The redhead stared with a jaw dropped down, as she nods. "Whoa..." But even so much as a ninety-four percent could do little to pass, it failed. And with it, in that cruelty, she stares on with a tremendous amount of respect.[break][break]

A hand on Shalin's back, she pats her. "Did way better than I could, Shalin. I'm just not made for these kinda games!"[break][break]

She points over towards a little bar area, where they'd serve food. "Let's go eat!"

The troubador speaks, and in kindness to her, she returns it back by taking a moment to listen to their words. The Nameless One's lips curve up to smile. The bard wishes to listen to a story from her?[break][break]

She ponders, a hand to her chin, a brief respite as she thinks. The images of the Lord of the Sea plagues her mind like a storm, and the vision of the Martyr sits patiently in her mind, wishing to push her over that edge. But in this moment, she decides to remove herself from the conflict, and go back to the reason why she was here. She nods to confirm to the bard, no worry of any knife in the dark. Honest, and from the heart.[break][break]

"My parents were great defenders of justice. They're what you call Rangers. They protect the world. My mom is this strong person, who I looked up to when I was just a little girl. Every day that went by, I wanted to be just like her. I said as much. My dad was too, this sweet and gentle man, built like a truck and never saying no, never surrendering."[break][break]

The core memories to the Nameless One drive her being. It's fine to let this bard know. He wants a story, she'll give it.[break][break]

"One day, my friend went missing. I'm nine years old, and my parents aren't home. She had to be somewhere, so I raced out to find her. I grabbed my mom's Ranger jacket, and went into a cave away from home. I knew it was possible she was there, kids like exploring. So many monsters were lying in wait for me," she exaggerated a bit, Alolan Rattata and Raticate, and Yungoos and Gumshoos didn't exactly scream scary. But to her, at the time, they were monsters, looking for a meal. They wanted to eat. They wanted to hunt.[break][break]

In that way, it was the scariest thing to her.[break][break]

She continues. Remembering why she became a Ranger to begin with. "I was scared, but I pressed on. I found out I was right when I heard her crying, and immediately went to her aid. She'd hurt her ankle. So I picked her up, and said what my mom always says; it was going to be okay. And then a big monster, with big puffy cheeks halted us," she moves her hands in such a way to show that size, that the Fairy merely laughs from her back, covered by the sheathe. "We're defenseless, two little girls not even at ten about to get eaten. And worse, smaller monsters come around us both. I try to be brave, and call out, but the monsters get closer and closer. I didn't back down."[break][break]

She smiles warmly at the thought, and closes her eyes. "And then. Mom showed up. In moments, her and this big gorilla with her," Mr. Business comes to mind, the big red gorilla slapping the hell out of the Rattata burns into her head "-take control of the situation, grab both me and her, and leave the cave back home."[break][break]

"The way she moved, without any worry, how effortlessly she helped the situation and got us out, the way she put a smile on my friend's face, and made me feel safe. I wanted to be like that."[break][break]

She finally looks back to the Bard.[break][break]

"Will that do?"

One moment is all it takes to make a difference.[break][break]

Bulu could only go so far. The damage was great, to a point where the bull spirit could not go much further. Their eyes droop. The one they carry is heavy, a heavy burden on heart and soul. But the gift they give to her, is strong. She wanted to be strong. So in his eternal laziness, he would do what he could.[break][break]

The most slothful choice was to let her do it herself. That is why he granted it so early.[break][break]

A small bed of flowers on the outskirts of the woods would do. Her body lays there now, likened to that of a corpse, sleeping like she was dead to the world at large and its conflict. Bulu's eyes droop further. The island spirit looking for the Pokeball on her person. Two Pokeballs had shattered. Only four remained there.[break][break]

If anyone neared them, Bulu would respond only defensively. To not even protect the girl, but himself. He may believe in her, but it's up to her now.[break][break]

The Tapu smiles. Finding the Pokeball, tapping on it. How did they do this act again? They extended it... irritatingly simple. He taps the ball again to no avail. Frustration comes over the island spirit. Deciding it best to stay in the shadow, Tapu Bulu attempts to float up into the trees.[break][break]

As he floats up, she sleeps.[break][break]

In her dream, she finds herself within an eternal flower field, miles and miles of hills covered in the blossoming petals. A distant bell heard on the horizon. Where she's going, where she was, doesn't matter here.[break][break]

And thus, they believed in her.[break][break]

With a hefty snort, the bull would turn to face Howard. Their eyes meeting, the Tapu would stare. They did not owe the Admin an answer, but their answer was in their silent retreat. The damage is done, their body was battered and bruised.[break][break]

But Tapu Bulu would not let any more harm come to Genny. As it floats away, the answer does not have to be said.[break][break]

Admist the trees and brush... Bulu and his new Avatar disappear.

When she's feeling better? Genny wonders... does she even have that time? She has no clue. Rocket could try to expand more and more, festering into Hoenn, and more people could die. More people could falter and fall, and all she can do is let them here in this bed. To train, sure. But there's no time.[break][break]

A true hero doesn't wait, they fight on. They save people, they fix the problem, even at the cost of everything. Even if it means, to burn. She has to be better. NOW. It doesn't if she's afraid, it doesn't matter if she's in pain. She needs better. Sitting here does nothing.[break][break]

Navy distracts her, Genny not realizing that she's clinching the blankets in balled fists. Pulled back down to earth. She hears him speak of Bulu, and she laughs weakly. "He can be. But he's really just a big teddie bear! He just needs motivation."[break][break]

Finally bursting from his ball, the bull spirit moo'd out, the eyes set now on Genny. A small vein of irritation at how she referred to him as a mere 'teddie bear'.[break][break]

"But no... not yet." She'd only just gotten him, after all. "When he's ready, and I'm worthy, maybe then I can-" she gets choked up. The roar of Kyogre fills her mind, like a shadow leviathan screaming at the top of their lungs, ready to kill. Sweat trickles her face, a cascading fear moving downwards, as she looks to the window.[break][break]

"... maybe." Genny trails off.

- When she gets better... she can't wait till she's better. Her impatience can't. But when he distracts her with Bulu, she comes down to earth.[break]
- Calls Bulu a big teddie bear who needs motivation, and Bulu appears, irritated. Genny responds that no, she's no Avatar yet. When he's ready, and she's worthy, maybe. But... Kyogre has her worried.

Accepting responsibility, to stop wallowing on what makes her unworthy, and focus on what can be done... to do what she can. Get up, and get stronger. Genny takes this information, and lets it sink in. To do what she can. Bulu would help her get there.[break][break]

There's a swirl of emotions, when Genevieve Cromwell stares back. She pulls herself to her feet, no longer seated on the chair. The vision and dream... they were constants. She pulls her eyes out of that ball, out of the reflection, and sets them on the woman before her.[break][break]

"Thank you, Councilwoman. I'll take this to heart, and see how to move forward."[break][break]

What else is there to say? Freya is right. If she continues not listening, she'll be an epitaph as Officer Concordas stated. A hero who dies leaves sadness behind, like Sheriff Navidson's brother. She needs to save herself first. To adjust.[break][break]

And this could be a way to do just that.[break][break]

"I hope-" she stops, and clutches the ball to her heart.[break][break]

"I know I will."

Mercy. That's what it is. Mercy is what the strong give to the weak, in times like this, as an act of kindness. But in his laughter, he spits upon that kindness. The scowl that Genevieve echoes back, as he would return his shoulder back in place, as the chaos of the Aerodactyl and Turtonator continue. That's the problem though. The Rocket before her is not weak.[break][break]

Even as the Turtonator cries out and point-blanks Shale, Shale screeches with malignant fury, more life to burn through, and another SHADOW LEECH. Genny needed to reign her in, but her fury matched Shale's, and in that lack fo control, she could not even stop the continued OUTRAGE, or the cries of Titan as he kept protecting her. A PROTECT, attempting to keep the Baron at bay.[break][break]

Genny wasn't in her right mind.[break][break]

She takes the step towards him, but as she grabs at her side, she realizes who took it worse out of the two of them. She winces, staggering in place, as her hazel eyes look on in fury.[break][break]

"Stupid," she bites back. "If you had none, you'd have come at me just now." She had another Pokeball in her hand. She was ready to turn this into a Triple Battle any moment. But if he attacked her with a weapon, Titan would surely be there to protect her. Right?[break][break]

"You talk too much." She's trying to well up her strength, but she has so little to offer right now.

Do better... keep on this path, and she'll be an epitaph? He's ruthless, but these are words she needed to hear. When she takes the SAPPHIRE card, and looks it over. She was about to leave, with the broken spirit of a kicked puppy, only to perk up the moment Paxton focused on something else.[break][break]

Lucky.[break][break]

In the moment, as Lucky perks up, staring at Paxton, and back to Genny, Genny looks at him. And there's this moment, where it stops being so hard to talk. Like, the moment she took just a few minutes, to look down, and see the worry she gave Lucky... it melted her heart again. There was just a glimpse of the girl from before.[break][break]

And the dreams she had before that vision.[break][break]

"I did... volunteer work, during Meteno. I wasn't ready for the field, but I couldn't sit still. The war was going, and so many people were hurt. This little Yamper came in, both his hind legs were gone. But he kept smiling, tongue out and bright as can be," she sets the crutch against the tree, moving herself with a struggle to the ground next to Lucky, petting him. The little pup had tears in his eyes, but he weakly licked against Genny's hands.[break][break]

"I kept going back to play with him. He's faster than other Yampers, his wheels give him better turning... then Melody Miro came one day, while I was just volunteering. First time meeting her too! She asked if he was mine, and I told her no. She said it was a shame. She even wanted me to take the Gym Challenge!" She laughs, the pup giving bigger licks now. "After Sootopolis... I think the clinic I volunteered at heard about my condition, and had Lucky moved here while I was comatose. He never left my side during those three days."[break][break]

She ruffles behind his ears, and lovingly moves to kiss the pup's forehead. "I guess... he was mine, after all."

By time they reach the simple stone bridge over the wide-river, the redhead would see the Lutenist plucking away aimlessly. As they wave, the nameless one would stare on, looking back to the Fairy. Their lone eye opens, as they stare towards the human-like figure, who speaks. A simple lute is not atypical to hurt her.[break][break]

'I will be right here.' They close their eye, returning into the sheathe.[break][break]

Stepping to the bridge, the nameless redhead smiles. "And what words do you have, bard?" She tilts her head, looking to learn of what words the bard has for the road.

Genny falls. Forever in her mind, she is falling into the depths, farther and farther. The ground does not appear to find her, for she's collapsed already. She passed out before ever reaching the dirt and soil. The tin soldier has fought, and torn their body near extinction point. And yet... she would not see the rays of sunlight peek through the storm, as they light over her.[break][break]

The human's words touched his heart. This Admin spoke, and in such a way, invigorated and empowered the bull to save the girl. When the MAX THUNDER comes, he meets it, the MAX OVERGROWTH birthing from it once more, the field of flowers, the many petals thrown upwards into the air, as Bulu goes as far as to turn his back to the rock-monstrosity behind him, and even when the Z-Move comes, he does not dare move. Bulu would take both strikes, he would take all of the damage. With the uproar given by the bull, it's all he is able to do for her now. As the devastation leaves a storm of sand in its wake, Bulu roars out, before shrinking.[break][break]

The Dynergy done, Bulu had fulfilled his objective. No damage had come to harm Genny. Let her have her peaceful nap. She had suffered enough.[break][break]

The island spirit would fidget and twitch, leaning down to grab her, as he eyes Howard. In his eyes, he would stare on, holding Genny like a new bride. She was in no shape to walk, so he would bear her weight. He may be on the brink of collapse, but for now, he must get her to safety.[break][break]

Wordlessly, his eyes sit upon Howard. His somber eyes told a story more than any words spoken on this battlefield. Within this human that Genny had tried to reach out for, she had won in her own way. She had touched his heart.[break][break]

Nodding to Howard in respect, he would limply float away, having trouble keeping in the air in his tiny form. They may suffer a loss this day, but Genny had won.[break][break]

Genny is no gamer. Rhythm or otherwise. She may like them, but that was about all she can say. So when Shalin moves to high five her for the song, she smiles. But her response about the final song, an extra song with a life bar that was strict? Genny barely survived these songs.[break][break]

"I can watch. My legs are kinda jelly right now." She smiles, vibrantly enough. Important to Shalin, and Genny was just the passenger princess here. So as she leans back and lets Shalin do her thing, she watches on to Shalin's movements.
