Rocket doesn't sleep. They continue to push, and every bit of therapy, every bit of training, every part of her is pushing ahead. Her team is ready.[break][break]

Rest is wrong. She can't sit around and let Rustboro or Oldale burn. She will hold the flag, and rebel against them at every turn. She will do it, even if she's told not to. Even if she's told she has to rest. Every part of her body hurts. If Nurse Katharina Strophe saw her out here, if ollie morales saw her out here, if Navy, or paxton concordas, they may have words, questions, they may refute.[break][break]

But, she stands in the way, and she won't let them come. Not another step.[break][break]

Upon the back of the shadow stalker, the shadow Aerodactyl flies in the sky, ready to take on any foe. She may not be a Ranger right now, but if she falters and lays down now, they'll take more. More die. More people die if she doesn't fight.[break][break]

If that means she burns... so be it.[break][break]

As she scouts over the skies, grabbing at her side, she tightens her grip. Readying for the conflict, readying for the battles to come. Her eyes are focused, more than they've ever been, but also conscious of the ground below.[break][break]

Though their conquest of Petalburg was sweet, it was not enough. No, not until the entire world was theirs! Not until the world was subject to the brilliance of Rocket!

Oldale and Rustboro were next! Riding on the back of his Gouging Fire, Dorian charged across Route 102. The ancient Entei-like beast moved ceaselessly across the Route, bloodlust in their eyes. The Mad Dog made it his mission to claim the small town for their own.

Upon spotting the Leaguer in the sky, Dorian grinned. Baron Bashington stopped, roaring to the sky to clear it of clouds, ushering in a Sunny Day. As the sun smiled down upon the battlefield with eternal malice, the Gouging Fire found themselves invigorated. Protosynthesis caused the beast's muscles to tense and swell, becoming stronger.

"Stand down now, interloper, or end up like Captain Nariya!", Dorian barked at the woman on the Aerodactyl.

The sun shoots into the sky, parting the clouds, and Genny turns to see it, before the source of the newly reinvigorated daylight. Her head swivels back to face the Rocket. Unknown to her, they had fought before in the skies above Dewford. She didn't need to know it.[break][break]

Then he says something. Interloper, an insult she doesn't quite piece together, not out of ignorance but by choice. End up like Captain Nariya, though. Her friend, Shalin Nariya. Genny's eyes light up with fury. She points downwards, standing atop of Shale, as she calls out.[break][break]

"Give her, and Petalburg, back." she points at Baron Bashington. And immediately, Shale's eyes burn on target, as they mark him with UMBRAL PREDATOR, ready to eviscerate the Gouging Fire. And then comes the divebomb, as Genny pulls upwards. The most notable part is her lack of holding back.[break][break]

With one ROCK SLIDE cascading downwards to Dorian and Baron Bashington.[break][break]

Genny no longer cared if this Rocket lived or died. She'll bury Petalburg if it gets Shalin back. A recklessness that was inevitably going to get her killed, if she stayed that path.

Dorian laughed at the Ranger's reaction. "I can't do that! But I think after I'm done beating you, I'll take you to her! She could use a cellmate, after all!", Dorian jeered at the Ranger.

Even if Shalin Nariya didn't have much intel to divulge, torturing her friend in front of her might break her that much further.

"Not very - Ranger like of you~", Dorian taunted Genevieve, as her Shadow Aerodactyl targeted him. The Gouging Fire assumed a defensive position, roaring as the fur on his face glowed and hardened. The Burning Bulwark protected both themselves and Dorian from the Rock Slide.

Before the dust settled, Dorian aggressively tossed a Pokeball overhead, attempting to land it behind the Ranger's position. From the Pokeball emerged a Turtonator. The explosive turtle immediately loosed a Dragon Pulse towards the corrupted Aerodactyl, and its rider.

This was not going to be a piece of cake. But it was a worthy fight all the same.

"You can try," she snarls back like a monster in her own right, her hazel eyes burning with the same fire that reignited. Genny HAD to save Shalin. From this monster, and her shackles, she'd break those chains.[break][break]

Even as the Rocket defends himself from the ROCK SLIDE, Genny never stopped planning. To his comment, she's fast to slapback.[break][break]

"Not acting as a Ranger," she calls back. This one, this was personal.[break][break]

When the Turtonator spawns out of the Rocket's ball, Genny looks to Shale, and Shale flips onto her side to block the DRAGON PULSE as Genny does the same. Shale takes it, screaming like a banshee from the blast to her shadowy visage, while one Pokeball is dropped, not so much thrown, and spins.[break][break]

A Drednaw appears just nearby the Gouging Fire and Rocket. "Subdue."[break][break]

Titan races forward, intent on a HEAD SMASH into the Baron. To the Turtonator though, Genny roars out the order. "RAM!" The shadowy Aerodactyl responds in kind, throwing her entire body into the Turtonator midair, knocking Genny off low to the ground.[break][break]

The Rocket hurt her friend. So she'll do her best to break him, even as the impact throws her off, closer to the ground, she tumbles, now grounded. Something cracked.

Dorian laughed as the woman claimed to be representing herself. "Then you will die alone, and forgotten!", the Mad Dog jeered at the redhead.

The Dragon Pulse got the Aerodactyl's attention. As the Drednaw was brought out, the Gouging Fire looked on at the beast with murderous intent. The Gouging fire met the Drednaw's charge, in a state of Outrage.

As the two made contact, Dorian was thrown off the beast. He hit the ground hard, the landing causing him to dislocate his shoulder. Dorian grunted in pain, looking up to see the battle.

The Gouging Fire roared in pain and fury as the Head Smash made its impact. Despite this, the beast was far from done.

Meanwhile, the Turtonator, anticipating the attack, while not being able to set up a Shell Trap in time, braced himself for impact. In retaliation, the tortoise blasted the Aerodactyl with a noxious cloud of Smog.

As Dorian struggled to get up, and find something to ram his shoulder against, he thought on his opponent. The fact that she had the guts to pull something like that earned some respect from the Mad Dog.

If only she chose the right side.

Pain is coursing through her entire body at the moment of collision. Something broke. It's like agony, pushing into her body, and no matter how much she shakes, she feels it difficult to rise. But she HAS to rise. She HAS to get up. She HAS to bury this Rocket in the ground.[break][break]

Even at the cost of everything.[break][break]

The wild look in her eyes, as she pulls herself to her feet, and stares with fire in her gaze, ready to fire lasers, as her nose scrunches up in fury.[break][break]

Shale does her best, but the poison courses through the shadowy Aerodactyl, unable to stop the Turtonator's SMOG. She may be hurt, but she has just the fix. Shale forces her jaws open, and digs it into the Turtonator as best she can, with a SHADOW LEECH, attempting to open a wound that won't clot properly, and heal from the blood.[break][break]

Titan doesn't have the same means of protection. Not immediately. The OUTRAGE is met with his HEAD SMASH, and as Titan skids back into the dirt, he cries out with a ROCK TOMB, intending to bury the Gouging Fire back, as Genny walks limply past the giant turtle.[break][break]

She grabs at her side, wincing. "I'm giving you one chance. Let her go and back down." Was she really in a position to make demands.[break][break]

"You won't get another."

The Rock Tomb only seemed to slow the juggernaut down. Despite whatever pain they might've been in, the Baron's outrage seemed to override any of it. The Gouging Fire still attempted to charge at the rock tortoise in their all consuming Outrage.

As Dorian conducted his search, he made sure not to keep his eyes off of Genevieve, or her Pokemon. That despite everything, the woman proved to be a fearsome battler. Even her offer of mercy didn't shake the newfound respect he had developed for the Ranger.

But rather than consider taking it, Dorian laughed.

"You got guts, I'll give you that!", Dorian began, as he got close to a tree. "Let me give you some advice.", Dorian trailed off, before ramming his dislocated shoulder into the nearby tree, grunting as he socketed it back in.

"Never offer mercy to those without it!"

The Turtonator cried out as the Shadow Leech struck him. Despite this, the explosive turtle remained defiant, loosing a point-blank Dragon Pulse at the corrupted Aerodactyl.

Dorian could've easily unleashed another Pokemon on Genny, attempt to get the jump on her, to finish her off. But Dorian, seeing what she was going to do, instead opted to play it even. As if the Mad Dog was playing with his food. A bad habit of his dating back to his years on the streets of Pyrite Town.

Mercy. That's what it is. Mercy is what the strong give to the weak, in times like this, as an act of kindness. But in his laughter, he spits upon that kindness. The scowl that Genevieve echoes back, as he would return his shoulder back in place, as the chaos of the Aerodactyl and Turtonator continue. That's the problem though. The Rocket before her is not weak.[break][break]

Even as the Turtonator cries out and point-blanks Shale, Shale screeches with malignant fury, more life to burn through, and another SHADOW LEECH. Genny needed to reign her in, but her fury matched Shale's, and in that lack fo control, she could not even stop the continued OUTRAGE, or the cries of Titan as he kept protecting her. A PROTECT, attempting to keep the Baron at bay.[break][break]

Genny wasn't in her right mind.[break][break]

She takes the step towards him, but as she grabs at her side, she realizes who took it worse out of the two of them. She winces, staggering in place, as her hazel eyes look on in fury.[break][break]

"Stupid," she bites back. "If you had none, you'd have come at me just now." She had another Pokeball in her hand. She was ready to turn this into a Triple Battle any moment. But if he attacked her with a weapon, Titan would surely be there to protect her. Right?[break][break]

"You talk too much." She's trying to well up her strength, but she has so little to offer right now.

The Drednaw's protect successfully blocked the Outrage-fueled rain of blows from the Gouging Fire. Slowed down by the protect, the Entei-like beast quickly found himself left Confused. Somehow holding it together, the ancient beast attempted to smash down on the tortoise with his Crush Claw.

The Turtonator cried out in pain as he felt the second Shadow Leech. All he could do was Endure the vicious blow. He knew he was in trouble, and may not make it. So rather than allow the corrupted Aerodactyl the satisfaction of victory, the fire tortoise began to glow.

Dorian laughed at what the woman had to say. Though it was true, that there were times where even he showed mercy, this was not one of them. This wasn't even about some sort of twisted honor.

"And where would the fun in that be?", Dorian questioned. "Fights like this don't come my way often! So I might as well savor them, while I get the chance to enjoy them!"

Dorian grabbed at a custom-made Luxury Ball, one that was meticulously maintained.

It's sickening. Her teeth grit, and she takes a step closer. "This is fun?" She scowls, the look in her eyes one filled with fury. "I hate this. The feeling of my heartbeat in my ear. The tension in my neck. You call this fun?" She takes another step forward.[break][break]

And then came the cry from Titan, and her head turns to the side... to see the carnage as it happened. With a beast-like smash down, Titan's shell bursts completely. Her lips part. Her eyes flood with tears before she realizes what happened. In her fury, and her anger, she blinded herself to being a hero. And in that moment, she ignored him. She ignored one of her Pokemon, and her heart breaks.[break][break]

She turns back around, and sees Shale monstrously ripping and tearing into the Turtonator, another SHADOW LEECH. She was no better than Rocket in that moment. Is this where her anger leads? Her pupils shrink. Is this what separated her from Rocket? The look in her eyes... distraught. Her psyche breaks.[break][break]

It's catching up to her now. She let this happen.[break][break]

"I-" should never have come here. You were right, Officer Concordas. Ollie. Freya. This was a mistake.

Dorian watched as the Ranger attempted to tell him how much she hated this. Then they both turned to watch as the Baron took out her Drednaw with their Crush Claw.

"Good work, Baron Bashington!", Dorian called out to the Gouging Fire, cheering on the carnage.

As they attempted to bask in the Morning Sun to heal themselves, they instead fell down, hurting themselves. "No, pull yourself together!", Dorian reacted, in disbelief at the sight.

Dorian took notice to how she was tearing up. How she seemed to be losing her nerve. Dorian cackled madly, as he observed.

"Why am I not surprised? Just another sanctimonious Ranger, always pontificating about right and wrong! Lacking the stomach for real action, real battle! Why do you think we took Kanto? Why do you think it took the deaths of Raikou and Suicune to prevent us from taking Johto? Because you are all weak, craven parasites! Unfit to run a club, let alone entire Regions! When we win, we will cast aside the pitiful weakness that has gripped the world!", Dorian ranted at the woman. Just as much an attempt to get inside her head, as much as an affirmation of what he was fighting for. Glory to Rocket.

The Turtonator cried out in agony, as another Shadow Leech struck him. The fire tortoise realized he was on his last legs. One more attack, and he was done. But rather than allow the corrupted Aerodactyl the pleasure of taking him out, he planned to go out on his own terms instead.

With a defiant glare, and cry, the Turtonator began to glow, before going out in one final Explosion. His remains scattered across the battlefield violently.

As the explosion resonated through the area, Dorian unleashed his Genesect, Prince Beepboop the Sixth from the Luxury Ball. The Red Genesect began to size up the Ranger with cold, mechanical eyes.

Mistakes were made. Unfortunately, it's Titan and Shale who pay that price. Titan, ripped apart by the CRUSH CLAW, and the Turtonator EXPLOSION on Shale, leading to a bloody mass that was Shale, still breathing, but barely clinging to life. And all the while, in those moments, the Rocket wax poetically about the weakness of the League, unable to stomach the real fight. In that moment, she can't help but agree, but for vastly different reasonings.[break][break]

She felt so powerless in those moments, but as she returns Shale, unable to handle another loss, Genny looks to the Genesect, mechanical eyes staring at her. A machine built for war, and one that would claim her. Her legs were locked in place, her stomach knotted itself repeatedly.[break][break]

She takes a step back. "..." She can't win this fight. So she has to force a stalemate.[break][break]

"Lock them down, Balmung." From her hand, tossing it upwards with reckless abandon, the little liquid metal bolt comes crashing down, with a THUNDER WAVE towards the Genesect, before squelching on the ground with a bow towards Dorian.[break][break]

And as it races towards Genny, the other ball is out in seconds, spun out from her wrist. From it, came the Alolan Marowak, Skulley, who threw her bone at the remaining Baron, intent to knock out as fast as possible with a SHADOW BONE, the focus in her eyes no longer one of fury, rather shaken resolve.

Dorian's eyes widen in surprise as the little Meltan fires a jolt of electricity towards his Genesect. The automaton emits a serious of frantic beeps as they find themselves subjected to Paralysis.

"Prince Beepboop, use Techno Blast on that little runt!", Dorian orders.

Try as they might, the Prince seized up, fully at the mercy of paralysis. If that wasn't bad enough, the Alolan Marowak's Shadow Bone managed to strike a weakpoint on the Baron, causing the ancient Pokemon to go down with a pained grunt.

"Why you-", Dorian growled, recalling the Baron, and sending out his oldest companion, Smoochie Duckie the Magmortar, in their place.

Before Dorian can give an order, his radio blares to life.

"Does anyone read me!? Camp Epsilon is under attack! Two individuals, one of them is Thomas Benoit! Send back up, no-", the voice urgently called out, before being cut off. A scream of terror and pain was the last thing to come through, before the radio was smashed with a stomp.
