Lasciel always had a bit of a problem with her name. Her mother hailed from Kalos and the two of them barely got along, which did not make it any better. She tended to go by her nickname Lash most of the time. And from there it was only one letter away from ‘leash’ which probably at least in part informed her choice of vocation, ultimately. Despite being a bit of a delinquent, she finished school with a penchant for Pokemon catching in particular, so she first sought out to become a professional trainer. Then, she realized that there was quite a bit of money in catching specific Pokemon for other people, so instead she got into that. [break][break] That kind of occupation eventually brought her in contact with Team Rocket, which she helped supply and tentatively joined, though she mostly saw it as a business association, really. It just opened up a lot of illegal channels to acquire or sell Pokemon on.

But all of that ended up not mattering when, looking for those new and fancy other forms of Pokemon, she sought out space-time distortions. The first two went fine, even lucrative. The third ended up sort of destroying her life, really. For one, she didn’t catch anything worthwhile. For the other, it ended up taking years from her life. As in, it ended up making her younger. Which was probably nice for most people. [break][break]

Only in her case, it made her too young. Which caused all sorts of problems. Most people refused to truly recognize her – some for their own gain, others just because they did not really believe that distortions truly could do such a thing. As such, she lost in succession her job (since few people wanted to buy Pokemon from someone that young), her boyfriend and many of the freedoms she was accustomed to. Especially drinking. Could not even drown her sorrows at all. [break][break]

Thus, at the present time, she appears to mostly be an angry gremlin. Ticked off by so many things, she is pretending to be a young trainer on a journey, mostly in the hopes of coming across another distortion and somehow fix this. But also in part because her family refuses to simply take her back in on the account of, and to quote her mother “I dealt with this once. Never again.”
