Ettie didn't know too much about the Draconids. But from what she was able to learn, they were people who worked closely with dragon-types a long time ago. Though, the shrines - both the one she visited not long ago, and the one she is approaching now, drawn in by the Salamence's display - are fascinating, to say the least.

The buildings look so different from that of Fortree or Mauville - from a lot of other places that she's seen before, really! Though, it was hard for her to articulate the specifics of what or how... Could she do something like this, with her own den..?

As the pack mingled about, it was only a matter of time before they'd brush with the dragons that were similarly hanging around. Of course, interactions were respectful and amicable - Anne and Anat enforced it - but Ettie was curious to see the different beasts present here. As her pokemon played and socialized with some of them, the wildchild took note of the different species present.

For the most part, dragons seemed to be more independent creatures, Ettie noted. But even then, they were able to come together like a pack - even if not the same sort of pack as what she and her pokemon had... What were the dynamics like, she wondered?

Snow, snow, and more snow - it was all so white and fluffy and pretty, and it was fun!

Ettie would yelp as a snowball fell on her head, before breaking out into bright giggles. As she shook the snow out of her hair, she'd glance up to see Andrea in a tree - the Honchkrow having a laugh over this bout of mischief...

... At least, until the dark-type ended up squawking and nearly falling off of her perch, when Ettie threw a half-packed snowball right back at her! She spluttered and shook her feathers off - wings flapping to right herself on the branch.

Ettie giggled harder, smiling wide at Adraea's reaction. What goes around, comes around!

Though Cordy was fast, it seemed that Yip was getting a grasp on how to aim at the swift Absol - and was prepared to douse her with paint!

But, not long after, the dark-type terastallizes into flying - which catches Yip's attention. Further catching her attention, was Cordy coming forth with a Night Slash..!!

The Smeargle yelped in surprise, but already had a plan - Copycating Cordy, to clash against the attack with a Night Slash of her own - taking the form of a blade formed from pitch-black paint!

The spray goes wide, and at first, Yip is unsure what sort of move Cordy just used. It certainly had been a move, she saw some sorta glowy thing to it..!

... But, the answer would soon come in the surge of psychic energy from seemingly nowhere as Cordy's Future Sight struck, leaving the Smeargle stumbling with a yelp!

Briefly, she has to shake the daze off - but is already prepared to try and bounce back into it, attempting to once more fire off a Tera Blast..!

(Who knows, maybe she'd be able to hit the Absol while she's laughing so hard!)

"Mhmm! Am Ettie!" The little wildchild confirmed with a bright smile - happy to see Jack, especially as he waves back to her.

Even with the bell interrupting Jack though, Ettie would pull out her Tera Orb to terastallize Yip, continuing to speak all the while. "Pack is good! Pack happy and healthy!"

With the Tera Orb coming out though, Yip would take on the signature crystals - the pale hue of the Normal Tera making her already light-colored fur damn-near white!

The Smeargle seemed happy to act without any commands or direction from Ettie though - considering Cordy for a second. Rather than copy her though, Yip would hold her tail like a rifle and fire off a Tera Blast in the Absol's direction - the attack taking the form of a pressurized spray of paint!

Perhaps there was one benefit to staying for one more battle; namely, in the form of a certain couple of pups.

Ettie perked up as she saw Jack and Cordy - recognizing them back from that Froslass incident. "Friends! Hello!" She chirped, waving happily to the duo. "How-is? Having fun? Ettie loves playfights!"

Which, really, was calling a pokemon battle - even a competitive one - a playfight that far off?

At her side though, was a Smeargle, Yip. Yip perked up at seeing the Absol, and would wave with a little bark - visibly curious. Were there any interesting moves that she could learn from the dark-type...?

Ettie may not understand too much about the Amnesty Program that ollie morales speaks of in his speech - but what she does understand, is that it's time for snowboys!

Bouncing amongst the snow alongside some of her pack, Ettie had taken to getting straight to work on trying to make a Snowboy with the others. Which, first things first, involved getting some snowballs all rolled nice and big! Crouching down, she was already gathering and compacting the snow together, to start on the first ball...

All the while though, a number of her packmates were happy to get up to their own shenanigans - be it playing among themselves, or looking for someplace warm to curl up together and watch the others.

As Tofu shrinks down and the waters begin to die down, Ettie steps out to meet Yip - her steps at first a bit tentative, but then gaining in confidence and enthusiasm as the Smeargle barks to her! She jogs on over to Yip, ruffling the top of the Smeargle's head with both hands with a warm giggle. "Did good!" She praises Yip.

And as Ollie approaches, she smiles up to him and accepts the handshake. "You too!" She chirps, shaking his hand enthusiastically. She knew how to do this! Maybe!

But, as the handshake trails off... She continues gazing up to him - examining. "... Friend... Familiar." She murmurs after a moment, thoughtful. "From... Long-dream?" From the time, spent in that ethereal Galar... It was a strange feeling, to see someone she'd only remember from there.

The rocky steps that lead up from Route 115, into the mountainous land which Meteor Falls is set into, are quiet for the time being. The weather, though cold, is clear and calm. Wild pokemon don't prove to be much trouble, either, from the looks of things...

... But, the further up one goes, the more signs there are of the pack's presence - that they were treading into their territory. Quill's nose would be able to pick up the occasional scents of different canids. A keen eye might be able to note signs of their passage, such as trails of pawprints and places where the more scraggly growth present had caught a tuft of fur or two.

There was something curious about it all, however. Namely, in the sheer differences in scents, in the fur, in the shapes and sizes of the pawprints. It was as though there were multiple different species of canines co-habitating here... Perhaps not the most out-there possibility, but it wasn't something that tended to happen in the wild!

But, another feeling that soon came, was the sensations of being watched.

The sound of fluttering wings above would show a Honchkrow roosting at the edge of a ridge above - staring down at the two with a cocked head, watching them... Awfully closely, really.

What was going on here?

Much to Yip's surprise, the Tera Blast hits the mark - disrupting the Disarming Voice enough for her to escape the exchange unharmed. Which is good, when they're both, perhaps, equally exhausted.

But, this means that a possible turnaround victory is in sight - and the Smeargle is eager to try and maintain momentum. But what in the world does one do, when a practical tsunami is bearing down upon you?

The answer, is to start surfing. With one last deciding Copycat, Yip paints herself a surfboard as she takes the wave head-on; attempting to Surf and wrangle it under her control, to turn it against Tofu!

Psyshield clashes against Psyshield - and as the two attempt to push back against one another, it is a valiant effort between the two... But, Yip is exhausted, and Quill is still as hale as can be. Thus, it is the latter Smeargle who wins out, sending Yip tumbling back; bounce, bounce, skid...

... And as Yip comes to a stop, she'd let out a grumble, remaining faceplanted with a huff. The paint of her Transform would melt away, leaving her in her true form.

Ettie giggled and clapped, stepping up to pat Yip and Quill both on the heads. "Did good!" She praised them both, smiling bright. Then, smiling to Sio, she'd ask "Playfight more, later?" Of course, later would be after all of this tournament stuff was done; but playing with friends was always good!
