The LEAF BLADES come out immediately towards the woman's voice, as the Sceptile bears her blades, but a quick turn of Sherwood's head to Genny, shows her that the girl was reliving the last fight in Dewford. The familiarity in her tone, and familiar tone was panic-inducing. But![break][break]

'Serenity...' she grits her teeth, shaking. She was aiming to find one of three Rockets, but not this soon. She's trembling. This was the perfect place to avenge Serenity, but her body is so weak right now. If only she listened. All she can do now is fight back, verbally, and let Sherwood take point.[break][break]

"Lucky for me then," she boasted a big game. "-I'm on vacation from the League. This one's personal." Can she back it up?[break][break]

As she grabs towards her earring Mega Stone, she certainly hoped so. When Sherwood rushes out, engulfed in light, her Mega Form exuded from her very body, and she races towards Osiris, her pine-tree-esque tail exploding into a barrage of sharp bark-like scales, in a SCALE SHOT.[break][break]

If that last Rocket made her feel like this was a mistake, the woman before her only multiplied that feeling tenfold.

Mistakes were made. Unfortunately, it's Titan and Shale who pay that price. Titan, ripped apart by the CRUSH CLAW, and the Turtonator EXPLOSION on Shale, leading to a bloody mass that was Shale, still breathing, but barely clinging to life. And all the while, in those moments, the Rocket wax poetically about the weakness of the League, unable to stomach the real fight. In that moment, she can't help but agree, but for vastly different reasonings.[break][break]

She felt so powerless in those moments, but as she returns Shale, unable to handle another loss, Genny looks to the Genesect, mechanical eyes staring at her. A machine built for war, and one that would claim her. Her legs were locked in place, her stomach knotted itself repeatedly.[break][break]

She takes a step back. "..." She can't win this fight. So she has to force a stalemate.[break][break]

"Lock them down, Balmung." From her hand, tossing it upwards with reckless abandon, the little liquid metal bolt comes crashing down, with a THUNDER WAVE towards the Genesect, before squelching on the ground with a bow towards Dorian.[break][break]

And as it races towards Genny, the other ball is out in seconds, spun out from her wrist. From it, came the Alolan Marowak, Skulley, who threw her bone at the remaining Baron, intent to knock out as fast as possible with a SHADOW BONE, the focus in her eyes no longer one of fury, rather shaken resolve.

His confession is sad. So much so, that it clouds her sunny smile. She doesn't pull away, and she merely leans into him, just an inch more. Hitoshi says he's only good at killing? Well, it's understandable. But...[break][break]

"I don't think that's true," she smiles, knowing something he doesn't. "You've saved me twice now." Once, when they fought and he pulled her through the ringer to win. Once now, when she laid in that bed of flowers, and any Rocket could come after her. They would take the kill, take Bulu like Fox wanted. They could have won that kill. Hitoshi could have won that kill.[break][break]

And yet, they didn't. Hitoshi didn't.[break][break]

"Every person is capable of so much in this life. We only have one. Why limit yourself to something like that, Inoue?" she holds his hand tighter, pulling it close to her chest. To try and soothe Hitoshi.[break][break]

They'll ask a lot of her. Genny nods, as she stares down at the Pokeball holding her new bull friend, she smiles. And in moments to follow, her nodding in approval, it looks like Genny is taking those lessons to heart.[break][break]

By time she leaves Councilwoman Freya Morningstar's office, she's looking more positive, and Lucky even follows her out. They begin walking into the hall, enjoying the afternoon... and then, she hears from a worker. Rumors of Rocket attempting to expand in Petalburg, towards Oldale and Rustboro.[break][break]

Her eyes flash with a moment of panic. Lucky whimpers, staring towards the girl. Pleading for her not to do this.[break][break]

The next day, she makes for Petalburg.

It's sickening. Her teeth grit, and she takes a step closer. "This is fun?" She scowls, the look in her eyes one filled with fury. "I hate this. The feeling of my heartbeat in my ear. The tension in my neck. You call this fun?" She takes another step forward.[break][break]

And then came the cry from Titan, and her head turns to the side... to see the carnage as it happened. With a beast-like smash down, Titan's shell bursts completely. Her lips part. Her eyes flood with tears before she realizes what happened. In her fury, and her anger, she blinded herself to being a hero. And in that moment, she ignored him. She ignored one of her Pokemon, and her heart breaks.[break][break]

She turns back around, and sees Shale monstrously ripping and tearing into the Turtonator, another SHADOW LEECH. She was no better than Rocket in that moment. Is this where her anger leads? Her pupils shrink. Is this what separated her from Rocket? The look in her eyes... distraught. Her psyche breaks.[break][break]

It's catching up to her now. She let this happen.[break][break]

"I-" should never have come here. You were right, Officer Concordas. Ollie. Freya. This was a mistake.

Zag landed ahead of the entirety of the bumpy roads, and Genny's trust paid off. The moment she looked behind her, she realized it; she was in first. And in that split moment, as she threw her head to the course ahead of her. She liked the speed.[break][break]

The danger Hitoshi went through to save her butt, to begin with, was admirable. When his face burns, she can't help but want to tease him like she always did. That familiar, offputting feeling inside her chest only grows. The fact that Hitoshi would go that far for her...[break][break]

Then Elly-chan... who was that? The fact that he showed so much heart for someone else, showed that the Black Dog of Rocket was kind of cute. Even the most ferocious dogs can be puppies at heart.[break][break]

"They won't. I don't want to put you in any more danger than I already have," she sweetly assures, moving to set her head on his shoulder, while his eyes are closed. The smile on her face is content. "You'd fight for me, but I don't want you to kill for me. When I'm better, I'll beat Rocket, I'll beat declan walsh, and win against Fox." It's a declaration. She's not so good with her limits.[break][break]

"And free you too, from these shackles." Her hand rests firmly on his now. She closes her eyes too. "If you'll let me, when that time comes. Some Rockets deserve that choice."

Heroes? She quietly giggles. She can't help that part of herself, it's ingrained into her very DNA. She left Evergrande, betrayed the notion of rest, of everything that her superiors kept telling her to do, in order to try and keep the Rocket threat contained in Petalburg. That's where her boyfriend's home was. She had the key still, on her person. Not that it mattered.[break][break]

Above her weight class though? As Hitoshi moves to sit next to her, she barely sat two inches below him, and yet she feels at peace. Still so comfy, a certain chemical reacting to him in her brain.[break][break]

"Maybe. But he also knows that I don't like sitting idly by, even if someone is above my weight class," she admits, tucking her hair behind her ear. Her actions weren't truly her own, that much is true. She was busy mentally wrestling some twisted martyr in her head, a vision of a future that looked good enough. A dream that was wrong, catalyzed finally by this 'Fox'. And now, she had Hitoshi here, like before.[break][break]

Be... fore. The idea of waking up, seeing someone caring like Hitoshi was pleasant. And in a way, she wondered...[break][break]

"What about you, Hitoshi? I am the enemy after all." The way she leans forward, wanting to see the way he reacted. Sure, if Izzy found him dead, she knew he'd be sad. But Hitoshi...? In her heart, she already kinda knew. She'd just forgotten. Even if those memories felt so far away, in that chain they never really go away.[break][break]

That glint in her eyes, as she's pushing ahead. The Linoone is faster, and the Salazzle is just a bit over Zagreus right now. Josh is gaining. That's gonna be trouble, and what comes ahead will be too.[break][break]

Zagreus is all burst energy. Genny knows this because for just a moment, they practiced. They don't have a lot of formal training together, and that means his energy is on a timer. Because of that... the jump that's ahead, is going to be rough, no matter the case.[break][break]

"Zag!" The wind blows through her orange hair, and the dog gives a bark in acknowledgment. He didn't want to fail this. Genny smiles. "Fly." Zag barks and leaps with every muscle in his hind legs.[break][break]

Navy wasn't holding it back, and not that Genny could disagree either. There were... choices Head Commissioner Goode made, that had her question the League. Genny hated that. But for the moment, Bulu was gifted to her... but she didn't feel like she deserved that.[break][break]

With a sigh, she leans back. The problem wasn't Bulu at all. Why was it bestowed to her? Why Bulu? She fails to hide that frustration, unable to force a smile. Bulu is a teddie bear, and though he's a lazy one, even as he stares her down with irritation, and soon to Navy, they go to the open chair, and huff, floating just above, like a ghost seated atop of a chair for the sheer ironic enjoyment. Stupid humans.[break][break]

Hearing how the Avatarship had affected him... unable to sleep, her head perks up. It changes you forever? Would it change her? Huh. Even if it did... "Don't worry, Sheriff. I'll handle it when it comes." Lucky rolls onto his stomach on her sheets, as she assures him.[break][break]

Seeing the mist gathering, and pulling him away, she nods to his request. "Maybe." He ran a Gym there... hm. Well, used to. Maybe she should... She thinks. "I'll be there." In a bout of frustration, once Navy left, her eyes stared out the window. She could see it now; a region burning in fire. Her hazel eyes watching the flames consume everything on that mainland. With gritted teeth, she does something she hadn't in a while.[break][break]

Officer paxton concordas was here. Maybe she could meet with him. She needed to know if there was anything she could do. She HAD to. A quick text... a meeting.

So curious. An invitation, delivered out to her apartment mailbox. Months before her lease was up, with it now sitting on her coffee table. It's a great opportunity. On the other hand, accepting it... felt oddly wrong. Everyone told her to slow down, and she'd been doing that since the war. She'd partaken in three Gym Challenges, to try and get her mind set straight. It was only now, that she had slowed down in full.[break][break]

She's not always on the field anymore. Her time off had been healing. Especially recently for whatever reason, it felt like she was in the best shape of her life.[break][break]

"What would you do, Mom?" she asks into her phone, a phone call meant for her mother back in Alola. Finally, telling her how she's doing. But the answer had already been known. From the moment she got into this region, she was here to help people. If this meant there was a way to do just that, she'd do it. She'd accept that invite.[break][break]

The sea salt breeze felt so nice this time of year. Just chilly enough not to swim, but just warm enough to be cozy. When that call was done, she would look at her contacts, her phone filled with people she cared so much for. They may not be here now, but they yet lived. They were alive. So she would do what she could to keep them that way.[break][break]

She'd be okay. Because she knew her limits now. She'd do enough.

Bulu didn't answer back to Hitoshi. They merely stare at him. They knew. Even if he did intend to capture, she wouldn't be in captivity long. But nonetheless, they snort hot air out of those nostrils. It bothered him little, therefore it was fine.[break][break]

He follows the Black Dog of Rocket, quietly observing at a distance. He's still a Rocket.[break][break]

When the bell rings again, her eyes begin to open. She pulls herself up slowly, dull pains shooting from various parts of her body. Her chest was covered in cruder bandages again, her face too.[break][break]

Just dull pain. Sore.[break][break]

Waking up felt different. Something was different. But what? She couldn't really piece it together... because there's a Rocket by her side again. For a moment, just like that forgotten memory, she beams to him, waking from sleep fully like a sleeping beauty.[break][break]

"Hitoshi," she says his name sweeter every time they met since their battle. It felt right. But to his worries, she winces. First friends to Bulu, then about picking fights? She rubs the back of her neck, as she stretches. Little to no worry, lethargic in a way. She yawns.[break][break]

She never yawns. Not publicly.[break][break]

"Sorry that I worried you, Inoue," she's honest. No matter how many people told her to back down, she didn't. And she nearly died because of it, three times. One to a monster named Fox.[break][break]

"I had to try to help though." She stretches just a bit more. She felt so limber.
